Well as promised m0o/sin came into Venal after TTI. Totallng a first fleet of 4-5 m0o/sin ships they were stopped by a fleet in the amount of 40 ships. So they docked and logged. Only to return and hide in mid warp, and then to log again. Well shortly after the Venal Alliance forces disbanded they made their return. Stavros, Shallos and 2 other sinister members decided to block a station. Which resulted in a all out battle. Resulting in Shallos's scorpion going down! (thanks for the goodies, but should have been better on a battleship) and the loss of a TTI battleship (which he has replaced already). Great fighting by both sides.

Skirmishes in Venal:

MDW "sources" indicate that a couple of "small scale skirmishes" took place in Venal during which a total of three battleships were lost.

These included a TTi Apocalypse-Class Battleship piloted by "Tolstoy" and a, as yet unidentified, Dominix-Class Battleship belonging to others in the VA.

TTi also suffered the loss of a number of Cruiser-Class ships but suceeded in destroying the Scorpion-Class Batttleship of pilot "Shollos" from the piratical m0o-corporation.

All sides reported high levels of "galactic radiation" causing delays to ship controls.

Perhaps most interesting was that TTi could only muster two battleship-class ships in what must surely now be regarded as "their back yard."

- - -

The "Venal Alliance" is a piratical Alliance that claims sovereignity over the Venal regions and includes the "Mega-Corp" of TTi as one of its constinuent members.

"m0o-corp" are self-styled "pseudo-anarchic pirates" who recognise no boundaries and no sovereignity.

Say all you want about TTI, what matters is we (the VA) were attacked by the most feared pirate corp in Eve and we held our ground while our attackers retired from the field of battle. It means even more when you're paid a complement along the lines of "You're not the pushovers we thought you'd be."

I feel we earned a measure of respect last night.

Carebears? Maybe, but these carebears can kill you.

OoC:

@Berd and to all TTi - please stop playing the "injured and aggrieved misunderstood party whom the big bad press is out too get"... it is truly pathetic.

If youa re going to play this role then at least ROLEPLAY it ftlog.

- -

fwiw I received 7 eve-mails detailing events in Venal.

3 from TTi; the first of which claimed 3 m0o battleships were destroyed by TTi for the loss of no ships at all.

The other two also claimed no losses to TTi battleships but only claimed 1 m0o ship killed.

A different source from within the VA gave me the details above AND those details were identically corroborated by a source in m0o.

If you happen to have a better way of corroborating the events then feel free to suggest them - otherwise take the "attitude" elsewhere.

A "biased" report would have read;

"TTi lies exposed in claims of 3 m0o battleships destroyed for no losses!"

Would that suit you better?

No e-mail claiming such was sent, i suggest you contact your local specsavers or something.

We lost no cruisers but did indeed take the loss of 1 Apoc class Battleship, and m0o lost 1 Battleship (scorpion).

I was not there unfortunatley, but i have been assured the above information is correct, and most importantly all parties had fun, nice going m0o/sin/VA.

I don't think that's correct. I was not there, but from information I heard from the people involved that Dominix was not a member of the Venal alliance or the m0o/sinister invaders, and I believe that the m0o guys killed it, but if they hadn't the Venal Alliance probably would have. I heard it was someone who made the mistake of thinking there's such a thing as "neutral" in Venal. :)

The losses for the two main sides included one amarr battleship from TTI and Shollos's scorpion from Sinister. I'm not sure on other cruiser losses, but I lost one of my blackbirds a couple hours earlier as they were entering Venal, when I jumped Lord Zap's battleship at a gate and successfully jammed him, only to find that he was not the only enemy battleship in town. :P

That's also not correct. Only a couple of corporations within the Venal Alliance engage in piracy--the rest are peaceful corporations who have claimed this territory and are willing to defend it to create a familiar and safe community for their members within. Most corporations in the Venal Alliance have absolutely nothing to do with the external pirating activities of a few of the other members, such as Space Invaders.

I dont care if only 1 Corporation engages in open piracy - it has pirates as welcome members and is therefore a Piratical Alliance.

It is an Alliance with Pirates. Fact. Live with it and don't try to sugar-coat it.

As it happens it is more than one corporation and if the VA isnt piratical it might want to reconsider having:

Hrm... and even if the VA does have a pirate corp member (not saying it does either way... this is hypothetical) who cares? Eve isn't about morals, it's about power and control. If you fool yourself into thinking about things on moral terms you are going to need a bit of a reality adjustment.

From your own website, Morkt:

Quote:

From all I have ever seen, you most assuredly do not adhere to this philosophy. I am not saying you actively are pro-Pirate or actively anti-Corporation, but to date I have seen little if anything to indicate you even try to adhere to this, and in your "reporting" you obviously don't adhere to "normal" journalistic standards. In a previous article, rather than provide a full, unbiased account of an event, you decided to slant an article with your own opinions and selective quotations to serve what purpose I can only hazard to guess.

