Yes ban the winners because they can use their heads and are better at math then any others. As well as better at spyes and generally better at anything.
Ban them because they played meta-gaming of Alliance tournament better then anyone else...
Makes perfect sense..
Say what ? Say what ??? o.O
How was this using their heads? only math they did was shove isk to each other to give us something very boring to look at...

You probably didnt get it.. Did you ?
Better team won. As for final battle it was great.. two friend fight against each other split profit afterwards... nobody can say anything about it. Only if the Hydra refuse to contribute to Outbreak. Than Outbreak may drop some tears...
Apart then that .. All whiners are pathetic.

That's what 'do the math' implies. If they value the isk over the win...then they did it correctly.

This is the culture of EVE, but still CCP will have to draw the line somewhere when AT outcomes are obviously rigged.
It will come out as the most stupid decision in the history of EVE. Either by the morons who started this scam, or by CCP if they let them continue and make any future tournament a joke.

Like what? I mean. Just give me something. Change whatever rules you want. What's that? Can't stop it from happening? *not surprised*
Actually you have a point, there's probably F*** all they could do. I guess there's really no point in watching the AT unless you enjoy figuring out who's in bed with who and other worthless meta gaming / intrigue type stuff. AT apparently has absolutely nothing to do with pvp

Thats matter of perspective and strongly subjective to each persona.
I find the last match fun and great... Hero Vindicator etc. not bad not bad at all... i mean all they need to do in the final its just get there and wait for 15 minutes kill one frig or so .. and they would still win..
That would be really entertaining

I don't think anyone in his right mind would argue against them doing what's best for their wallets and props to them for that, problem is this was in some way supposed to be an entertaining event and it wasn't, at least not in the manner it was supposed to - that is watching 2 teams struggling to win. I really couldn't care less about what happens with them, but I sure won't spend another afternoon watching an eve tournament.

As far as the EULA someone mentioned before, I wonder if it is a form of RMT as well as real items, I'm sure some lawyer somewhere could find a loophole and a losing team could sue over this, the real money prizes being an issue here...this isn't a joke it could turn into something real for ccp. People and companies get sued for much less then this. I don't want CCP to shut down over something like this. Perhaps this is nothing and i'm going farther then it would ever be seen as, but the real money value for the prizes real or virtual is serious.
I wouldn't be surprised if all competitors next your have to sign something in order to participate!
Regardless...

this ...
I don't blame hydra and outbreak for doing it, i'd do pretty much anything for that amt of isk, just a shame it's so boring and can't believe ccp hype this event with a straight face lol. if anything it's CCP who got trolled the hardest and for that I applaud the two wiining teams :)

The last match would have been fun if they had gone all out and made it a real fight..
There was no hero vindicator, there is no hero in a staged fight.
They won the tourney yes, they won prizes yes, the fact that they got in the final together was well played, the final however, mayor disappointment and lack of creativity

Anyone who gets upset about a little metagaming in EVE should probably quit now. This is the sort of stuff that happens EVERY SINGLE DAY in EVE.
In fact, the metagaming is one of the most intriguing and exciting parts of the game. It is what sets EVE apart from the other MMOs. There's no hand holding here, and you are free to do whatever you want.
The very fact that Hydra was able to beat Pandemic Legion at their own game, and then rub it in everyone's faces is testament to EVE's greatness. As usual, the REAL game is found beneath the combat. |

Right, because getting to the final on skills and then blowing it off in one very boring 'aww you can win you is cute, you deserved it more then i do, lets not give people something fun to watch' way isn't pansy at all

What do you prefer, that they hypocritical pretend it¦s a real fight when it¦s not, just to please the crowds - or just make a statement like this?!

Then make this the final tournament, since it does not belong into EVE, why should CCP organise another one?

TBH who gives a hoot what they did in the final. It just sounds as if you are bitter you are not good enough to get there yourself.
Both teams were friends and TBH all were winners. Get over yourself and stop being bitter at someone elses success

The AT is not about these things, and was never intended to be such! CCP can correct me if I'm wrong, CCP can, not the players.

Edited by: Solstice Project on 19/06/2011 23:30:28 Dear nvidia, evga, alienware, etc...
You are sponsors of an official event with a staged ending, which makes me and several other people really unhappy.
I will not buy any of your products again and will actively advise people to not buy your products until the gay***s of alliance tournament finalists get disqualified.
I know it wasn't your fault, but losing sponsors hurts.
Yours sincerely, S!P
(we can have this all the way via e-mail directly to them, too) (i bet there's plenty of ppl that would join in) (guess it needs rewording, but i'm ****ed ^^)

It isn't a pansy tournament, because CCP doesn't protect all the e-honour samurai from EVE's metagame.
If you want fair, go play battlegrounds and arenas in WoW. ----------

First, none of you paid a cent to watch the tournament. Second, this is EVE. In EVE anything can and will happen, never expect things to happen as you assume they should happen. EVE is not about being fair or about playing all nicey - nicey. Third, the tournament isn't about you the viewer, it is about teams that put up billions in ISK to participate. This is their tournament - not yours. Forth, you don't like how the tournament played out, put your money where your mouth is and get your own team into the tournament.
It was a great tournament and the teams that made it to the end worked their mouses off to get there. They still had to get through some very tough opponents to even get to the end. So congrats should be in order because these two teams managed to pull off an amazing ending to this tournament. I just hope next years tournament is as good as this one was.
