Aren't the base prices for the skillbooks present in the same data export that the ships and equipment came from? It's been a while since I perused that data.

I just decided to try out this tool and I get the same problem when trying to make a skill plan while using any xml file I have for my two characters on two seperate accounts. It works fine with the connection to eve but crashes with the same problem listed by the previous poster.
And great tool by the way. It made me dream last night that I could use it to reassign skillpoints to the way I originally had wanted my character to be 3 years ago and then I paid a fee like the potrait swap. You know you play too much eve when you have a dream about it.. Ah well, only a 368 days to get myself back to the way I first envisioned now that things are more balanced out. :(

I run 8 accounts and have used a combination of an eraser board and soo many scraps of paper to keep track of skill times/planning in the past. I literally log all 8 in 3-4 times a day sometimes to check my skill times etc. I normally stay clear of 3rd party programs as they are frowned upon-but when I noticed this one had a "sticky" on the forums I assumed it must be at least "not hated" by CCP. I had a very minor problem getting the prerequisite windows file updated (Microsoft site was on the fritz), but after that it was all peaches and cream. Now I get a message anytime any skill is done training (I normally have the sound off on 7 of the 8 accts), a real cool planner for future skills, and to see which accounts I have to switch skills on prior to shutting down I simply put a pointer on that sweet little icon on the bottom of my desktop to see exactly how long each skill has left on each account-and in ascending order no less!!
You guys are simply ****!!
My sincere thanks,
Winged

My EveMon doesn't seem to do anything. I downloaded it yesterday and uploaded my Saved Character XML data. But it doesn't save any settings, doesn't update anything, and doesn't seem to react to any skill plans I set.
What am I doing wrong?

Love this program. I liked EVE character manager too (each program has it's pro's and cons) but overall this is a better program and also the eve character manager never worked properly since about 2 months before the hardware upgrade.
ECM could have just spent some effort making it work again but instead we got evemon and ECM is obsolete, not that I'm complaining.

Thanks for keeping this program updated. It is a wonderful tool.
I noticed one problem with the current version (1.1.3.280). Right under the picture of my character it says "0 skills at Level V." I have several Level 5 skills. I don't pay a lot of attention to this statistic, but I thought I'd point out that that particular part of the program does not appear to be functioning properly.

There seems to be a new problem with evemon. (1.0.24.1 - latest afaik)
Program works, until you try and leave it - it then locks up and has to be stopped using Task Manager. I noticed that .NET Framework has recently been updated -something to do with that?
By the way, this is happening on two machines with different internals, so I don't thinkk it's the machine. At the moment, battleclinic.com doesn't appear to be working.
Any suggestions?

You might want to update that to something a little more recent.... that version is pre move to battleclinic... I'm amazed you can even get it running tbh.
When the battle clinic servers actually start behaving... I STILL can't get onto them for any length of time before they become "unreachable"... you might want to get the new version from http://evemon.battleclinic.com/. I'm working on getting a patch up for an issue with the estimated time to completion that shows when you first start EVEMon up after it's been off for a while, as soon as battleclinic comes back I can upload it.

I'm having the same problem and I'm using version 1.1.2.181 which should be the latest. Been like this for a couple of days and I remember that I did install some XP patches that came through the XP automatic updates on the weekend. Remember that it worked a little over a week ago.
Not a big thing killing it via task manager, just annoying...

Does anyone know why Evemon doesn't seem to include the actual "Learning" skill into account when doing plans? For example, I pick a new character, set a plan for a Titan or w/e and the only learning skills it reccomends are the actual attribute ones, not the actual Learning skill itself however.
Sorry if I've missed the answer, but I've looked through this entire thread and the evemon forumand couldn't find it. ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |

Hey, would a program that automatically trained new skills be against the rules? I still can't figure out if that is what this tool does, or if it just provides a place for you to plan skills.

In short: yes What Evemon does is let you plan your skill training route, along with showing you total time to reach a certain goal, and it will reccomend any learning skills which will reduced the overall time. ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |

This is just a nit.
Absolutely love this program, just noticed a small math error with no significant functional impact.
I am training Instant Recall 4 to 5. According to Evemon, I have trained 151,474 SPs out of 256,000 SPs, and am 50% done. 151k out of 256k is 59% complete.
Evemon version 1.1.2.181
I didn't read through all the pages of this post to see if this was a dup. If it is, ignore it and keep up the great work.

Aerich: are your implants correct?
Also, if you are crashing, GO DOWNLOAD THE NEW VERSION. If you post a crash log with "Tim Fries" in it, you're using an ancient version of evemon and you should be punished for your transgressions. ------ {o,o} (__(| -"-"- EVEMon |

Edited by: Aerich Vishkan on 26/10/2006 01:57:46 You have confused me. =)
I posted in my note I am using 1.1.2.181. When I go to the site in your sig (http://evemon.battleclinic.com/), I see that the latest version is 1.1.2.181, so I think I am good there.
I have never posted crash logs.
151/256 = 0.59, not 0.5 with or without implants, which is my nit. Again, not a major functionality issue at all. But when I am 59% through with skill point training, it says I am 50% through. Display issue only.
Still love the tool. ty!

I wasn't as clear as I could have been. the first line of my previous post was for you, the rest was for other posters :)
As far as the implant things... EVEMon gets the most accurate possible time to completion off the eve-online website. It calculates everything else in terms of skill points gained per tick based on your attributes. If your attributes in EVEMon don't match your real attributes, it's possible to end up with crazy things like you're describing as evemon tries to match up your real time to finish and your projected time to finish.
Please double check your implants and, if the problem persists, let us know here or at our forums or via a bug report. ------ {o,o} (__(| -"-"- EVEMon |

Edited by: Aerich Vishkan on 26/10/2006 14:13:33 Well, we all look a alike, with the tall skinny head and the dot below. Easy to confuse us.
Some details ============
My toon has no implants atm, and hasn't for several weeks. I've been playing in more dangerous territory and pod jumping around a bit. I have had them in the past, and they are hanging out in a JC someplace.
Under More > Manual Implants... pop-up box is blank.
I have successfully synched with the game many times since the implants came out.
I have 2 skills that have a % other than 0 or 100. Both calculate the % complete incorrectly.
"Electronics III (Rank 1) Level 3 SP: 20,819/45,255 34% Done" - Bug is 20,818/45,255=0.46 or 46%, not 34%. This skill is not actively being trained.
"Instant Recall IV (Rank 1) Level 4 SP: 180,590/256,000 64% Done" - Bug is that 180,590/256,000 = 0.705 or 71%, not 64%. This skill is actively being trained.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
