Well first off, Everyone has stated a valid bad point to the patch and I agree 100% with most of it, I will not repeat by adding the same content mainly because obviously ccp doesnt care they have made this post non sticky. now that alone makes a very bad impression. To bad I truly had alot of fun with this game, I truly hope ccp fixes the npc issue in venal its unplayable and venal is now vacant so SI feel free to have it, lol its not worth crap now there is no more decent ore there now. I just paid for another 3 months I will hope ccp fixes this. Im a bit angry because YES I love this game and I Pay for it, so I can choose to not pay for it! If I so choose to do that that I dont want to mind you but if I cannot have fun playing this game then I will not continue to burden my friends I have made with a ****ty attitude! It was fun and I met many great people and had many a fun day playing this game. I am going to say I hate castor, I was one of the people who helped test it and yes I knew of the npc's but was under the impression from certain people on the test server stateing that the guristas were going to be tuned before the release that it wouldnt be much of a problem well they have tuned them slightly with taking the 1mill bounty away and nothing else they are still spawning in a 17 frigate cruiser combo that spamms so many missles you dont stand a chance in hell. good luck ccp I hope you make the right decision here and fast your loosing credibility by your actions.

heh. It seems that for the most part PK'ers love Castor, and the Solo'ers, and Business type people/Corps hate it?
Is that pretty much it?
I too, think it was a bit much to expect the player base to swallow.

maybe they unstickied it because nobody has bought up any *new* problems for several pages?
all people are posting is variations on the same themes - agents, spawns, and speed.
I think they have probably got the message by now.

While I think Castor brings with it alot of the content people have been clamoring for, I must aggree with the previous poster Acks on the Venal issue.
The Venal region has pretty much been renedered useless by the Castor patch. Nobody can mine common ore let alone rare ore without getting the extreme missile spam from the NPCs. Many corps (including mine) have had to move resources out of the region to get anything at all done.
From what I hear from other people in other regions, the rare ore is there and able to be mined and the NPCs are way more managable.
I really must question whether this was done purposely because a dev (who has an alt in Biomass and was podded by NVA forces and got really mad) is taking out his anger on the former residents of Venal, or theres a more reasonable explanataion (like they forgot to tune the NPCs, screwed up the ore dist, or both).
Will this be fixed? Is it meant to be way harder to do anything in Venal for a specific reason? We'd really like to know and as paying customers, we think we deserve an explanation.

Its true. Venal seems to have gotten the short end of the stick.
With reports coming in from all of the other alliances about halfway decent NPC's along with quality ore to be found, we in Venal are looking around for someone to blame.
Some of you (our enemies of course who leap at a chance to flame) might think we are just crying and making this up, but its true.

No. They don't care.
They are not speaking, and have no appology made.
They are not seeing enough canceled accounts to make them feel like they should chase customers needs.
You say you are canceling but are really not, like many your just waiting to see what tech2 will do. I will personally guarantee that Tech2 will not come out until you have paid your money for January's due subscription.
Basically:
You get a screw you patch, instead of tech2 in December when it was promised... They may be workin to tweak what is botched, but I only see bits and pieces. I don't see any reaction from ccp except their wallets being open to accept more monthly dues.
An advancement is not nerfing everything that exists, then making the new "tech" play like the game was being played. I also predict that tech3/tech4/tech5 will be introduced in the same manor.
We have gotten used to playing the game and learned to accept eve as it was. I doubt all will accept eve in the new format.
Ideas:
There should be places swarming with npc pirates that give up tech2 bp's, and awesome mods. Make it so that it would be like a small war just to get in and get some of those goodies. Throw some randoms out there like you used to. We all miss the old days, look forward to new days, but not by paying a price of being nerfed from semi-uber to
totally-n00ber.

