Is it possible that the show could be put up on repeat so that those of us in timezones far out of GMT can watch it all the way through again? ---
What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?...
Player of the character "Amarii Oulasangeri"... or is it Andre Ricard? Bah, this little SpaceDrake can't seem |

I guess that hits the nail on the head. So, more women = fluffers and women != gamers jokes for us then because there are more people who find it funny then who don't

Hmm let me see... they were being really sexist and I'm a woman. I wonder how I could be offended at that...
And the constant sexual references? It just wasn't needed. They could have concentrated on the actual event in hand and it would have been a lot more entertaining.
But obviously, you're a little boy who still laughs at ***** jokes. Shame really.
Funny, I dont know any females that are offended this easily. You are appearently one of the very few that have problems dealing with things like this and are taking it as a personal attack of some kind. I know you guys exist... there are political female groups in my country that think men are animals (in a very negative way). You want the number?

Why cant you just smile at it and have a good time? If there had been 3 females in that sofa, commenting about how that Apoc sure looks alot bigger than any equipment any guy you've seen have had, you think these forums would be filled with angry men? No. They would be filled with men having a real good laugh about it.
You are overly sensitive to these sort of things. What is your reasoning behind these things being offensive in the first place?

Didn't one of the guys on the sofa comment on how phallic shaped the Apocalypse was during that match with the Machariel? ___________________

Being insulted may be funny to some people, but it gets repetative after a while.
First of all, you are not a minority. There are more females than men in this world currently i think. Im not saying that being insulted is funny. Im questioning the opinion that men joking about wimen is somehow insulting. We dont mean it as a insult. Its a joke and I dont think anyone views wimen in a negative way because we smile at the jokes.
I know most guys love wimen. You are beautyful things and we want to have "relations" with you and spend our lifes with you. Why would we do this if we didnt like wimen? Does it many any sense?

Maybe if the jokes were directed to her specifically, then yes, and even then it is just better to roll with the teasing and not get upset about it. It just encourages people to tease you even more if you throw a fit. Kind of like how it is happening now with regards to Hiro.
Originally by: Jim McGregor Now that you mention it, yeah. Guess we should all be offended because we dont have ****s the size of Apocs. Well, at least not all of us do. :)

I think the overall production level was good. However, I agree with others expressing a sentiment that the commentary was unnecessarily vulgar and sexist, even though I am not female.
It's not about political correctness, it's about looking and sounding stupid. The subject matter is tournaments between virtual spaceship pilots and there is a lot of interesting things to say about tacticas, setups, etc.; the sexual humor is totally forced and comes across not as witty, but as desperate compensation and having nothing intersting to say about the real subject matter at hand.
You will find generally in the games industry a lot of guys who talk about women this or prostitutes that in a deragotary way because they think it makes them sound cool. But no one is fooled, they just look like bigger dorks and ultimately get none of the sex they desperately crave because they are so toxically offensive no real women would go near them (this is a hint, guys).
Therefore, great job with the coverage and production quality in general, but, please be professional and keep the dorky, forced sexual humor out of it. It makes you and the Eve commmunity look bad and is embarrassing to watch. Also, please stop referring to 'raping' ships and etc. - it's not funny and reveals a limited vocabulary. I've banned people from my corps in the past for using this language as it is very insulting to the female members (yes, they do exist).

To his credit, the presenter did look really uncomfortable for a second when Stavros started talking about rapage. I'm kinda wondering why the discussion went downhill so fast tho.. (Sorry but I had no idea what fluffers were, like many things I've learnt from teh intarweb, I'd rather I could forget again).

WOOT!!, EVE-TV was really good, though i went out so i missed the "rape" talk etc (thankfully). You guys and lady are doing a fantastic job, even with the teething problems of no sound, and i cant wait to tune in tommorow to watch the next rounds of pwnage.
The interview with the artists waqs cool, especially watching aesgir talk about his inspirations for ship designs. I shall be watching todays show with great interest and hoping that EVE-TV will continue to broadcast. Hell, id love to work on EVE-TV (any job vacancies ER? CCP? )
oh, and I now officially love the nighthawk, uber tankage and a pair of large brass ones for its pilot Killing Smurfs without prejudice since 1978 |

I watched nearly all of it and it was a good show by CCP and the EVE TV crew.
I didn't get the fluffer "joke" so thanks for the explanation of what a fluffer is. Towards the end they did seem to get more juvenile and pushing sexist remarks in which aren't very funny.
DJ Xmen had some painful moments when he didn't know what ship was what and if they were faction or tech 2 as well as the bouncer drone comment. His strong point is that he is a good blabber who can go on and on, his weak point is that often its something totally unrelated or wrong.
Pretty much like watching football...

I watched the whole broadcast, extremely impressive. Please don't change anything for the next airings, that includes the call by some to cool down the commentary.
1. These guys are there on their own expense, and providing colour commentary that adds to the quality of the broadcast. 2. Neither I, nor many others here, subscribe to the political correctness run amok mode of thinking. You truely are a minority in most places. Seriously, suck it up and shut up; everyone else manages to turn the other cheek when offended and tunes it out... it works, try it some time. I saw every commentator get burned by the mail-in questions as much as by anything they said could burn others. The world does not revolve around your personal sensibilities, grow some skin over your bleeding hearts already and realise that fact.

I kinda' shake my head at the 'evil' ness of the conversations going on in the broadcast being voiced here. You should have seen what was going on in the evetv irc channel. Compared to that, the eve TV broadcast was pure disney. Granted some things were a bit un-pc, but come on, this isn't network US television with censorship at every turn.
It never ceases to amaze me (in a bad way) how anonymity online lowers the intelligence quotient by a factor of about a million.
For pure sewage, sit in the eve IRC channels.
The broadcast was, imho, brilliant with rare exception, and yet another breakthrough by CCP and the EVE community showing why this is the best MMO ever devised.
my 2 cents. ----- ------------

Edited by: Urban Mongral on 15/07/2006 01:39:12 Hey guys
Well its very late but IÆm still working here, so I thought I would log in to give you guys some numbers regarding EVE TV.
Total Stream time: 6 Hours and 51 Minutes
Peak Simultaneous Viewers: 3414
Total Bandwidth used: 2.74 Terabytes
Number of new servers we had to add during the broadcast: 2
Thanks to everyone for watching, we all hope you enjoyed it and that you will tune in tomorrow.

P.S. Yes we are aware of the issue with the game clients being too dark (and as you may have seen, we had other issues with the modified client) CCP are working hard on a fix which will, with luck, be ready for tomorrows broadcast.

because I was actually there filming the tourney, I couldn't run the EVE TV....Did anyone out there get the entire show recorded? it's one thing to sit at the side of the ring to watch the blood fly, but you don't get all the bell's and whistles that made EVE TV entertaining....
