Edited by: Flax Volcanus on 29/11/2006 12:44:57 I run two accounts with two separate clients (i.e., not launching another instance of only one client). When i first patched and logged in last night, I could see those great new standings icons on the avatars in local chat. When I logged back in this morning, those icons are gone -- from one toon docked in Perimeter, and the other docked in Syndicate. What gives? That was one of the best new features of the game!
(I should add that there are both positive and negative peeps in the system atm, so I should see some of each type of icon in chat. Instead, I get nothing.) |

Seeing as threads else where are getting stamped on.
To reiterate what has been said about people should be deleting bookmarks now ccp has given warp to zero, I state myself and many others will not be deleting our bookmarks in protest to the fact a lot of us feel that this wtz was a cop out to the whiners, I'm not a pirate I'm not a bookmark seller im a trader but I do not support warp to zero in anyway it will cause issues that aren't balanced already. Low sec needs warp bubbles now it also needs warp bubbles to pull people out of warp mid flight.
There were numerous ways of resolving the bookmark stress on the server issue without changing the game so drastically, these we're discussed long before warp to zero was ever brought to players attention, also the community was no consulted on how they felt about warp to zero.
In reality my protest will make little difference unless a large number of people jump on board also. But if they do it kinda proves my point that this was an unwise decision.

I lost about 30fps with the patch. I believe this is due to the starfield from the rest of the cluster being visible in the background. I agree with the others who have asked if this can be turned off. -Wrayeth "Look, pa! I just contributed absolutely nothing to this thread!"

I have deleted all instas in the morning and I kindly ask all other players to do the same to reduce server stress. CCP should make it mandatory for everyone to remove their instas and also warn people who deliberately spoil their efforts and make the game experience worse by keeping the lag up.

Personally love the warp to zero.
Why?? It works just when you are in need and you do it manually.
If you are autopiloting through low space, it works just like before and gives pirates and others the same possibilities as before.
I also know that it wonŠt take long for ppl to find new and inventive ways to cause others harm by negating the jump to zero.

If it's a feature whoever thought of it should be sat in front of a strobe light in a dark room until they have a fit. I'm sure it's just a bug though. It's annoying and hopefully something not too difficult to fix.
The star field is a nice touch, but not very well implemented, as gas clouds don't block it. It would be nice to see some variation in the star intensities / colour as well. (They shouldn't 'twinkle' though, as that's an effect of seeing them through the atmosphere).
Camera re-zoom on jumping is a pain too.
Warp to zero is great :) Still appear to have all the BMs I hadn't got around to deleting yet though. Thought it was going to be an automated removal?
Only got to play for half an hour before downtime and heading into work but those were the first and most obvious things I noticed.

Probably mentioned before but I would like some sort of indicator to show a wreck has been searched/looted. It is a pain trying to figure out which ones you've checked.
Apart from that no real problems.

Here is the problem with "removing neutrals from the overview" - its defined as neutrals to either corp/alliance/personal standing. If a given ship is "neutral" to any of these then it doesn't appear on the overview. This means that if you haven't set an identical personal standing to the people your corp is -10 or war-enemy to then they will disappear from the overview along with the true neutrals you are trying to get rid of. The upshot is that removing neutrals from the overview is currently useless to anybody with any current enemies that aren't exactly replicated across the three types of standing.
The fix is to set it so any non-neutral standing setting for a given entity makes it appear in the overview, overriding the presence of individual null standings in the other standing types. Sheesh can someone explain this in a less confusing way please - my head hurts just saying it!

- Undock and warp somwhere using the context menu without doubleclicking in space makes your ship warp without engine flames
- Faction projectile turrets have no flying projectile when firing
- You cant zoom very close to frigs when using the "look at" option
- Wreck windows have the same size as the station hangar
- All overview settings are gone now

I find the contracts interface a bit lacking. It is much harder to scan than to old escrow interface and each entry uses multiple lines. It also needs an ability to sort by fields like escrow.
I suggest adding an option for a more streamlined interface that reduced the visual clutter that has been added.
Another suggestion is that the dimmed text for in the info field just makes it harder to read.