That being beside the point, Your above "article" is a bit misleading. First, TTI at one point in the "skirmish" had 4 of the 8 VA battleships in attendance, not two. Yes, a battleship piloted by Tolstoy was destroyed, as was a battleship piloted by Shollos. The third battleship mentioned was an unfortunate bystander, and was not a member of VA or m0o-sinister (It should be noted that m0o-sinister attacked and destroyed this bystander even though the bystander offered no resistance and was not returning fire; how manly of them.). As for Cruisers lost, there were a couple of cruisers destroyed (may have only been one), but none during the direct conflict (oh, and none were TTI cruisers, FYI). The only losses of cruisers was in random "gankings" by m0o-sinister prior the the actual engagement. You also neglected to point out the fact that during the engagement, of the 40 ships in the encounter TTI was the single largest group represented. Those ships were all on point within 30 minutes of first being notified of a potential combat situation.

That's the facts.

I'm sorry, but if you want to "purport" to be an unbiased source of information, you may want to be a bit more thorough in your presentation of the facts. And if you wish to portray the Venal Alliance as a "piratical alliance" fine, but just don't expect anyone here to consider you as a reliable source of accurate information. TTI does not go out looking for a fight, but you can rest assured that when one comes looking for us or VA, we will not go quietly in the night....

Thank you for that.

I am glad to see you totally corroborate my statements that m0o lost one battleship, TTi lost one battleship, that a third "unknown" battleship was destroyed and that a number of cruisers were also lost.

Having totally corroborated my entire release i am thus bewildered by your claim of "bias".

Unfortunately you didn't actually state that you witnessed all of these events first hand - so I must ask you to retract them all unless you can provide clear proof of your witnessing them - and not just going off the "entirely unbiased" opinions and posts of other VA and TTi members?

Hmm... hmm?

Not too mention of ocurse that your own position remains entirely biased - being a sided member of TTi and a cohort of pirates.

hmm..hmm?? Laughing

- - -

As to your claim that the Venal Alliance is not an Alliance with Pirates:

Please feel free to explain why The Venal Alliance, that openly has self-admitted pirates as members, is not an Alliance with Pirates.

Forgive my utter and total confusion with this, because, for the life of me, I cannot see how an alliance with pirates is NOT a piratical alliance.

Did I just miss a change in definitions somewhere?

Or was it the bit on the Neocom site for the VA where they state "Pirate them or otherwise remove them from region".

Feel entirely free to explain to the Galactic readership how Taggart is not "Lieing down with Pirates" or embarking on "Mutual defence" with Pirates or "Sharing" space with Pirates.

And, after you ahve done all of those denials, have the same self-admitted Piratical Corporations come and do the same.

Let us see them renounce their ways so that TTi can can "score a point" in that it does not do what if really does, and what everybody knows it does, which is have an alliance with piratical corporations.

As I have said to your CEO: TTI members have ane xtra skill, that of being able to make big and easy targets of themselves "politically".

You continue to uphold that tradition.

Gaelen

The guy who lost a Dominix was a member of a corp named Gallentean Trading Federation or something like that - six person company, not a member of VA - and the Moo guys killed him. I kinda feed bad for him, a small corp like that will have a hard time replacing a bship like that. :(

Morkt: The "yet unidentified, Dominix-Class Battleship belonging to others in the VA." was the part of your report that was incorrect. It was some 3rd party guy, Aliace or something was the name, I think Stavros killed him. I'll try to get the exact name from my IRC logs if you are curious.

Also a question - do you classify Fountain Alliance and Stain Alliance as piratical alliances too?

Hiro - Yes.

Nobody seems to know who the mystery Dominix pilot is.

If "you" are allied with pirates then you are in a piratical alliance.

The distinction of being anti-TTi though is obscured by the suggestion that stating RUS was the Aggresor in the SAvRUS conflict is "anti-RUS" or "pro-SA".

We will state our opinion.

And our opinion is that TTi are incredibly emabarrased by having to admit openly they are allied with pirates.

Despite the fact that "everybody" knows this TTi continue to deny it. Why? Nobody knows.

You are allied with pirates.

To answer your question Morkt, yes, I was there and was involved in the operation. I am not hiding the fact that I am in TTI, what are YOU hiding?

As for some of the other parts of your response, I guess you must have simply confused my post with that of some others, since I did not make some of those comments. If you want an "official" response about our being members of VA, you will have to ask the Execs. Of course, I would rather be openly known to associate with the VA members than to hide behind the guise of "reporting the facts" (Your definition of "facts" obviously is not the same as the rest of the world's).

As for this statement:

Quote:
Having totally corroborated my entire release i am thus bewildered by your claim of "bias".

I think not. In your original post, you stated:

Quote:
TTi also suffered the loss of a number of Cruiser-Class ships...

You also stated this:

Quote:
Perhaps most interesting was that TTi could only muster two battleship-class ships in what must surely now be regarded as "their back yard."

I have refuted both of those statements, as my original post so states. Unless you can provide verification yourself, unless you were THERE yourself, you can't verify anything being stated. I see no point in even bothering with you. From now on, you can say what you want, but others won't be listening (except for telling people what they want to hear, just so you can keep an audience).

(Oh, and you can hide behind RP all you want, I think everyone here can tell you sleep with Pirates...)

Stick a fork in Morkt, he's done.

I think it's a simple misunderstanding/turn of phrase.

Although I can see how 'piratical alliance' can indicate is is an alliance *of* pirates, rather than an alliance *with* pirates.

