I thought that was brilliant. Good stream and the commentary was good.
Is there a link to anyone taking bets on these matches?

Well I'm glad I missed that bit. I'd have walked away from it immediately if I'd heard that.

Don't like it, don't watch it IMO. They are doing an awesome job, and you are not forced to watch anything. I ust say i loved every minute of it, and really, watching the real television i see far "stronger" stuff on there even before the watershed so i do not really see a problem.

To those whining about the experts/commentators:
These guys aren't professionals, they are volunteers who've sat in front of a camera LIVE for over 6 HOURS and asked to talk sensibly. This isn't the BBC, of course a few bits and pices will slip out. I found the broadcast fantastic personally.

The only problem is normal TV not showing the world for what it really is, and people believing what they see on it. Just because things are black & white in the tv-series doesnt make it so in the real world.
I can agree that the *****joke was too strong. We dont want more of that crap, please. But seriously, i can understand things like that happening because people say things without thinking sometimes. The rest of the show was fine and quite funny i think.
The ones being offended should take a look at themselfs and think about if they really believe the guys are hating wimen or if they are just making a damn joke.

Have to add my praises here as well! This whole thing was so well done, that i'm not surprised some people assumed the commentators and hosts were professional! ;) Which they aren't, as everyone should know. They aren't paid for being there afaik, but are there ONLY to entertain us, and themselves while they're at it.
So for all you there who whine about it: time to look in the mirror, maybe? Did you pay for this service? Did you still watch it? Could it possibly be that the language was even cleaner than here in the forums or ingame, or even in your own corp-chat? This whole event was brought to you by fellow Eve-players and not BBC-world.

Eve TV is the most awesome free feature ever provided by a MMOG.
Now just raise the quality/stage of the live coverage/moderation a tad and you are a legend. ;)

Edited by: Gwarnina on 15/07/2006 09:54:10 Amazing show, I wonder if the average number of ships destroyed took a nosedive on the charts, with everyone watching EVE TV, instead of shooty shooty.
In the likelyhood that single fights will be available for later viewing, which were the most memorable moments you would all recommend to see? .

Most of the people i know say EveTV is awesome, problem is atleast for me that im sitting on a 512/256kbit link in Thailand and im happy if i get a max speed of 20-40kb/s here so its impossible to watch ehe EveTV so why not save the files and throw them up on thepiratesbay.org as torrents or something like that so even the persons that dont have the internet connection to watch it can download it and watch it later on.

I think it would be good PR if those videos made it to the file sharing networks too.

I liked the coverage a lot.
My idea of a few improvements:
Leave the damage UI thing on all the time Get the commentators to read the rules and learn the ship's names/roles a bit better More of Tyrrax (sp?) stroking the couch and/or himself
As for the comments about it being inappropriate/whatever, what do you guys do in real life? Just sit with your eyes closed, your fingers in your ears and hum in the hope that nothing offensive will get through? The news is more offensive than that, some advertising is more offensive than that, most TV on after 9oClock is more offensive than that, most things said by those you kill in Eve are many times more offensive than that. Pretty much all of the internet is more offensive than that. Whats the problem?

Hello all,
Read through all the posts and I do take them in (dorky "we are listening"). I know that there was a few comments that offended some and yes we will look into that. Please note this was the first ever broadcast, six hours and the host and experts were putting in so much work, not to mention the entire crew.
Because I am in charge I am really the one you can chase after with whips, I am not looking to have any of the content offend anyone, with that being said thank you to everyone for the feedback.
I do hope that you tune in today and enjoy the matches. ------------- Director of EveTV http://www.eve-radio.com http://www.myspace.com/djxyliana

Noo... i think most of us liked the "sports" feeling of it. Without the zooming in, changing of angles etc it would just be static and pretty boring. Watching energy bars go down isnt very exciting. I think the switching back and forth was pretty cool. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

The content will always offend someone unless you dont talk at all. I really hope you dont make the show boring now just because you got a few negative comments. Most of us loved it the way it was. Remove all the silly jokes and you will get a pretty static show i think.

No one is saying it wasn't a joke - they're saying it was inappropriate and offensive. They know it's offensive because they heard it and felt offended, not because they sat down and came up with a deliberate, malevolent plan to spoil everyone's fun by pretending to be hurt.
If you accidentally say something tactless when chatting to your friends of an evening, you just apologise and try not to do it again, don't you? That's all that's called for here and I think that's all that's being asked for. |

Edited by: sandshark on 15/07/2006 12:19:34 I really enjoyed EVE TV yesterday, and im looking forward for today's broadcast.
But if the health (lock) UI could be applied to the other camera angles as well, that would be awesome! Lighten things up as sayd before but i see thei're allready working on that. And some female comments are allways appriciated as well.
Some other idea is perhaps to show some "highlights" of the last match whilst commenting them the studio, or some interviews with the teams (TS and Vent ftw)? It's not that i don't like the 4 dudes in the studio, but some highlights and interviews would be verry nice now and then.
I would want to say, CCP & EVE RADIO, this is awesome, thanks, please do this more often? :)

HI EVERYBODY!
I, your lord high Stavros, king of maturity and pinacle of the eve expert community have some comments that I will now share with you...
I am arrogant because I am great and I totally know what I'm talking about ALL the time, even when I look like I don't, its just because i'm thinking too much about surprise sex, fluffers and clowns.
I respect the fairer sex totally, especially when they get in the kitchen and make me some pie. In light of this I think its safe to say that any comments about fluffers that MAY or MAY NOT have been made by Ifni were totally out of respect for what I think is an amazing profession done by serious, 'hard' working girls. For anyone to come on here and say that their job is degrading is quite frankly, an insult, these women work hard, without them we would not be able to have the repeated money shots and a whole industry would be at risk. I respect these individuals and you should as well...
I am also negative, I'm a very negative person, negativity is what I do. People posting about me being negative only makes me more negative, its a vicious circle.
Finally, I really want to here more of people's negative comments about my performance on here, please communicate them to me using the medium of stabbing yourself. If I can get some kind of sexual comments into my negativty I will do, this is because I'm great. If you take offense at this please see the method by which you can contact me below.
On a more serious note, I think the entire thing was amazing yesterday, the professionalism of the Eve-Radio staff here and the help rendered to us by CCP was nothing short of astounding.

I do want to say that I've never felt hassled in any way in Eve; when someone makes a smutty comment, it's done in such a way that I know they're joking and I laugh and answer in kind. It's vastly better than any other MMO I've played in, in that regard and pretty much all others as well.
