I also don't see why this is such a big deal. Aside from probably the first time TTI mobilized their forces - nothing special...Im sure m0o will either leave or keep bothering the alliance with guerilla tactics...It is untill the alliance grows even bigger. TTI - good job. VA - keep it up :P Setec, next time dont travel alone =)

Overall I am quite happy with TTI actually. TTI isn't perfect, and some TTI members get a bit defensive on these boards, but overall TTI is run really quite well, and has allowed me to earn a lot of really cool stuff. Please have your mole look up my posts in TTI's internal for sale forum if you want proof :)

BTW, have you played MMORPGs before Morkt? If not, you may want to get moles in some other corps going too - the internal debates on TTI boards are pretty calm/boring and are fairly small stuff compared to how bad I've seen flaming go on internal forums of guilds/corps in other games I've played. I bet you could find a lot of really juicy stuff to report on if you expanded your "moling" to more companies!

Just a thought. Keep the love coming! Very Happy

Hrm... and even if the VA does have a pirate corp member (not saying it does either way... this is hypothetical)

This is not something anybody's denying. I'm the CEO of Space Invaders, which is a full pirate corporation and a member of the Venal Alliance. The Gang and the Venal Guardians are also open pirates, though they have relatively few active members at the moment. Much of The Gang recently joined SI.

However, the many non-pirate corporations of the Venal Alliance do not participate in any way in the unlawful activities of the pirate members. We do fight side by side against enemies who attack our common interests in our 0.0 home region, but they do not join us for our aggressive PVP activity outside the region.

By the way, I can back Gaelen's report of last night's events. It's accurate.

I am glad to see you totally corroborate my statements that m0o lost one battleship, TTi lost one battleship, that a third "unknown" battleship was destroyed

He's not quite totally backing what you said. Your original post said that the Dominix that was lost was a part of the Venal Alliance, and it was not. It was a third-party bystander who probably would have been tolled by force by Venal forces (or kicked out of the region, or killed) if m0o hadn't found him first.

Quote:
other than "a miner who had a pass in venal"

As I understand it he was there without a pass, but I'm not positive.

Quote:
And our opinion is that TTi are incredibly emabarrased by having to admit openly they are allied with pirates.

Our alliance is a complicated thing, because it contains both lawful and unlawful corporations. It is not an alliance in which all members work together on all activities all the time. It is more of a non-aggression pact with an agreement to fight together against aggressive enemies that pose a common threat to both our interests, such as m0o-sinister. They don't provide us with minerals except what we might happen to buy from them on the open market at higher-than-NPC prices. So they are no more guilty of supporting criminal activity than any other corp which a) sells things on the open market sometimes and b) has a non-aggression pact with a pirate corp. Those are both very common traits.

You're being a scumbag of a journalist at the moment, Morkt, trying to pressure people into classifying themselves with a misleading term. When you say they're in a "piratical alliance," most people will interpret that to mean that they're pirates, and soon you'll have people running around exclaiming, "TTI admits they're pirates! OMG!" They are not pirates and they do not contribute to the piracy activities of their neighbors. This has been clarified well by all parties involved. So just drop it with them.

I had thought that maybe the Big Bang Burger Bar was going to become something of a New York Times of Eve when I first saw what Morkt seemed to be doing, but now it's very clear they're just the National Inquirer... wee yay for celebrity gossip. :P

M0rpheus I wasn't quite traveling alone. :) Well, that wasn't the idea, anyway. The Venal Alliance had one battleship alone at the gate to 6NJ and said as I came into his system that Lord Zap was there at his gate, so I immediately warped over to assist by jamming Lord Zap, which I did successfully with my blackbird, but the other VA ship had taken a lot of damage so he was jumping out as I arrived and jammed Zap. Unfortunately there were a couple of sinister scorpions there as well and they warp jammed and killed me moments before other VA ships arrived, including Astaroth in his megathron who made all 3 m0o-sinister battleships run away with hull damage.

Very good from someone that was running for the whole time I was in the "conflict" if thats what you call it. You say you are patient and relentless. What does this mean? It means that you sit around with your thumbs up your *ss and wait for the rest of the people to get tired. If we have the same force we had at our peak last night, you will not win, and you will run and lick the wounds in the corner of the system just like last night. If you come into the system and we have any kind of organization like last night, you will be hard pressed to walk over us.

* These opinions do not reflec that of TTI, only myself *

And in reply to Shollos' little spat, you are full of sh*t because most of our force was logged and not involved in the battle that took your battleship. Do not give false information to make you guys out to be so big and bad. Thanks.

So VA and TTi would have us believe no doubts Setec.

There are "alliances" however that manage not only to avoid doing "shady deals" with pirates but exclude them outright and also any individual members with low security ratings or proven history of piracy.

Irrespective of TTi's active "help" to pirate Corporations their tacit mutual-defence-policy of the VA can do nothing but help SI and the other pirates in Venal.

What does teh poor trader who is robbed in Pure-Blind think now when he knows that his search for justice means also fighting TTi?

Or are you telling us that "anybody" with a gripe against the pirates in the Venal Alliance will NOT benefit from the mutual support of TTi and all the other "so called" law abiding corporations within it?

Why, precisely, cannot TTi take a leaf from the SPC book and seek to actively expell pirates?

Do we really think that the might of the TTi resources is so badly trained as to have to rely on the shelter of pirate corporations?

And do you, or any other pirate now wheltering in TTi's shadow, really think that what you gain from this "alliance" isn't immediately obvious?

Call it "scumbag reporting" all you like, the reality is that Piracy benefits from the portective cloak of TTi and visa-versa.

The individuals robbed by "The Gang" "Space Invaders" and assorted Whipping Dogs are now even more inviolate than before.

As exemplified by those very same dogs called to heal to helpt defend TTi.

Oh the bitter irony of it!

What Sin/Moo should do is, head down every day. Kill a couple people then go park in a station, and head off to a movie. Come back 3 or 4 hours later and repeat. A week of that and half of TTI will be so burned out from playing the waiting game they will just quit ;p

Name one such major alliance. You can't. There aren't any.

Quote:

Since when do they rely on the pirates? Never.

Quote:

Wait, so now we're hiding in their shadow, relying on them?

Which is it? We rely on them, or they rely on us? Make up your mind.

The reality is that there is no reliance at all. We've struck up a mutually beneficial relationship. TTI can hold their own without us and we can hold our own without them. Very few aggressors can hold their own against our combined power, and that safety is an advantage for both of us.

You're just being trashy now, Morkt--at every detail you scream "AHA!" and dishonestly imply false degrees of collaboration or reliance. You're not a journalist, you're a finger-pointer, and when you see that neither of our organizations is doing anything unbecoming of our roles, you're disappointed so you've taken to grasping for straws. Not gonna work.