Hey Morkt,
Just FYI, TTI had more then two Bships there. When m00 initially logged off and we grew tired of playing the waiting game, a *lot* of our people went on to other things. While I was only piloting two cruisers myself, I know a lot of people left as I did. At the peak of the stand off TTI had at least 4 Bships there and countless cruiser escorts. We proved our point though, and that will not be taken from us.

As a side note, m00 and sinister would have suffered MUCH more losses had they had the testicular fortitude to fight instead of running / logging early in the situation.

*Something else I forgot.....I had taken a screenshot of Lord Zap running as well as Rancid Milk running right after claiming that "all corporations in venal must pay 20 M per member" and some other non-sense; these screenshots, however, did not show up in my cache folder.....sadly.* Im sure a lot of people would have liked the sight of 8 Bships and 25 cruisers waiting outside a station and Lord Zap running away ;)

Running / logging is a great way to do combat. Did the exploits run out? Is that why m00 has to resort to waiting their opponents out?

Galaen you're a star.

Not a very bright one, but a star nonetheless.

"Sleeping with Pirates" - been thinking of a title for the interview with your CEO and you've given it right to me.

I thank you.

I take it that you also are in denial over being allied with piratical corporations and are just going to "skip" by that little bit?

The "problem" with wanting to believe that "nobody" listens is that the opposite is true.

the MDW report on TTi moving to Venal and allying itself with pirates is proven beyond any reasonable doubt.

That TTi were outraged that this was made public is also factually shown on Gal-net.

Over and over TTi want too present the "public" with a "goody-two-shoes" image but cannot do so whilst we continue to expose them for what they are:

A corporation of low morals and scruples who will cavort with piratical corporations whilst openly denying any such actions are taking place.

TTi offer their tacit support of Regionally active pirates through open alliance with them - you are providing sales on one hand and taking them away via the support of piracy on the other... intentionally or otherwise.

None of which, none of which, is any real shock to the general public.

The only "shock" to MDW is that TTi continues to deny it is allied with pirates despite the overwhelming evidence of being so - to the extent of being in the same political alliance as some.

- - - -

[OoC]Mustafa - Yeah - it will be interesting to see what happens after "hotguns" comes in.

I wonder if m0o and others will become more cautious in where they go and what they do, not too mention "who fires first".

Cool, thanks Morkt for the clarification that every corp in Stain Alliance is a member of a "piratical alliance", ditto for every member of the Fountain Alliance.

Now that this is settled, let's get down to what is really important - who is the most ebil!

Dear VA pirates: You need to be the awesomest pirates ever. Don't let those Stain Alliance or Fountain Alliance pirate wannabes put you to shame, because any ebil you do, automatically makes TTI ebil. I'm gonna be sooo embarrassed if Cornexant or Xanadu or any non-pirate corp gets more ebil points than us because their piratical alliance pirates do a better job of piracy than you.

Nah Zap, that made sense. Don't beat yourself up so much.

Hey is Moo a member of one of the "piratical alliances"? I'm hoping the answer is no, because otherwise whichever non-pirate corps you are piratically allied with with is gonna get some of your ebil points.

I fail to see how about 10 corps allied with each other can promote themselves by bragging on the forums that about 30 of them had one man from one corp trapped. i dont see the victory there, maybe i am just short sighted :)

Hiro - Im glad that you, at least, finally admit it.

Perhaps you can help the rest of TTi to come out of the closet also?

Maybe start some classes for it inside the Corp~.. you might even make some money from it.

Now that we've got over that little hurdle we can let the public know that what TTi offer in sales with one hand they are helping their "Piratical friends" take back with the other, if through no other means than mutual support in defence and the sharing of wealth, items, 'roid belts and hunting grounds.

Maybe a new TTi advertising campaign:

"We give as TTi, we take as VA (nee "the Gang, Venal Guardians, Space Invaders)"

I feel sure that your PR department can come up with something more "catchy".

TTI is allied with Pirates.

No doubt about that. In fact, it was an honor to fight along side them against M0o/Sin. Warriors one and all.

But as you sit behind your holoscreen and openly criticize us, Morkt, let me try to put things in a different perspective for you.

Disclaimer: This is my own personal view and not that of Taggart Transdimensional Inc.

TTI is looked at as a galactic cash cow (no pun intended M0o) and everyone demands that TTI protect them from pirates, keep gates open, sell them items cheaply. But when TTI needs help, everyone is strangely quiet. It was only the Venal Alliance that had the courage and the foresight to see the benefits of having Eve's largest mega-corp on their side and they shall have all the perks that go along with it.

When you claim we are a Pirate alliance, that slants things as to say the purpose of said alliance is to pirate. It is not, it is solely for the securing and mutual defense of the Venal region. While there are Pirate corporations in VA (the dashing rogues that they are) what they do on their own time is none of our concern. We don't bother them, they don't bother us and that's all we need worry about.

Make no mistake, we earned our blood stripes last night against M0o and Sinister. TTI is a paper tiger no longer.

Lol this is so cool, you are writing ad copy for TTI!

