QFFT, i've never seen anything so PATHETIC as these last few days of whining in almost 3 years of eve. Its one thing to smack a bit, be a little arrogent/cocky, but for gods sakes, if they would just listen to themselves before they posted...... christ, if its THAT BAD in your eye's guys, go play WoW!

In reality, if you've got a titan logged in and a substantial amount of alliance members engaged in combat, the titan ought to be aggressed because you are no doubt working closely with people who are engaged in combat. Simply being logged in with a titan during fleet ops could be conceived to be an act of agression. You don't log in with a titan to check prices in jita, after all. Logging in with one is a very deliberate act and people should know that if they do not do so carefully then they are likely to lose it.
If you use game mechanics to kill someone who was very likely to attack you if given the chance, I don't see the problem with that.

Anyway.. Trouble is what BoB did i think should be deemed exploit. But, CCP have not classed it as an exploit so its fair game. And although i think it was lame, fair do's for pulling it off. Its actions like this that can win a war, although this war is far from over.

I think this is the final time for CCP to decide what sort of gameplay they want.
Some nice pew pew or metagaming and stretching rules to their maximum and beyond.

Maybe, but I know two guys quitting the game right now because they have lost all faith in ccp and eve, and these are not guys directly involved in this conflict but are long standing players, with many accounts between them, one of whom even travelled to the fan fest last year, i.e. hardcore eve players and fans that have just lost all faith in the game.
You see this as a good thing?
People "whine" (though everyone who posts the opposite view to someone else is seen by that person as a whiner) because they are frustrated, are not getting answers, almost every major loss seems to be more about lag and sploiting game mechanics than it does about playing the game straight.

how is it an exploit to attack someone before they log off? Should corps be able to keep titans always at the ready and just log them off whenever the situation looks bad?

If they dont have a (genuine) aggression timer then yes ofc they should. its a game ffs - people have lives beyond it.

Your right. The real way to kill a titan is to get 600 people in a system, crash it for 3 hours straight, and then kill the titan with 600 in 'local' and about 50 active ships logged in and responsive from both sides.

No one "attacked" him, a corp mate and gang mate hit him with friendly fire in order to abuse a game mechanic in order to allow BoB to kill a logged off titan, again. That's cheesy at best even though it might not technically be an "exploit". I'm quite sure that CCP didn't intended the ability to fire on corp mates as the method of killing a titan.
Having a spy that close to a titan was genious on BoBs part. Had they waited till a fleet was somewhere and popped a cyno to fly in BoB's fleet, that would have been ballsy and well done. Had the spy been called main cyno for the titan and snuck off to a different area then called it safe and had the titan jump into a BoB camp, that too would have been class.
But exploiting friendly fire to get an aggro timer so they could risk free kill a logged off titan? That's pure lame on BoB's part. While it might be a valid kill, it was way low class of BoB to resort to that kind of thing to kill another titan. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | How to Build from a BPO |

Lucentis (DigitalCommunist) smartbombed the titan or shot at him, when WOTAN was about to log off to get an aggrotimer.
Dunno if WOTAN already closed the game or not.
if this kill is legit or not, its not my decision.
Seconds after the titan was killed, a ccp employee logged into yz- and posted bull**** in local. Tinfoil any1?
but if CCP want to see EvE going this way, with all this Crap happening, i¦m sure they can rename the game to BoB online.

Whether it was genuine infiltration or a bought character, having a 'spy' able to be in the same gang as the flagship of D2 was HIGHLY valuable. Firing his smartbomb and being noticed would have resulted in his immediate removal from his corp/alliance and BoB would have lost a master piece.
So I'm convinced he only fired his smartie when he was sure the Titan was not under pilot control anymore.
Whatever, this is clearly abusing game mechanics and should result in the ship replacement. BoB don't need underhanded tactics to win, do they?
erm, if you turn off damage shown and if the bob spy used a micro smart bomb as it is now know, seriously, even if the titan pilot was online he would NEVER have noticed that on its hp status. Man you do know what is a titan hp??????

i don¦t cry.
after all a titan is only a ship. and ships can be replaced POINT.
It¦s the circumstances. It¦s simply fact that bob acn¦t kill a titan in a fair fight.
Sure it was a briliant move. perfectly planned. and we konw that it worked out Perfect.
But maybe someday bob grow some balls and they will make a real titan kill. ___________________________________________ A wise man said once: 'Violence is the escape of the mentaly poor guys.'

the game mechanics that allow bob to kill a titan in that way are no more "dodgy" or "exploity" than the game mechanics that allow titans to log off safely.
you should be glad that they even allow titans do disappear in space when the pilot logs without agro timer. in my opinion, titan pilots should be forced to store their precious titan in a POS when they are offline so that they are voulnerable at all times. isnt that the whole point of disallowing them from docking at stations?

Interesting, they killed D2 titan using their brains, I dont understand why u should sacrifice tons of ships to kill a titan when u can kill it in a more effic. way? I'm not sure if anyone of u here can think of this plan of killing a titan or even more to realise this plan. You should be able to analize the situation, the changes and so on, it's not that easy as you guys think. Well to play a massive online game is not only to pew pew, you also have to THINK, like a strategy, its not only to lock and f1-f8. You call it dirty and non-valid? well, show me a war (both eve and rl) that is PURE and so-called VALID? Btw, I dont think to seat, create tons of alts and spam anti-BoB propagandas is a good idea, eve is a game, so take it as a game pals, well D2 lose the titan, i'm very sorry for that, I know its a lot of hard works but that's already the past, you cannot bring it back by seating here and crying, swearing or watsoever. Take it as a good lesson not to be repeated anymore in the future, keep playing guys, too much of smacking in forum is not the best way to show the power, u better SHOW it ingame There are always 2 periods: rise and fall, fall and rise - so never give up!

Can BoB do anything that is not pure lame these days? All I see is cheating from those guys... And it's sad to see that GM's back them up.

Nobody has quarrel with them using their brains. The quarrel is with them getting the kill based on exploiting the game mechanics, insted of in a straight-up fight within the game. We should win or lose in the game, not by manipulating how the game is implemented to get an advantage.
Frankly, it's really dumb of them to pull something like this right now. Sentiments against them are already incredibly high. This is just adding fuel to the fire. The cheap titan kill wasn't worth it, IMO. -----------------------------------------------
