I'm not gettin the character portraits in EVEMon, do they download those from the forum? (as i'm not getting them here either) It works for my main, but not for my alts. Also implants inserted after dragoon dont seem to be detected either, but the training time matches the time in EvE itself.
Small glitches in a VERY handy program. Kudos!

EVEMon gets the character portaraits from the same place as the forums... even some of the GM's have not got portraits due to the generator being right royally borked atm.
Also, it seems to have spread to the implants... you need to find out which if any of your implants are being included in the XML then add the rest manually under 'More...' -> 'Manual Implants...' in EVEMon.
The reason the times match is due to EVEMon having to nab some stuff off the skilltree.xml page by actually parsing the text on that page... why they can't stick that in the XML heaven knows... but for now it works that way.

Edited by: Militis Kolosok on 04/09/2006 21:42:56 For some reason the download link won't enable the download. It just sits there waiting :( The old EveMon does not work for me (gives an error and blue screen of death if I reset settings) so I have to close it and can't plan my skills. Is there any other mirror to download from?
EDIT: I dled it, but it said that it is an invalid win32 application. Then I tried DLing it again, but the site died. x_x

Added them that way, not really a problem. As long as the training times match you don't hear me complaining. :)
And again many thanks for this uber tool.

I've gotten this error on two different machines I have for the same character with EVEMon. Just noticed this today, but haven't used evemon in a few days. Does anyone know what's up with this?
Also I see this path "C:\Documents and Settings\Tim Fries\" which does not exist on my system, and is not my name, either.

read the head post, go download 1.1.0 or higher.
Also, I'm tired of explaining who "time fries" and "acuff" are, but I'll give you the short version: that information is there for the people who compiled it, not for you. In the event of a real crash, that helps us figure out what your problem is. Just ignore it. And go get 1.1.0 or higher. We're up to 1.1.3 now. ------ {o,o} (__(| -"-"- EVEMon |

since 1 week ago i can't get eve mon to start. yes, i have the new version. everything was working fine until last friday i think. from that day everytime i start EVE mon, it doesnt start at all. not even a error message. it is like if i hadn't started the program at all.
according to windows task manager, EVE mon (as an aplication) is not running.
but there is a process called EVEMon.exe running at 18.688kb stable memory use, and a cpu use of about 55% (which suchs cause all my computer feels like ill when i try to run EVEMon).
i unistalled and reinstalled already twice, but the problem remains.
anybody knows what could be the problem?

Anyone tried the "debugging tool" version of EVEMon... it's in the directory called "Debugging Tools" in the EVEMon directory. In the Log file it generates, anything other than:
Quote: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <evemon-netlog />
means you have a network issue somewhere.
Oh, and version 1.1.2.181 suffers from a "directory not found" bug that is fixed in the cutting edge version.

I would think the debug-log would end up in the debug dir or the evemon-root, but it does not;
Some System Info: XP Pro, UK; Intell Centrino; NET-framework 2.0, all patches from windows update;
BTW, sorry for posting here, but @ battleclinic means just another account... i have enough accounts atm. Hope you can find the problem, succes with it

Thanks all for a fantastic tool!!
A question, would it be possible not only to show how much time required to fulfill certain skills, but how much Skillpoints, you have garned after end of the planned skilles?
It would be great to see for example that it would take like 120 days to complete that skill training queue, but it would be pretty cool to see that after the end of those 120 days you have earned 6.432.234 more skillpoints, giving a total of 124.543.234 skillpoints. And yes, this is just an example :)

I think it defaults to that users "My Documents" directory.
Oh and as to posting bug reports here... it's not optimal, I do look here occasionally... like once a month or so... but if you have a bug you really want someone to look at, the battleclinic site is the place to be (http://evemon.battleclinic.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/newticket) and remember to sign up there first...

If your antivirus is reporting the installer/uninstaller for EVEMon as having a virus. It is a false positive.
You can read more about this issue, and find a list of anti virus programs which report NSIS (the install software) as containing the virus. EveMon FAQ topic
NSIS is used by thousands of applications (and is developed by the same people who made winamp).

Is there anything weird I need to install or do to access this moron site
Why can't you just host the download somewhere a bit more civilized?

Awesome application. Everyone has done a great job. My only question really is when you create a plan, when a skill completes does it load up the plan to notify you of the next skill to do? Thanks

Unfortunately no, it doesn't... but with the IGB server loaded up you can look at your plans from ingame.... so long as they are both running on the same machine... which is cool.

You can copy your portrait from your EVE cache and put it in your EVEMon cache folder. 1) Find out your characters number. In Explorer go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\EVEMon\cache and see what .png files you have. If you can pick filmstrip or thumbnail view. Make a note of the long number before the .png eg 12345678.png 2) Have a look in C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\cache\Pictures\Portraits for files beginning with that number. They will have an underscore and size before the .png eg 12345678_512.png 3) Copy this second file to the EVEMon directory above and rename the file so it doesn't have the _512 on it. 4) restart EVEMon. Don't right click the portrait and do update picture or you'll undo all your hard work
Maybe the nice folks who work on EVEMon can patch it so you can it can get the portrait automagically from your EVE cache.

HTH.
Highly tempting to do just that... except you'd need to tell the software where your EVE install directory was... and also the lighting effects are added by the software somewhere... those cache images are modded somehow anywho cos they are far to dark compared to ingame... unlike the website version when it's working.

Damn fine program.....looks like a lot of ECM/EMS users maybe jumping ship...
I would also like to ask for a feature to help plan skills -- prices of the said skills, so when you plan your training regime, you know who much you need to spend. Most skills are the same cost no matter what region, apart from region specific ones, which are cheaper in their native areas.
