Got it. It is real nice and I like it a lot. Here are a few suggestions to improve the 3rd edition :)
- Make the inter-region jump lines more different, right now the only difference between a constellation and a region jump is pink vs red; very hard to see, especially in low light. Besides, who cares about constellations anyways :)
- I love the black background and as an aesthetic choice, it is perfect. If you decide to go more practical, a lighter color that you can write on would be better. I am still undecided which I would prefer, but when I look at the Post-It notes I have in there, maybe I'd prefer to have a lighter background.
- The index should be split in two parts, the empire index and the nullsec index. Mostly because it takes me three times as long as it should to find something in empire because of all the nullsec system designations getting in the way. And I have yet to be looking for a system that I didn't know if it was in empire or nullsec. In any case I think it would still be faster to look in both indexes than to look in the current one, each index would be more uniform.

I don't know if this has already been said. I just bought the second version of evemaps, and official outpost updates webpage says there is 1 in N7-KGJ, page 37, K1. It should be K11.
Two more outposts are reported in page 37, ESM K1, 5C-RPA and GB-6X5. However 5C-RPA is in K12 and GB-6X5 in K11 (there are no systems in K1)
Also, does anyone know the meaning of the white A in Amarr, Sarum Prime and some other systems? I can't find it in the legend, but it may be my fault, I just got them today.

Well, let me say that every good strategic map that want to be called so, should really be plastic-coated.
Yes, every page plastic-coated, so that we could be able to write and delete with proper markers.

Hi,
I just wanted to say that I really like my copy of the 2nd edition. I actually understand the tactical layout of my home system a lot better now and have a better idea of what to do in each region. I like it a lot, but I feel the one thing it could use more of is detail in the legend. Other people have mentioned things like the greyed out system names in the index or the border on the grid being different colours and I think I would have felt a little less confusion if some things were a little more clear. It took me a while to figure out what the difference between a Station and an Outpost was for example.
I have few questions still. What is the difference between a red 10 and a red -1 system? Why are the names of some regions such as Essence yellow instead of of white like the rest? What do the skull and crossbones icons means on the Universe map?
I also feel like some of the basics should be expanded in the legend to help new players. I confused the comon enemy guide for sovereignty at one point. Explaining that each of the racial icons at the top mean one thing and what the damage type icons mean would tie things together for new players nicely. I also still don't understand what the difference between cosmos, beacons and complex is and would have liked a one sentence description perhaps explaining why these resources are valuable.
Thanks for all the hard work, I'm definitely going to recomend it to everyone I know in EVE.

I guess I'm slow today, or obtuse, or whatever...
I just brought up the beta mini-map in the in-game browser, and for the life of me, I can't find any way to resize the map to a readable size. The browser never allows me to resize the small mini-map window no matter where I move the mouse cursor.
So, just color me as stupid today, but someone please enlighten me as to what the hell I'm doing wrong!!! |

As a beginer to EVE at the new year I went and purchased teh maps. Now I am extreemly glad as I am planning my first POS. With the maps I have been able to pin point resources and links to systems.
Thanks it made a NOOB have a bit more infromation to help with the journey called EVE.

I love the eve strategic map's. and i have found them very usefull, but i dislike the fact that when you update the outposts with the stickers you always cover over vital system information. if there could be a way to mark the new outposts without concealingthis info then that would make the map far more useable.

Just recieved EVE Strategic Maps Edition 3 in the mail about 3 days ago. Great product, I love it. There is an error on page 21 though as the map shows a connection between Murema and Airshaz in Domain. It's just a small error and with the sheer number of systems and stargates in the game it's not a big deal.  I have been to the system (as I don't trust the auto-pilot as far as I could throw it) and there isn't a connection there. Thought you should know so you can keep updating this outstanding product!!

I've ordered edition 3...Should get here one day, but the post is being tremendously crap right now so god knows. I'll post up when I find out if anything new and exciting has been added.