Wrecks kinda wrecks the fun
The constant checking rechecking and them not closing at all after looting was old after the first mission.
I know there are supposed to be skills to salvage them, but cant they close when the loot empties? or is there a small problem with that part because the can still be salvaged? Some of us wont have the skills for awhile.
If the changed color after they had been looted that might help some and some how were flagged as opened.
I know ;) just was strange to see SOOOO many wrecks all over the screen sitting there after i did a dead space complex a couple times.
A Couple of other thoughts as well.
Are these wrecks flagged as criminal if someone accidentally shoots someone elses?? because if thats the case I see more people dieing to can death while in groups etc.
They seem to stay tooo long if they are going to never go away too. If I ran through a dead space area 5-6 times there would be hundreds of these things floating around.
The only thing that can save you is a tractor beam as you can spread them out as your collecting them by moving at the same time.

Dude that little snide comment was pointless I've programmed in many languages at a professional level. And that wasn't the subject of the thread sll alternatives were discussed quite a while ago and it was simply agree that the best and most secure was of doing it was to store bookmarks client side and using hash's of an encrypted bookmark file to verify the file every time the user logs on, this robs the need to load bookmarks on every session or the need to pull bookmarks from the server on every session change. While is going to be secure from all but the most malicious of users. about 1 in every 100'000.
PS Put a frigged sort by price function on the contract system. Cmon thats nubbin UI design stuff, a professional company should not be making mistakes like this unless stuff is been rushed out ahead of schedual.

Some issues I am noticing though are:
While docked, if I open the map and choose a filter like jumps last 30mins, the stars seems to be very dim. If I go to system map and then back to starmap, it seems that the stars are brighter.
Also, unless I missed it, I think we need a "reset map" option to get it back to the correct angle and orientation.
there is definately LESS LAG!!!

"Null" standings (no standing set) should not be considered when working out for overview purposes if a ship is neutral, is what it boils down to. Currently they are considered and they automatically override other standings for some reason.

Sorting Manufacturing/Copying/Inventing slots in a station STILL sorts alphabetically rather than numerically.
EG:
1 Day 11 Days 12 Days 2 Days 23 DAys 3 Days 4 Days 54 Minutes 6 Days
This is made slightly less annoying by the fact that you can now tell it to only show the slot with the shortest time, except that the option is not the default, and the client does not remember my preference.
99% of the time, I know where I am producing/researching and simply want the slot with the shortest queue. However I am still presented with an unsortable list of slots (with associated lag time) which I then have to convert to a quick-view EVERY TIME I want to manufacture anything.
This is terrible from both a DB performance and usability point of view.
Also, the Cargohold optimization rig requires Astrometric Rigging I to research when all of the others I have looked at require Jury Rigging I.

Just to add another voice to this thread (which I know no one at CCP will read, else the mods wouldn't be locking new threads which bring this up; the more threads CCP has to see about this, the better, in my opinion, instead one which they can ignore):
FIX THE ****ED LOOT ALREADY. (deep breath)
One easy lvl 4 mission took me twice as long as usual because in order to find out which wrecks had loot, I had to check each. Everything you blow up now leaves a wreck, instead of only the ships with loot. I understand that by wasting slots on my ship I can probably salvage these wrecks (slots better used for combat mods is my reading of "rigs"), but like everyone else here I do not see the need to force players to inspect every wreck for pre-patch loot, and to make us blow these things up in order to determine whether or not we've checked it yet. This was well-intentioned, but clearly implemented without any regard to agent missions and agent mission runners. Can you imagine what a nightmare missions like the lvl 4 Extravaganzas will be now, just because of the looting?
If CCP wants mission runners to take this new salvage system seriously, they need to modify it or add filters/options for us. Otherwise, many of us, especially those of us doing lvl 4s, may stop looting altogether and just do missions for the bounties. What's the point in looting when it will double or triple the amount of time required to do the missions, in return for loot/salvage that may amount to a fraction of the bounties?