It is a good start, but I really think you need to customize it more though. As it is it is entirely too easy for our competitors in every single company in Stain or Fountain Alliances to say the same thing just by swapping names. I mean, to pick a couple of random other piratical alliance corps, "We give as Tycho Heavy Industries, we take as Evolution" or "We give as Homeworld Technologies, we take as Anti Sheep Mafia". Substitute any other corp name and it still works and is just as accurate - that's no fun at all Sad

How about a more TTI-specific ring to it? That would at least make it a more TTI-specific ad. Like, "Objectivism gives you the most affordable ships in the galaxy - and VA will give you a chance to use them!" Actually, that one isn't very good either - while our hypercapitalism does yield some of the best prices and biggest variety of ship sales from any corp in the galaxy, it still isn't that specific to TTI. Given your facility with words I'm sure you can do better!

Thanks again for all your efforts! Very Happy

"Stick a fork in Morkt, he's done."

Gaelen - is this why the TTi membershiping is asking its own questions of Mulligan Defence now?

Such as why do they have to provide their own ships for defence yet get no recompense if they lose them?

And if so why does Mulligan Defence get the weekly Tax stipend from the members? Just where does it go eh?

They get a percentage from guarding mining operations but nothing for guarding the Corporations honour?

Meanwhile Mulligan Defence keeps getting their tax-revenue, the members keep supplying their own ships for battle and the "shareholder" keeps getting more and more concerned.

I wonder who said all those things?

Ah yes - TTi members, unhappy ones.... a bit like those whom TTi just happened to "fail to mention" to that they were going into an open alliance with pirates.

I guess it must be nice being a mushroom in TTi - at least the "ecological conditions" for growth is ideal for them.

Well as promised m0o/sin came into Venal after TTI. Totallng a first fleet of 4-5 m0o/sin ships they were stopped by a fleet in the amount of 40 ships. So they docked and logged.

Hmm 4 or 5 versus 40? If anyone I was with suggested that we go fight a force of 40 ships I'd pod them myself.

Waiting is the only option that makes sense. Wait till you have more reinforcements or wait till some get tired and leave.

Good job on getting that many people together though.

"I fail to see how about 10 corps allied with each other can promote themselves by bragging on the forums that about 30 of them had one man from one corp trapped. i dont see the victory there, maybe i am just short sighted :)"

What it really all comes down to is your little incursion put our alliance to the test with TTI and the rest of us.

When evolution first invaded us it was a total disaster. The most ppl we could get together was 12 of us in cruisers as the first response (maybe less then that).

We learned from evolution how vulnerable and how stupid that made us look. We will not ever let that happen again.

Everyone and their mom simply drops what they are doing and comes to the regions defense - everyone. If they in an indy, it is refitted and used for combat. No ship is too small or too ineffective. Was fun seeing Setec flying around in a badger after his bb was destroyed and using it to the best of his ability.

Most know that your attack force was smaller then what it could of been. But when you are going up against some of the arguably best pvp pilots in the game you don't want to take any chances.

It was an exciting vist though. But I personally don't care to see you all back here again Very Happy . Each one of those incursions cost corps a lot of money, not in ships, but in lost profit from a days work down the drain. I mean my corp just got everyone fitted into bships (the whole mega corp sized 5 of us) and need to get some good buffer cash stashed away to replace the ones we will eventually loose in combat.

Not everyone is a TTI and can say "just a drop in the bucket" when they loose and APOC Wink .

Morkt,

Every company has disgruntled employees. Why do you play it off like it's news?

What's humorous is your continued "cherry picking" of grumblings from a very small percentage of a huge corporation to illustrate your particular slant and/or agenda on whatever mudslinging you choose to do day by day. Why not post the fact of the many men and women in TTI who ARE happy? Who come to work in TTI day after day and leave more wealthy than when they arrived that morning? Of the growing camaraderie and confidence of our troops?

No, you won't do that because it doesn't sell press, does it? It's irresponsible and "Yellow Journalism" at best.

TTI is smart in my opinion, who better to have watching your back than a bunch of corps experienced in fighting.

What *****s me up is tekforce running his yap about a fight he wasnt even there to attend. So let me clarify for you pal... it was zap and some other sin person docked in the station while others were off hiding somewhere. The only ship you claimed during any battles with VA was a apoc. Any TTI cruisers you blew up was after your guys relogged about 45 min later, which those r the same guys we made log. And once we were informed of their presence... we came and shut them down once again.

Although u were ABSENT for a well faught battle on both sides, make sure you know ur facts before spitting out comments. As far as taking VA? Last night was tons of fun... so keep trying... those big battles are the best.

VA losses:
1 black bird cruiser
1 apoc

no other losses reported (and the black bird was before we organized) as for the dominix, I hope that was gilgor he docked with 15% armor the other night grrrr

As for any other cruisers killed that had passes to roam Venal, they are not part of the Alliance, and shouldnt be refered to as such.

hmmm what else, ahhh yes, Morkt Drak: as for that site you got that from (Paid Visitor passes (Expire): NO SUCH THING Pirate them or otherwise remove them from region), that is not an official site, we have about 4 or 5 that i have bookmarked to be honest, hehe...

