hurts small scale pvp, iirc hurts normal capship pvp too, since u can insure a cap and get a lot of it back if u die... so no.

Or just be realistic about it.
Starting the fight (firing first) results in a insurance payout penalty depending on security rating of the system.
Aggressor insurance payout:
1.0 : No insurance payout 0.9 : 20% payout 0.8 : 40% payout 0.7 : 60% payout 0.6 : 80% payout 0.5 and below : No penalty

English should die too... since EUA is a failed country and Chine is rising up, maybe mandarim should be the forum's oficial language

Here's a hint, EUA isn't a country. |

Would make Corp infiltration and awoxing way more fun. Imagine joining a small mission running corp and then systematically destroying their pve best fits - knowing they are getting no payouts.

EVE already has a more intense death penalty than just about any other MMO. You lose your implants, you lose probably somewhere around 50% of the value of your ship+fitting on average, you potentially lose training if you didn't make a clone or are flying a t3 and you potentially get transported to somewhere far away from where you want to be. Compare that to wow, for example, where you just get transported to the nearest graveyard. So, I don't know that it needs to be made even stricter. Maybe it needs to be made more exploit-proof. Killing a less expensive ship with a poorly fitted more expensive ship just because you know the insurance will cover it is an exploit IMO. But in general I think it's about right.
That said, I've always wondered what an MMO with an absolute death penalty would be like. You die, and that's it, you're dead. Game over, roll a new toon. It would need to be matched to the right kind of game- not one where you need years of training to do some things like in eve. But, could be pretty interesting. Instead of the "best" players just being the ones who have had the longest time to accumulate isk or gear or experience points or skill training or whatever, the best players would be those that actually are the best at playing the game. It'd be a great equalizer and would make everything more intense because of the risk you'd be facing. But, at the same time, it might just make everybody too scared to do anything cool... Or it just might make everybody ragequit after a few deaths... I dunno. I'd be curious to find out... |

Even now insurance doesn't pay for faction/deadspace/officer mods so even now they do not get reimbursed for losing a 4 billion mission runner. |

Except that you jumped to the conclusion I do it for profit. Killing 6 month old BS pilots who are in their first ever BS and ground their way through 3 hours a day of level 3 missions for 2 and a half months to fly the big flash toy is way way more satisfying. Remove insurance and each one of these will be a probable quit eve for ever scenario. The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be fantastic.
Also there are already literally hundreds of mission hub scanners looking for 2+bil loot pinatas - insurance alterations would have no effect on them at all.

The difference between pubbie and not pubbie is not the name of the alliance that one is a member of in the spaceship MMO Eve Online. It is the ability to know which meme fits which situation. Let me sum up for you using paraphrasing:
Weaselior: Meh scrubbing insurance won't hurt us it will hurt the little guys.
Vanilla Twilight Option a: haha the goon is mad. (yes I get to use a meme) Wrong. He is not made he is indifferent. Vanilla Twilight Option b: Insert random meme here in an attempt to illustrate how silly memes are. You have lost the cultural war |
