how about some useful info from ccp
like how to cancell the subscription please...
funny how i cant find any links to a cancellation screen.,,
i'm sick o this crap and want out to go play a decently run game that actually cares about is customers...

I receive this error message as well:
"The patch has downloaded but failed verification. Please try again."
I installed the EVE client from the original CD I purchased, then attempted to patch it using the client but after numerous failed attempts I moved on and found this file from a mirror and downloaded it:
"downloads.eve-online.com Patches version release CD (Released 2003.05.06) to 2.06.3538 142 MB"
When I attempt to run that file I get the failed verification message.
I know this has probably been asked before, but can someone clearly state exactly what I'm doing wrong, or, what I need to do? I'm not as frusterated as some others just yet because I know a very sweet
game is just around the corner from these issues, so I'm hanging in there for now. But, it would be cool to actually get to play the game while I still feel the urge to do so.

Hmm well Ive done everything like reinstall eve....then download it from the main website...ok so far so good...apply new patch...same errors as others above..

Linkage left sidebar menu > My Account > Subscription Details > Cancel Subscription (its located top right of that frame,next to right sidebar with pics)
Hope this help...but eventualy let emotions to settle down and it would be better *eventualy* (if they fix stupid alt-tab ASAP! )

If your having problems because of a bad or failed patch and are trying to reinstall from cd or from files off their website... good luck.
Do what others have done.. I still have the EVE_3366.exe full client and then a good, working, and clean 3366 to latest file on my mirror. I posted them up a little ways, just read back.
So if you're just going to ***** about not being able to play the game or patch with files off of their website.. don't even bother replying.. read back a ways first.

Considering the number of subscriptions, hundred of mbits doesn't sound too good. Say there are 60,000 subscribers, to sustain decent download, you must have expected 1 percent of subscribers come download when it is released.
I guess there are plenty of places like FileShack, FilePlanet to help you out.
Is there any chance in the future to take out the daily downtimes?

issues resolved. i unstalled eve, downloaded the two files from pookumz's mirror, installed the game and the patch then logged in for 4 hours straight last night with no problems.

Damn, too late for a detailed 24-hour graph, well here's the week-long one:

External traffic 52 GB/week, about 40GB more than normal, 580 happy users with a patch :) My official limit is 50 GB, but already got a green light from the ISP. :) Traffic is becoming less now.
I know quite a few people that still on dialup connection playing eve: Might it be an idea to offer a fully patched EVE cd version for sale online to be sent home for a fee comparable to postage? I mean a new CD after every large patch like Exodus and cold war etc.....

Can't patch. Can't play.
My main system was running eve 3366 and after a VERY slow download it patched and I was able to play. Then the power supply blew.
It'll be a couple of days before I can get it fixed an I've got a 2nd system that's more than up to running EVE so I've been trying to get it working on that one.
1. Install EVE from the CD and DL the release to 3538 patch. I get a nice fast DL and try to apply it. I get an error message and it quits the patch.
2. Uninstall EVE. REinstall from the CD. DL the patch from a different mirror. Much slower this time, but I get it eventually. Starts to patch but craps out on one of the stuff files. (facerestextures.stuff)
This time I made a copy of the EVE directory before patching.
3. Delete the dir with the failed patch. Rename the copy directory and make another copy of the dir. DL the stuff file that failed last time. (even though I've got .937 and the stuff is for 3366) Repatch the game. This time the patch completes without any errors, but when I run the game I get an error and it doesn't start.
4. Uninstall the game. Download the full client. Run the install and it fails part way through the install.
So, I can't patch the CD version to current, I can't install the current client, and I can't patch the CD version to 3366 then patch that to current. (no older patches available)
WTF is the solution here?
This is a clean install of XP pro. I used to run EVE on this machine so I know it's not hardware conflicts. I'm running the latest Ndivia drivers and directX. Nothing else seems to have a problem with this machine so what's wrong with this game?

hey guys... My system took a dump and I have been trying to DL eve on a new box. I keep getting a "no data" when I try to open the DL section on the eve-online.com site. I have an old eve client on the box and the cold war patch but it seem it wants the last patch before I load the new patch. Anyone have a link to the old patch just before the cold war? Any help would be welcome.

Just download the latest complete client, and let it update durng the login procedure, you'll be fine.

Feel free to grab both of the files from my server. Install eve 3366 client and then run the patch. Lotta people been saying full game install on main mirrors has been problematic. Noone complaining of problems from my mirror.

the "COLD WAR" screen comes up but doesn't go to the login screen. any suggustions?