LOL, its funny to see how all the Venal and TTI peeps saying it was a large battle and was well fought. Tbh that was nothing compared to some of the engagements we've encountered. I mean at the end Rev and myself had logged off so how many m0o/sin were there 3 or 4? Don't go claiming a victory yet because next time we will be around with more numbers. And even if we are few we can operate like that because we are patient and relentless. TTI are still full of smack talking care bears "Energy Drain Exploit!! wahahaha". Pathetic

The nights events where 1 BlackBird 1 Apoc lost on VA site 1 Scorpion lost by Shollo, Stavr0s escaped at 5% structure, Lord Zap, The Reverand and Layna(something like that) where damaged.

1 bystandard Adino lost a Dominix (I was told it was an afk kill too and thats just sad).

Here are some pics of Venal Fleet which no one showed upto fight :(

there really isn't any reason for all the bravado.

moo came down to venal for reasons known to them, they didn't expect the level of resistance they received (if they had expected it they wouldn't have hidden in a station once they got here or else they would have brought a much larger force). no big deal, tactical mistake, even moo can make them.

they killed 1 bs and 1 cruiser that was in the VA and VA killed one bs and everyone had fun. everything else is just fluff.

I don't know why your complaining. It's not like pirates are being put on the spot. Alot has happened in the last few patched. What about the fact that Harvesters aren't dropping as much? Or the fact that it cost 10 million to buy a Heavy 'modulated' lazer on the Trade channel now?

What about the fact that people trying to avoid gate campers will no longer be able to MWD out of Warp anymore?

I just think CCP likes to greif us all. They aren't just picking on pirates though.

I also don't see why this is such a big deal. Aside from probably the first time TTI mobilized their forces - nothing special...Im sure m0o will either leave or keep bothering the alliance with guerilla tactics...It is untill the alliance grows even bigger. Overall I am quite happy with TTI actually. TTI isn't perfect, and some TTI members get a bit defensive on these boards, but overall TTI is run really quite well, and has allowed me to earn a lot of really cool stuff. Please have your mole look up my posts in TTI's internal for sale forum if you want proof :)

BTW, have you played MMORPGs before Morkt? If not, you may want to get moles in some other corps going too - the internal debates on TTI boards are pretty calm/boring and are fairly small stuff compared to how bad I've seen flaming go on internal forums of guilds/corps in other games I've played. I bet you could find a lot of really juicy stuff to report on if you expanded your "moling" to more companies!

Just a thought. Keep the love coming! Very Happy

Hrm... and even if the VA does have a pirate corp member (not saying it does either way... this is hypothetical)

This is not something anybody's denying. I'm the CEO of Space Invaders, which is a full pirate corporation and a member of the Venal Alliance. The Gang and the Venal Guardians are also open pirates, though they have relatively few active members at the moment. Much of The Gang recently joined SI.

However, the many non-pirate corporations of the Venal Alliance do not participate in any way in the unlawful activities of the pirate members. We do fight side by side against enemies who attack our common interests in our 0.0 home region, but they do not join us for our aggressive PVP activity outside the region.

By the way, I can back Gaelen's report of last night's events. It's accurate.

Quote:
I am glad to see you totally corroborate my statements that m0o lost one battleship, TTi lost one battleship, that a third "unknown" battleship was destroyed

He's not quite totally backing what you said. Your original post said that the Dominix that was lost was a part of the Venal Alliance, and it was not. It was a third-party bystander who probably would have been tolled by force by Venal forces (or kicked out of the region, or killed) if m0o hadn't found him first.

Quote:
other than "a miner who had a pass in venal"

As I understand it he was there without a pass, but I'm not positive.

Quote:
And our opinion is that TTi are incredibly emabarrased by having to admit openly they are allied with pirates.

Our alliance is a complicated thing, because it contains both lawful and unlawful corporations. It is not an alliance in which all members work together on all activities all the time. It is more of a non-aggression pact with an agreement to fight together against aggressive enemies that pose a common threat to both our interests, such as m0o-sinister. They don't provide us with minerals except what we might happen to buy from them on the open market at higher-than-NPC prices. So they are no more guilty of supporting criminal activity than any other corp which a) sells things on the open market sometimes and b) has a non-aggression pact with a pirate corp. Those are both very common traits.

You're being a scumbag of a journalist at the moment, Morkt, trying to pressure people into classifying themselves with a misleading term. When you say they're in a "piratical alliance," most people will interpret that to mean that they're pirates, and soon you'll have people running around exclaiming, "TTI admits they're pirates! OMG!" They are not pirates and they do not contribute to the piracy activities of their neighbors. This has been clarified well by all parties involved. So just drop it with them.

I had thought that maybe the Big Bang Burger Bar was going to become something of a New York Times of Eve when I first saw what Morkt seemed to be doing, but now it's very clear they're just the National Inquirer... wee yay for celebrity gossip. :P

M0rpheus I wasn't quite traveling alone. :) Well, that wasn't the idea, anyway. The Venal Alliance had one battleship alone at the gate to 6NJ and said as I came into his system that Lord Zap was there at his gate, so I immediately warped over to assist by jamming Lord Zap, which I did successfully with my blackbird, but the other VA ship had taken a lot of damage so he was jumping out as I arrived and jammed Zap. Unfortunately there were a couple of sinister scorpions there as well and they warp jammed and killed me moments before other VA ships arrived, including Astaroth in his megathron who made all 3 m0o-sinister battleships run away with hull damage.

