As a casual ice miner, these changes are great. Anything that makes it harder for BOT's is a good thing.
Some of the claims in this thread are pretty ridiculous, claims of Normal ORE belts all being empty within an hour of Downtime, maybe try going more than one jump from Jita?
Also if CCP wants more people mining ice in low/null, adding ice mining capability to the venture is the way to go. As it stands, the small increase in income far outwieghs the costs/risk of taking a mining barge/orca etc into low. |

Depending where you are I think some ice anomalies in high sec are being cleared within an hour. But this is happening in busy areas only which are not only in the Jita area. Ice anomalies in other places can last over three hours. I think where it was busy in ice fields pre-Odyssey the resident player population has not moved and therefore those ice anomalies will be cleared very quickly. Best to relocate if you are based near those places. |

my opinion of this,.. hilarious!
Ice mining went from easy to impossible.. ice belt deplete after 10-20 mins.. i don't even reach to get full load in my Retriver. Only place viable for mining ice now is 0.0..
Is this really what you guys wanted with this change ? make skill queue for 6543634 high sec pilot's worthless ?

That is perhaps for some busy systems but definatly not for all. Where I "live" the ice belt i up for usually 6-8 hours, and sometimes longer. Maybe you should move some place where there is less competition? |

If you want all the ice you can mine then move to null sec. There are tons of spawns that no one touches. If you are going to run a Mack or two it is easy to dock up if unfriendlies show up. Of course, if you are going to run a tard mining fleet of 14 Macks, 2 Orcas and a Freighter it may not be the place for you. |

Why i must move to nullsec and become a slave of any alliance? The most absurd decision of CCP is to cut imperial ice off. Do you really think it will help somewhere against the bots? Just spend one day to learn the real situation - bot feels no difference how to work - without any break or with 4 hours delay before the ice anomaly spawns again. And a human player feel this difference, because now he must not only wait for anomaly spawn, but mine it in a rigid competition with bots. In the terms of gamedesign this is an epic fail. |

Regarding clearance time per ice anomaly it does vary greatly depending on area and racial type. I imagine Caldari high sec is probably the fastest cleared given that Caldari towers are most popular for the extra CPU in high sec. But I regularly see anomalies lasting over two hours and its not uncommon to see them lasting well over three hours.
Indeed, this is happening on a regular basis in some Hi Sec Caldari systems these days. I imagine it's a similar trend in other regions with various ice types.
The ice is there.
The miners, during "peak periods" no less,... not so much.

I love people who comment on moving to 0.0 without any experience.
Your "slavery" to 0.0 alliance consist of paying 1B per month, and you have your own system and you can do whatever you want. And if you are serious miner, you can mine that in a day or two :D
Oh, how horrible they are ! |

Or, being part of the (admittedly small) industrial wing of the bigger alliances ... One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |
