I would like to point out that my balls are NOT little! And yes, I was the useless noob that called an energy transfer a remote armor rep.
I'll have a play with the client, and try and make the 2 teams more obvious to tell apart, however I normally have less than 2 minutes to get setup between the matches, so I make no guarantees (and its not just a case of warping to the arena and locking targets, although its mainly that).

For camerawork and explosions, might I suggest enabling the advanced camera options? When you use "set as parent", it works like "look at", but the camera stays around for the explosion instead of resetting. It should also allow you to get some nice shots on moving ships via "set as interest".
My apologies if you're already doing this - it's next to impossible to read the text of the drop-down menus at 640x480. -Wrayeth

EVE TV is 102% awesome. I look forwards to the next weekend's broadcast. Hopefuily someone can make a torrent or something of the footage so we can grab the bits we've missed (managed to see about half of it myself.)
To all the people complaing about presenters: Personally, I think they're all good, though the guests each session always seem a bit out of place and perhaps underused in the end. Even if I know more in theory, I know I'd screw up just as bad if not worse when put on the spot. And EVE has a lot of ships... even after a year and a half in game I still get confused sometimes. As for alliances... it seems there's a new one every week and most of them don't post on the alliance forum giving a statement of intent :/ Doing a quick read up beforehand might help, but who knows... it's not like it is going to be automatically better.
Finally, I better say go POS just in case I get lynched for not doing so.

Absolutely amazing show. I enjoyed everything i saw (which was about half of the footage this weekend) and this surely sets some standards on how mmorpg companies can present a big event like this. I'm really looking forward to see the show next weekend, keep it up guys. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com |

You should be able to do this with Standings settings. I noticed during one match at least one view had half the teams set with a red - and the other half were alliance blue.
Simply set good standings with one and horrible standings with another and that should do it? Red vs Blue! :) -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | Visual Building Guide (Both work in game too!) |

Great work guys, this has been awesome to watch and is one of the coolest things I have ever see happen to a game. Thank you to everyone who has put in the time to make this happen. Looking forward to next week and hopefully more in the future.

OK, for those of us who, due to being frail human beings, had to sleep during the broadcasts, will there be some videos released of the transmissions. I am not askig that all of them get released at once, maybe one a week.
This way we can spread the Gospel Of Eve to those who have not yet heard the Word!

Really though, its quite good all round all things considered, especially as its in an infant stage of developement (no insult intended)
Whats the 'inspiration' formula for EvE Tv presentation anyway?, is it something you've thought is best for the format, or have you guys taken leads from east asian tv channels where FPS and RTS games are screened on a regular basis?

Absolutely brilliant stuff eve-radio/ccp.
and you too ifni and stavros.
Lastly, as info, some of the slash dotters were whining about the codec and the fact that EVE runs under windows only.
My newly updated screenshot below the sig should dispute that. --never thought I'd have a linux desktop with CCP and Oveur as well as EVE on it...was a great weekend.
The US feed, even during the slashin' was never lower than 339kbps and I saw the stream buffer just once. (US stream receiving it in Denver Colorado.)

And some highlights during "studio time" still would be nice imho.
Anyways, kudos to all the volunteers at eve tv... Please do this more often because i <3 EVE TV :D |

Compliments to Eve-TV! Made Eve a whole lot more addictive..
1 remark tho. After our match yesterday, one of our alliancemembers got dissed by one of the commentaries. That wasnt really necessary imho. We are in it for fun and not to be dissed at :) Just stay neutral and if they have personal vendetta's dont express it on that TV-broadcast..
For the rest, keep up the good work :D

Just a couple of points I'd like to make:
The client/view worked swimmingly, with the alliances on left and right. And destroyers/interdictors not staying on either view for long (Hint: give them armour to go between shield & hull).
My one beef was the resolution - when you sat still I could *almost* make out the ship silhouettes in the target pane, but never any names. But when you moved the camera... ugh. :( Everything degraded to hopelessly pixelated chaos and I could not even read the damage bars 80% of the time. :/
Next time: Beef up the resolution, please. Offer different resolution streams, perhaps. 640/480 even using fixed media player client window was hash most of the time. -

Well done EvE-Tv, so far i have enjoyed seeing a huge guy on the sofa with a mohican dwarfing the english guys and that other guy with the long hair and beard who is uber intense but also so laid back i'm sure he is sleeping between being asked questions.
The commentary has ben great fun giving all my pedantic idiot corpmates stuff to shout about in chat.
Fights have been good to watch as well, certainly beats watching the telly in the UK. Keep up the good work*.

EDIT: Geeze, I just reread my post and it unintentionally comes off as completely arrogant and condescending. Guess I haven't lost my touch.
I don't know if he's doing exactly that, but I noticed that after he missed one because he was looking at the exploding ship, every time after that he's been looking at another ship and just getting the soon-to-explode ship in view.

I'd like to hear their thoughts on EVE-TV, looking back on the process, and their opinions of the final product.

Is there any chance you could avoid block like artifacts? Maybe you could run more deblocking filters and consider a small delay for the price of a better stream quality. Perhaps even reduce the resoltion to 512x384 keeping the rate at 460 kb/s thoguh and please advise the Ingame-cameramen not to rotate the camera too fast if many particles are visible ( e.g large explosions ).Please just do your best to avoid as many artifacts as possible! It was really annoying watching crazy artifacts on screen instead of the matches

Eve TV dies after the tournament? Please god no!
Why not make a short like, 2 hour feature once every week, mebbe a longer one but with an added subscription cost, it would be the kewlerest.

I feel like CCP is really embarrasing itself with the poor handling of Eve-TV. I have yet to be able to view this, but the website says nothing about it only being available at exclusive times. Furthermore, its implied that we can watch old broadcasts.
Many more people tried to view this than just current eve players. Its really shameful. The eveonline website has never been well operated.
