The only discussion I see is about the sources of impact (trade vs military) and extent of the impact of each source (high/low value, short/long term).

Sometimes I get the impression that the Goons are far, far too proud of themselves for, you know, participating in a game like everybody else.

Lot of stockpiles may exist but that is also weighed against consumption. If every player and his mother were still having gallente POS's burning fuel for moon material reactions for weeks after this ongoing fiasco, in addition to current use of gallente capitals that's going to burn into the supply. Doesn't matter how much you got, if demand of countless POS's and capitals is burning into supply like crazy.
Prices decreased a bit only because stockpiles were released. But ingoing supply is still dead, with demand still very strong so long term who knows how much it will rise. The carrier and super of choice is gallente, so that will not help, along with the ORE ships that use it.
The choice of oxygen was a very strategic choice, also, to end the siege of it would bring things back to normal, why would they ever want that. If they got the power to blockade all empire ice then they could consider that, but no reason to yield on the oxygen isotopes.
Anyone smart should have switched out gallente POS's a while ago to ammar, bite the 100% storage bonus for 50%. But yea....... this is long term, could get worse. |

Well if you want to talk about the impact on other people's feelings then pack your bags and move it over to C&P. This is market forum. Your impact here was to change a couple of ratios on a spreadsheet. I know you are desperate for some sort of validation and lord knows I don't want to deny it to you but you are barking up the wrong tree. To a trader it's just a new ratio and our thing is to find out how to make it benefit us. Me I'm in hardware not fuel so i switched around my product line. It ain't rocket surgery. |

Depends on who you mean by 'People', do the Goons themselves count? The significance is obvious to most here; economic warfare has been suggested/predicted/lamented for years and the real significance is entirely missed and ignored by those responsible in this case.

Which goes back to the original question. How big are the stockpiles and how long will Goons have to keep up this (rather boring) interdiction of all of the ice fields in Gallente space? (And Oxytope prices have been flat-lined at 900-1050 ISK/u for a few weeks now, hardly a "skyrocket".)
Some people predicted skyrocketing prices within a week or two (didn't really happen, most of that was market manipulation & speculation). Others predict 2-3 months at a minimum. There's also the strong possibility that large industrial folks, being somewhat paranoid about supply and probably swimming in ISK, keep 6-12 months of fuel on-hand in order to ride out bumps in the market or supply chain. |

I don't consider this a valid response, and I would prefer it if you don't respond to me at all in the future if you can't summon even the semblance of a coherent interaction worthy of my time.

So, if that screenshot is not a fake, someone gom 6 000 000 iceblocks??? That is 1.8 billion units of topes, enough to fuel jita for close to 2 months.
Now, since I believe this image to be from the test server i will still go ahead and change out my tower since only a ****** would sit on his stockpile in todays market.
6000000 / 100 macks = 60 000 blocks each 60 blocks an hour = 1000 hours That means this would take 100 macrominers more than 40 days to mine.
Now that no macro is efficient, that is 4 months for 100 people mining 8 hours a day..
I do not think this pile exists. I have however petitoned the person in question and asked CCP to check where (if it exists) that ICE came from, and if he has traded with know macrominers. |
