Everytime I try to install the patch I get this same error: "The patch has NOT been applied, there was an unexpected error applying the patch (patch version could not be determined)." I got it trying to go from 3366 or whatever the last version was to 3538, so i even uninstalled it and reinstalled the CD release (934) and tried the 934->3538 installer. Same error. Whats going on? Tell me its not just me...

I can confirm this too,... I wanted to test a fresh install on a different drive, I put up with the slow 200mb download only to find that the patch was not recognized... so much for installing from CD!

oh christ you have to be kidding me. im stuck until they put up a good version of that patch, seeing as how I uninstalled the copy on my main drive. Unless i want to sit for another dandy six hours and download a half gig client. sweet! this is why i play counterstrike.

Heh ... was able to get the pirate bittorrent to work well .... however now my missles do 0 dmg to everything .... no "you missed" message even ... that's what i call a nerf.
Oh yea, the bug report page is bugged as well .... go figure

the torrent from piratebay is very well seeded, got 600 kb/s in just a few seconds
too bad i had to pay for it since i pay for foreign downloads, ccp should understand the need for a better icelandic server since they are after all from iceland were many of our stupid ISP¦s charge for foreign downloads

I used GetRight download utility. I set it to accelerate and load from all the http servers. Took 2 hours or thereabouts with a cable modem.
Once I got the patch it worked perfectly. I did have to flush the cache and reboot to make the market work.
I can run all my accounts from this one computer, so the implementation of this patch is far superior to what happened with Exodus.

CCp should really study how the Second Life game deploys, like the mazda car commercial, zoom, zoom, zoom!
Each patch from CCP is more hideous to download. CCP needs to give everyone a days credit at least for this latest fiasco.

Wow, that must suck having to pay for foreign downloads.
Anyway, that piratebay torrent is really working great. I downloaded the patch in 6 minutes.

A short message to CCP about the new patch.
Not the patch itself, but the thinking of CCP about how it goes about issuing files [such as patches] to paying customers:
Step 1. Have your patch coordinator placed in a shuttle
Step 2. Have all the -10.0 players in the area turn up
Step 3. Scramble
Step 4. Web
Step 5. FIRE!!!!!!
Step 6. Pod for the next 500 million years
The patch deployment is complete shyte CCP, get your act together and behave like a company that is concerned about your customers.

Ok so after patching, I get the crash before the login screen. I wanted to try to repatch, but I can't since I've already got the current one installed. The only other copy I have of EVE is the original retail CD, and I've heard people complaining that the patch from this is corrupt.
So, is there any way to reapply the patch after its already been installed?

Can anyone mirror the CD Release to current patch file? (200mb)
OR
The full client download? (500mb)
The ones I downloaded from eve-o site have both been corrupt, so I'm looking for someone that has done this and it has worked for them.
I'm trying to troubleshoot here and fix some of these problems with a completely fresh install on a seperate drive, and I can't even do that due to CCPs files being corrupt.

Right already done that, checked all my drivers, rebooted, filed a bug report with the log server file. I've gotten no responses back, and am out of ideas. That's why I wanted to try to reinstall the patch, but it won't do it since I've got the new one installed already.

I checked through my error logs and found this one:
{The system cannot find the path specified.} in blue.ResFile: Open failed on "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\res\UI\config.py
Sure enough that file/folder doesn't exist on my computer. Can anyone with a working version of EVE confirm that they have this file?

This thing is messed. I tried to update via client, it crashes 1/2 way through. I try 5 different downloads of the patches, all tell me the file is corrupt. I uninstall eve and try to download an entire new client, again it tells me the install is corrupt. I try to install an old version, now that is corrupt. My virus software says nothing about a virus either.

Just some FYI for anyone having problems applying the patch like I did. When the patch was trying to install it failed and gave an error that the version could not be verified.
If you get this, find out which file the patch stopped on. For me the log/patch window said "script\compiled.code" followed by 2 errors about File not found...Similar file found.
So I went to http://eve-online.com/patches/stufffiles.asp and downloaded the appropriate file, which in my case was the Compiled-code.zip file. After downloading and extracting the zip file I copy and pasted the compile.code file to the "script\" directory and overwrote the file when prompted. After that I ran the patch and again and it worked!!

btw CCP can you at least promise us that next patch distribution you will handle much better?