Very good from someone that was running for the whole time I was in the "conflict" if thats what you call it. You say you are patient and relentless. What does this mean? It means that you sit around with your thumbs up your *ss and wait for the rest of the people to get tired. If we have the same force we had at our peak last night, you will not win, and you will run and lick the wounds in the corner of the system just like last night. If you come into the system and we have any kind of organization like last night, you will be hard pressed to walk over us.

* These opinions do not reflec that of TTI, only myself *

And in reply to Shollos' little spat, you are full of sh*t because most of our force was logged and not involved in the battle that took your battleship. Do not give false information to make you guys out to be so big and bad. Thanks.

I mean at the end Rev and myself had logged off so how many m0o/sin were there 3 or 4? Don't go claiming a victory yet because next time we will be around with more numbers. And even if we are few we can operate like that because we are patient and relentless. TTI are still full of smack talking care bears "Energy Drain Exploit!! wahahaha". Pathetic

Thanks.

<<<<< You're being a scumbag of a journalist at the moment, Morkt, trying to pressure people into classifying themselves with a misleading term.
>>>>>

So VA and TTi would have us believe no doubts Setec.

There are "alliances" however that manage not only to avoid doing "shady deals" with pirates but exclude them outright and also any individual members with low security ratings or proven history of piracy.

Irrespective of TTi's active "help" to pirate Corporations their tacit mutual-defence-policy of the VA can do nothing but help SI and the other pirates in Venal.

What does teh poor trader who is robbed in Pure-Blind think now when he knows that his search for justice means also fighting TTi?

Or are you telling us that "anybody" with a gripe against the pirates in the Venal Alliance will NOT benefit from the mutual support of TTi and all the other "so called" law abiding corporations within it?

Why, precisely, cannot TTi take a leaf from the SPC book and seek to actively expell pirates?

Do we really think that the might of the TTi resources is so badly trained as to have to rely on the shelter of pirate corporations?

And do you, or any other pirate now wheltering in TTi's shadow, really think that what you gain from this "alliance" isn't immediately obvious?

Call it "scumbag reporting" all you like, the reality is that Piracy benefits from the portective cloak of TTi and visa-versa.

The individuals robbed by "The Gang" "Space Invaders" and assorted Whipping Dogs are now even more inviolate than before.

As exemplified by those very same dogs called to heal to helpt defend TTi.

Oh the bitter irony of it!

What Sin/Moo should do is, head down every day. Kill a couple people then go park in a station, and head off to a movie. Come back 3 or 4 hours later and repeat. A week of that and half of TTI will be so burned out from playing the waiting game they will just quit ;p

Name one such major alliance. You can't. There aren't any.

Since when do they rely on the pirates? Never.

Wait, so now we're hiding in their shadow, relying on them?

Which is it? We rely on them, or they rely on us? Make up your mind.

The reality is that there is no reliance at all. We've struck up a mutually beneficial relationship. TTI can hold their own without us and we can hold our own without them. Very few aggressors can hold their own against our combined power, and that safety is an advantage for both of us.

You're just being trashy now, Morkt--at every detail you scream "AHA!" and dishonestly imply false degrees of collaboration or reliance. You're not a journalist, you're a finger-pointer, and when you see that neither of our organizations is doing anything unbecoming of our roles, you're disappointed so you've taken to grasping for straws. Not gonna work.

Were you last in the braincell queue or first in the lobotomy queue?

Well, we will see.

Somehow I think that the average Galactic resident will be somewhat put-out to know that after Space Invaders robs them, TTi will stop them from gaining retribution.

Unless, of course, TTi come out with a clear and categorical statement that they will not interfere with any law-abiding citizens seeking retribution for piracy in Venal or anywhere else.

That this will probably render their deal with the Venal Alliance invlaid (or at least for the "tiny minority or pirates) seems to be a bit of a Catch 22.

I suppose the way too remedy it is for the VA to simply kick out the pirates.

I am no leading diplomat in TTI, but it is my opinion that TTI deals with VA on a purely business standpoint at this point in time. We both are threatened by m00's presence in Venal; therefore we have an un-official duty to each other to fight that threat. It is not TTI's responsiblity to protect those pirates that are being attacked in retribution for a prior act though - this being said because TTI is not / does not condone piracy. We will, however, help out the alliance if there is a mutual threat, as was shown last night.

* Once again these are my expressed opinions, please do not take these for factual statements coming from TTI itself *

And also on a side note, I enjoyed the conversations with VA during the battle last night. Despite VA having pirate corporations, I can respect their actions and last night just solidified that feeling for me. May we drive m00 out of our territory.

Whoa, I just had a major revelation.

I kept scratching my head why Morkt is so focused on TTI and VA and why he doesn't seem to realize that the vast majority of major corps belong to some "piratical" regional alliance. I mean, I haven't yet seen him flame an aboveboard company like CNX for being piratically allied with EVO, for instance. All the theories about Morkt "reporting" on TTI/VA because he is biased are totally wrong. He isn't leaking only TTI's private forums because he has an axe to grind with TTI - no!

Congratulations on your victory, however you do need to bear a few things in mind.

1) 4 or 5 ships should run and hide from 40. Its just common sense. If you stand and fight in that situation you are a fool.
2) The enemy is bigger than 1 battleship my friend just as you are also. You might have repulsed the enemy this time, but you haven't won the war yet.