I wrote two postings here. Both postings were send as emails to [email protected]. I got an answer to my first posting and that is more than i expected.
To be fair, i have to say that the answer is very kind and polite. But they tell me nothing else as: 'we are very sorry if you feel like that'. In fact, they did not tell me anything about my questions, only suggesting me to stay because of upcoming future things.
I think they are either helpless or arrogant.
I do know very well that there will be changes to the game from time to time. We all know that and we all hope that. It is OK. But we all want that the changes make the game better. Did you expect that the changes made by 'Castor' took your chance to improve your sec rate? Did you expect that you have to do more mining as before? Did you expect to be slower by new technology? Did you want to be unable to get a BS? Did you really want to do agent missions? I have to stop or it wont end...
It makes me upset if i feel ignored.
If CCP wants to be paid by childs, OK. I dont have the time to be online this much. I have to work hard every day to earn the Euros and i am not willing to spend this RL-money into a game where i can not get recreation any more.
You made a good game, CCP, why did you wrecked it?

When i look at the 'Rules and Policies' of this board i can see some terms regarding 'Trolling is prohibited' and 'Avoid using profanity - Using partial masking (such as asterisks or punctuation marks) to bypass the profanity filter is prohibited and will result in the same action as if the actual word had been typed.' And as everyone can see in this thread, there are a lot of people posting intelligent notes getting no answer. Except those of some narrow-minded ones calling them 'whiners' and using a lot of asteriks to hide words, i dont need to use. CCP is not taking care of both!

The user base HAS been affected. Just watch the map, the users online...etc. Its gone down steadily since castor. Even with the "free trial" offer they recently offered.

well I have done a bit of looking around spent 3 days exploreing systems in venal there is very little rare ore and it is in 2 northern regions and no arkanor at all. also take a look on the map and you will see large amounts of npc's kills and also large amounts of people in very deep 0.0 space now to me 1+1=2 correct me if I am wrong. and no disrespect Intended but I think he wasnt accuseing just saying why is it fine everywhere else except venal? and when we are ignored you can only wonder and when your ignored even longer You start to suspect they are acting not guilty but not guilt free either.

ya know not all of caster is bad.
just missions mission missions. lack ores, killer npc's. and being sent back to square one on skills.
probally isn't so bad for real newbie types. they don't know better and have better paths of training to follow instead wasting last 7 months training to not be able do anything
of course if they like dying all time they will stay. if not they will cry and whine and leave.
like 75% of the players from first 7 months of game have done

sent an email to the devs, waiting for some sort of reply regarding the reasons I am quitting...day three no response. The lack of customer service is apparent. If they would deign to acknowledge the email or say 'hey we are working on this' it would go far to restore my confidence in the Dev team.

I don't think there's proof of anything, which makes talking about it futile. I do know that we in the NVA have had a bad feeling about CCP ever since GM Swoosh moved that JIP for Biomass in the middle of a fleet engagement a few weeks back...Then Castor comes along and essentially succeeds in doing what no other entity had been able to do--it forced the vast majority of NVA to leave Venal. I don't know if other members may have something more substantive or not.
It may or may not have been done with malice aforethought, but the result is the same. It places NVA and an unequal footing econically in comparison to the other alliances.

i'm back, with a little humblings, though i am still mad with the speed and mining nerfing, on the whole i see castor as not too bad.
i bumped up some energy skills to be able to fly quicker, though not quick enough yet, still very annoying.
am reinstating my subs, due mainly to the interest i have atm with missions. though how long interest with this will be for is unknown atm. STILL very angry that all my good agents ie concord and jove are useless to me atm, but will see when they are activated again.

I have to agree what everybody has said about venal..The NVA has been well and truly stitched up wih the castor patch and i have to admit it does look like CCP showing favourtisum towards pirates and its player dev's.
Also i thought it was good buisness practice to keep the customers happy, the customer is always right.Well with the new patch CCP have totaly ignored its customers which in my eyes is bad buisness practice and i can only see CCP loosing money and going out of buisness if this is there idea of listening to customers.
