... destroyers + tracking skills (or just an interdictor)... a webber or 2 + favorite weapon on a bigger ship... having backup... or any mix of the above...

We are a pair of caracals being harassed by an experienced inty pilot... How should we fit our ships?

assault missile launchers and a web on each of your ships for starters. That'll slow him down enough to get the transversal nice and low. Add in some ballistic control in low and a nos in high and you should have him crippled :)

Gila (faction Moa) with assault launchers or a NOS-drone-EW ship like the Curse.

YES.
Otherwise, the little bugger will keep warping off, repairing, and coming back in, pestering you eternally.
If there's two of you, one 1pt/20km per ship should be fine. Alternatively, if the inty is extreme close range, you might get away with a single 2pt/7.5km.
If, for some god-forsaken reason, the inty pilot has 2 WCS mounted, you win. If he has 2 WCS and even somehow manages to pod you both back to 10k skillpoints, you still win by default.

I've got the impression light drones were rather effective.
though its not from personal experience, its what I'd try. webbing also sounds very good.

Precision lights take them out easily, especially when a webber comes onto the scene. Painting helps a long way too. NOS quickly disables their mwd. Light (T2) drones eat interceptors.
May ways to go, best combine a few. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

If the inty is just lockade running - you probably dont take it out with out a bubble.

Jammers work OK at getting inties to go away, since they have horrible sensor strength.
But to actually kill one, yeah, you need double webs at the very least, preferably with nos thrown in.

Caracal's are Uber Anti-Inty ships. Take the following example.
Highs: 5x Assault missile Launchers
Mids: 0-1x 10mn AB 1-2x Webbers 1x Target Painter 1x 20km
Lows: 2x Ballistic Control Systems
Fit named where ever possible.
I guarantee no inty is going to last longer than a few vollies against that.

Instapop them with a high damage ship when they first warp in, such as an artillery based cruiser.
Use ships with multiple webbers. Or one webber.
Use high tracking weapons.
Use drones.
Basically, anything that can track them, or slow them down enough for you to track them, or can kill them before they get up to speed. Inties - like most frigates - cant tank very well if theyre taking constant damage or a lot of damage over a short period.

Viable options are :
any frig / AF / Ceptor with a webber
Interdictor / Destroyer with webber
Cruiser / BC / BS with frigate guns and a webber
Small (t2) drones on any ship (may need a webber)
Large Smartbomb and webber on a BS (will need to get close)
Nos + small guns (or webber and med guns) on a Battle Cruiser (or BS)
SKILLZ!

As stated 5 Heavies with Precisions are enough. You dont need to fit anything in mids and lows. He wont warp away in time and he doesnt really need to be webbed. Use tackling mods -EW - armour tank if he brings 111 friends with him.

Edited by: Cordt on 01/05/2006 12:04:23 It doesn't even take dual webs to take out an inty. I've taken out several in my Brutix and Thorax with nothing more than a ~82% web, medium tech 2 blasters and medium tech 1 drones. Just don't try it with Void ammo loaded in the blasters. Takes goddamned ages. Antimatter works, though.
EDIT: I should note that this is not the optimal way of taking out inties in larger ships. What the guys above me posted is probably infinitely more efficient, but a single decent web and maneuvering for low transversal works wonders.
