congratulations to the whole eve-tv team - you did a great job, it was so much fun to watch!
thx to all participants for showing carebears like myself how to play that game
and finally ... please consider releasing a DVD - I couldn't watch everything due to download volume and have the feeling I missed a lot _______

Actually Ifni did a great job, not only knowing facts but also understanding what is asked of him. Stavros on the other hand... oh well.

Maturity? EVE has a long and glorious tradition of egotists, blowhards, and insane amounts of smacktalk.
Stavr0s was great.

What the frack is wrong with you people, the lunacy is what made it... special. If it became sanitised and dry you'd lose half the fun. Stav an Spiral completely *****ing up on Saturday(?) was just too funny :)
Spiral, JJ, Stavros and ifni did an excellent job and they shouldn't change it for the world... apart from maybe bring in Al Haquis(s?) full time... :)
Great job and respect to everyone that wasn't infront of the camera as well.
To the professionalism/anti-stav/anti commentator lobby... have you thought of just self podding? Maybe your clones will re-activate with a clue and sense of fun. That or stop listening to stabbyripstabstab. |

Agreed, if stavros wasn't so*****y, I wouldn't of watched the show.

Maybe in the future you should work with some delay, letting the commentators see and analyze the fight before running it past the viewers, there would also be time to cut in some different shots and angles to match the commentary.
It being live it was plenty of 'oh eh-hum, maybe he is, no he wasn't's.
Remind me about The Maze.

I disagree. Even in football I hear that on occasion. e.g; Now Ronaldo passes to Rooney, oh wait no, that was Ruud. Oh wait no Rooney is beating Ronaldo to death, oh no sorry that was my imagination.
Also you have to give them credit, there are a lot of ships, drones, etc that can be used. They did quite a good job naming, giving opinion, and other of the sort in my opinion. Also, they couldn't always get a clear view of who was transfering to who and what not due to the fact that there were 9000 lightbeams on the screen.

Do you think that the video quality would have been a little better if they would have had it in widescreen rather than full? It seems to make everything more detailed and when there are a bunch of torps hitting a ship it makes a truely nice explosion wave.
But all and all, it was a great 6 days. I hope there will be some other type of Eve TV episodes in the future they could cover topics like watch us catch this macro miner and pop his ship. Would have some entertainment value.

hrm. first post... got pulled into trying this from the TV stream. :)
Originally by: spiralJunkie i've worked with the man, he's funny, intelligent, knowledgeable and knows exactly what to say
Is this when he's compared to what, exactly? a prepubecent teenager? I personally found his "funny" to be shamefully purile and immature, his "intelligent" to display the sort of petulant attention-grabbing I expect from a ten year old, with the sort of behavior of a socially inept chav. While his insight into eve might well have been knowledgeable, everything else that came out of his mouth displayed nothing but idiotic ignorance.
Ruined the show for me. Perhaps next time his place can be taken by something a bit more cultured. like bacteria.

Lunacy agreed, wacky even better but maybe four letter words and the manhood measuring contests should be kept a private teamspeak.

Oh dear. Its a game, if I wanted to watch deadly serious people on telly I'd watch the news about the Palestine-Israel conflict.
I dont know how old you are but I'm 27 and the older I get the less mature I get by your definition.

Agreed I loved every minute of it apart from my little girl shouting "Daddy the man said a naughty word, f**k" ......
I have no problem with adult content but maybe a warning so the speakers are off and the head phones are on ....

A lot older than you but as the previous post suggests "with speakers and children"
As to my orginal post .... the idea was to give feedback but if you can only live with it when its positive then maybe the topic should be removed of the forum.

I perfectly understand your logic, and its valid.
Maybe rating events such as this pg/pg13 in the future would be an answer?

Lemonde talked about maybe making the tournament a regular event... and if so, i think EveTV will be back. They all seemed to enjoy it... and most of the viewers did too. Personally i dont think ive ever been so excited about a computer game as when i saw the semifinals with bob. I was typing like a 13 year old kid on irc and lost my right to speak in the end.

I don't mind having stavros there as a side show, but he's not an expert on the game and has been inactive for quite a while.
The biggest problem I noticed was that none of them seemed to have a clue about what happened in the North of EVE, and I find it incredible they hadn't heard of Morsus Mihi. "Hobbes, she stepped into the Perimter Of Wisdom.Run!" |

Honestly, you should have been watching CNBC or some Jerry Lewis telethon, it might have bene more pleasing to someone with such discerning taste as yourself.

Thanks alot to all who made this possible. I had great time viewing the competition and the additional material was allso great.
Id hope to see the whole event as a proper recording upped to eve files or made into a torrent share. If that is possible offcourse.

Yeah they did a very good job all things considered with the dynamics of forfeits and the tourny not going the way it was expected for teams to advance. Knowledge level was like a roller coaster, but what else did you expect? You can't know everything. Eve players on the otherhand are consumate perfectionists, so anything less than pinnacle is free game for slagging :)
As a paying subscriber, I am impressed that CCP held the event and made EVE-TV available. It was nice to see some other Eve players plus the CCP environment and the side bar footage of CCP personnel interviews. Really sets Eve apart from other online games.
I do have to fire a shot at Stravos - dude, you need to change your pants:
1. Those are so mid 80s. And no, they aint cool. Unless you are married to Cindi Lauper or something. 2. No wonder Ifni was complaining about having to bunk with you - I hope you changed your underwear more often than your pants.
Naner naner.
Props out to all the teams particpating. Good entertainment. But for the life of me, I can't see how IAC was considered a favorite. They had an easy prelim bracket and lost a match where their opponent had a major ship CTD in the finals round. Mind you it was against BoB, but even still who in their right mind would think IAC even had a chance against MC or ASCN?