Still considering that most major engagement victories thus fat have all been on the 'dark side of the force' so far its nice to see traders/corporates/miners repel an enemy assault.

Once again congratulations, but maintain your humility. You aren't fighting noobs.

Put another way, I'm trying to understand how your critique of TTI differs from: "HEY! TTI is in a regional alliance! And that regional alliance has (gasp!) pirates! And that's bad!" But you never explained why it is bad, especially given tons of other major non-pirate corps are in exactly the same kind of alliance.

So help me out here - why is it so newsworthy that TTI is in a regional alliance?

Hiro - I'll take the time to answer in detail and the question is also on the Gal-Summit forum.

FWIW some regional Alliances manage to not only do without pirates but actively avoid them and , indeed, any indivduals below a certain sec level.

What's "Interesting" with TTi is that for a "supposedly" lawful corporation its allowed itself to be manouvered into an alliance which, if it sticks by it, it must defend known pirates.

This is a paradox and how TTi resolves it, both publically and within its own ranks, is interesting.

It is also the largest single political crisis in EVE right now... it is "hot property".

The situation is not the same for SA (Stain Alliance) fairly simply because they don't really give a monkies what anybody thinks or that they cavort with pirates.

The SPC are "clean cut" through and through and represent a truly lawful "regional alliance".

The Fountain Alliance hasn't even gotten off the ground yet in reality - if its even around by the end of next week it would be an achievement.

Thus - only "poor old TTi" present us with an on-going drama.

Does the Corporation who, by needs, sells its goods to "everybody else" stay on side of good - or does it effectively say

"Please buy from us - just remember that if Pirates XY and Z attack and kill you, you musn't come after them anywhere near us , indeed if you do, we will attack you and defend them."

In all fairness to TTi it is almost without a shadow of a doubt they they simple failed to think about this.

They didn't realise they were making their own Catch 22 and publically walking right into it.

Ironically, for the membership, they are "only in this mess" because Mulligan Defense couldn't protect them inside Empire Space, ultimately the Empires and CONCORD are too blame, no doubts there, yet the Leadership of TTi have not solved the problems only exacerbated them.

TTi could have chosen to base themselves in another Region but they opted for Venal and they opted to ally with known pirates - thus creating their own problem.

[OoC]For the rest of us mere Plebians we are simply standing on the sidelines watching the drama unfold and with it watching EVE come alive as a living breathing "world".

Just bear in mind that in no other MOG could this happen on such a "global" scale. This is THE quintisntial advantage of a single-instance game, what affects one affects us all, it is not the mere "happenings" on another shard that nobody cares about.[/OoC]

The "future" for TTi is one where they either are with pirates, a deliberate chosen course of action presumeably backed by their members, or it choices some other future where it maintains its basis as a law-abiding Corporation within EVE.

As the single largest Corporation in EVE of course we are all interested.

"TTi shivers and we all catch a cold"

What the "man in the street" needs to know is:

"When we come to buy things from TTi, do we get to take them home or do we just hand them over to Space Invaders on the way out?"

For certain, if TTi stick with this alliance, anybody trying to get justice from SI at the point of a gun will find themselves also facing off against TTi.

Or will they?

Frankly - i think folks might just want to know?

I'm beginning to think none of you got laid last night. If you got a gripe against some corp, keep it between you and the corp. Please don't go sending your angst out among the people.

You don't like how strong a corp has become, deal with it using action, not petty words. Go start a corp war. Just know that if that corp is in an Alliance don't be surprised if you find more than one corp breathing down your neck. Alliances are very real, and they are there to protect themselves, and to profit. Finally, don't be surprised when they start out growing their regions.Confused

TTI are still full of smack talking care bears "Energy Drain Exploit!! wahahaha". Pathetic

rev wasnt logged you silly bear. he was shooting me as I did my part in destroying shollos.

oooh youve been in big battles. k?

we try to be somewhat good sports about the thing but get down played, heh. Sounds to me someone is trying to save some PR.

Next time youll come in more numbers eh? And like, while you gather that force the game just stops for everyone else? Zap it probably wont be the same force you face next time either.

And all this about, VA cant claim a victory because we sooo outnumbered them....so? Did we ask them to come to Venal? Should we just assume they want to have tea with us? Obviously they came to fight, and got dealt with.

Missed this on first run through sorry.

You're quoting BBBB info for "Morkt's Defence Weekly" - two different things Gaelen.

The Big-Bang Burger Bar is a food chain with shareholders, board of directors, chefs and so forth.

Im not sure how a Burger can be either pro-pirate or anti-corporation but either way it has nothing really to do with MDW.

Intriguing thought though.

Wrong ;) Rev went to bed way prior to that. The people that were there was Katchin, Me(Leyla), Rancid, Shollos, + Stavros at that last battle. I'm sure i would have seen and heard Rev on teamspeak and gang tab.

The people that were there when we first arrived were : Me, Katchin, Stavros, Rev, Lord Zap.

Morkt Drak, what the hell are you doing here? Stay of the thread. Lol.

Btw, you really came, saw 40 ships and logged off.

Later you followed with your Scorpions my little Blackbird to Y-4CFK and waited in front the station. So we made a new gang of 20 ships, took the risk undocked and warped to you.

Starvos has a big mouth for nearly loosing his Apocalypse and you all did run pretty fast as Shollos was down.

The Venal Alliance is a young alliance and we are improving constantly. This was just a fight and we might lose the next fight, but at the end of the day you will stay out of Venal. I am pretty confident in this.

"Somehow I think that the average Galactic resident will be somewhat put-out to know that after Space Invaders robs them, TTi will stop them from gaining retribution."

Won't they already be mildly put out from being robbed? ;)

At any rate, TTi isn't going to be defending our ships when we do robberies. ;) Unless of course, we happen to be policing the borders of Venal, but then, that's not pirating, ;) Anyone we rob will have plenty of opportunities to attack us without even needing to venture into venal.

And here is a point - suppose I rob someone in 0.0 space. Then I go into empire space with my positive sec rating. Won't the average galactic citizen be put out to realize Concorde will come to my aid if he tries to extract revenge? I hardly think you can blame TTi for something Concorde, the defender of all that is just and holy, is also guilty of. ;)

"When we come to buy things from TTi, do we get to take them home or do we just hand them over to Space Invaders on the way out?"

As you can probably imagine, we aren't pirating people coming to buy things from the alliance in Venal. They get safe passes, etc. ;)

So basically, TTI is no more guilty of consorting with pirates than is Concorde, or any other corporation who sells items on the open market. ;)

There is no point in this topic. Lemme summarize it for ya: m0o and sinister came to venal, traded a battleship and then retreated. They don't plan to stop bothering the alliance. TTI is a part of the alliance and they dont give a **** who thinks what about them. Venal is not a pirate alliance, it is a military coalition that includes pirate corporations' fighters, professional combat pilots, that are willing to protect the interests of the alliance. Ok, now we can safely lock the thread cuz it got boring when the newspaper guy started posting.

As to CONCORD - well we know how totally corupt they are - you'd have trouble finding anybody who ISNT already put out by them.

I feel sure that your post has reassured eveybody that yourselves and TTi have a good working relationship though.

Ever think of the impression that all these pirates posting in support of TTi gives a distinctly "odd" impression?

I feel sure that your post has reassured eveybody that yourselves and TTi have a good working relationship though.

Ever think of the impression that all these pirates posting in support of TTi gives a distinctly "odd" impression?

Concorde corrupt? Are you sure? I don't see them as corrupt - they do an excellent job of enforcing the rules that govern them. Just because you personally don't agree with the rules established and maintained by the state doesn't mean they are corrupt. ;)

Concorde pays us pirates quite well to remove those they view as threats. Morever, they will defend pirates inside their jurisdiction, as long as those pirates only commit crimes far outside concorde jurisdiction.

Does this make Concorde corrupt? I don't think so. They only have limited resources, ships, and manpower, so they make what compromises they must in order to keep the areas they are tasked to defend secure.

(The wonders of windowed mode! :P)

At any rate, TTi is not the offical organization formed and paid to protect the galaxy - Concorde is.

And Concorde's official rules, to which they adhere religiously ( not a hint of bribery of corruption from Concorde :P), are far more permissive of pirate behaviour than TTi's. In fact, Concorde pays us, which TTi does not. ;)

To speak of TTi being 'piratical' is therefore, as ludicrious as speaking of Concorde as being 'piratical'.

Ok Morkt, you caught me.

I have to admit - Setec, Morpheus - heck all of the VA - they really don't exist. They are clever computer programs written by l33t TTI s0fT\/\/aR3 hAKz0rZ, all with the express purpose of being ebil.

Err, wait - they exist, but we brainwashed the entire alliance. Yep, every one of them is our lapdog. We supply them with their ships (using isk we stole from your wallets during market transactiosn remember), modules to mount (collectde during downtime from the pirates), and even tell them where to engage in their piracy (wherever we want the competition owned - and they do a damn fine job of it!)

And don't forget, m0o is our lapdog and TTI's responsibility too. We get ebil kudoz for whatever they do. I'm not exactly sure why, but maybe you can help me here and provide the reason for it?

Hell, I wonder if we can take credit for Sharks With Lasers or whatever they are called? Wait, I know: "TTI created sharks with lasers to they would HAVE AN EXCUSE (I think this is especially clever) to go to VA and TAKE IT OVER, therefore OPPRESSING EVERYBODY - in the VA or our of it. This is THE BIGGEST POLITICAL ISSUE OF ALL TIME and not only that but CONCORDE IS CORRUPTED BY TTI, and especially those TTI CONTROLLED GUERISTAs."

How am I doing? BTW, does your defense weekly writer position pay a good isk salary? I don't work for free!

Remember people: TTI is the ebil that goes bump in the downtime. Twisted Evil

Mustafa Ken'Yova, Im not talking about the cost of replacing battleships. Im talking about the utter lack of boredom that will ensue for the zerg known as TTI.

I don't really play anymore, but just for the record the corp I was playing with was SINISTER ;p

This is exactly the same type of thing that happened in DaoC when my guild and Sinister were the backbone of Hibernia's war effort on Merlin at release. Got to the point where to keep the midgard hordes from taking Crimthain we had to sit on 24 hour watches, we wore out after about 2 weeks and quit enmass.
