For the love of GOD, what is upcoming is the most important information of them all: will there be one more BS in Revelations 2? is there going to be T3 items? Will there be BS t2 in there? What materials i will need to manufacture some newly introduces items BPO? If there will be some new and valuable stuff introduced, who would use the old ones? you just immediately sell all the "old" stuff you have because the prices will fall dramatically. Which leads to huge profits and no loses. That is cheating!

When i was 10 years old, I was harassed by some 12 year old guys. I said "I will tell my big brother!" but they didn't stop. So i told my brother, he laughed and told me to solve this problem myself
jsut some contructed settings:
[Player] Heya, how are you? [GM] fine and you? [Player]great, but an ISD idot bumped my dread *grml* [GM] hmm you could file a petition, then it will get looked after [Player] k i will do
*piep* incoming petition /GM gets to DO HIS WORK
.. in antother parallel universe:
[Player] heya my good old friend, this damn ISD is looking our fight and i just dont want to, pls ban him out of game [Dev] sure all what BoB wants, and if these idiots are amazed well just fake a petition
so on the "unnamed corp" thing:
There are two different things:
a player who didnt got a response in a Game. This player doesnt pay for this single response, but for the whole AMAZING GAME. it could be handled better but ist a piece of cake.
On the other side an ATTACK on the reputation of a company. There are jobs to loose, there is money to loose, there is our game, that so many players want to enjoy.
CCP is absolutely right to accuse you of damaging them. And damaging the reputation of a company is a serious offend.
a bad customer service in single situations is just a piece of cake *sorry*

With reguards to the "MS WORD" issue, email programs such as Outlook, which I use at work, can use different programs as your email editor.
I use MS Word in outlook as my email editor, and yes when I make mistakes I get those lines.
Clearly CCP uses the same or similer.

I am happy with the findings from the investigation so far. However I do agree with some of the other posters here: - The MSN issue: in a competitive environment there can't be friendly relations between the rule makers and enforcers and players outside this environment. I think this applies to many cases including online gaming.
- Back off with the attack on Goons. It seems CCP jumped on the bandwagon to attack Goons rather then blame those responsible within Goons they just blame all the Goons. This puts you at the same level as those who call everyone in CCP and BoB cheaters because of the T20/BPO incident, something which I don't think is the case either. I know decent people in both camps and I hate the fact that both sides are wrongly accused.
I wish you lots of wisdom to use all this energy and publicity in a positive manner. In my experience transparancy (sp?), honesty and ALWAYS sticking to the high road is the key. Word your accusations very carefully if you feel you must make them, it's a short trip from the high road to the gutter.

Originally by: DarkFenix Yes indeed devs will cheat, but the fact that they've got people looking over their shoulders means the scope of that is rather limited. Intel on upcoming changes is the only real thing they can use to their advantage, and it's essentially unavoidable (because I sure as hell don't want devs who don't even know how their own game works 'cos they don't play it).
But meh, every alliance probably has devs in it, it's crazy that everyone acts like BoB is unique in a) having devs and b) having MSN contact with devs. All this because they're winning.
BoB IS unique in admitting to having MSN contact with Devs, and being arrogant enough not to see why people might have a slight problem with that.
Them admitting it is more or less a moot point. People like you had already made your minds up it was true anyway.

The Goons made the attack in the name of GoonFleet, the BoB cheater was a single guy. I haven't seen anyone state in BoB they were proud of the cheater, all goons find the attack on CCP hillarious and well done. If there are Goons that don't want to be associated with a group that performs these kind of actions they should leave the group. |

Accusations of an anti-Goon bandwagon. Wow. Goonswarm made a systematic and organised attack on CCP, both its integrity and physically against its forums. I don't give a crap about Mittani's personal vendetta against BoB, I want to enjoy Eve, so does everyone else here. If Goons are trying to organise ways to damage that and the company providing it, many people will have a problem with it. In my opinion CCP would be more than justified in banning the entirety of GS from the forums, and all the ringleaders from game altogether.

**** like this will happen for as long as the Devs pretend to still be a garage company and insist on playing their part in the big alliances. If BoB would disband the next big alliance would be called 'new BoD' or something.
Pandorra's Box. Good luck, hope you don't mind spending more weekends investigating allegations of Dev misconduct.
Games like SWG didn't fail because the Devs didn't play - they failed because the management decided to ignore what the *players* asked for.

First of all, I would like to thank CCP for the extensive explanation into the "Sharkbait joining Darkstar 1" Issue.
I am positive the explanation is the truth, this problem is in fact related to the issue I mentioned earlier regarding some BPO's that stubbornly resisted getting locked down and not a POS related issue as initially reported.
We have another petition that states that the BPO's still thinks they are locked down in another station 40 jumps away, I am sure that this is the same issue.
With regards to the whole drama related to this weekend, I am truely sorry, eve does not deserve this.
As to why it happend, I as an individual player, have some thoughts:
I have been fighting Bob more or less since the ASCN war, and I expect to keep doing it provided it is in any way possible. This means Darkstar 1 have been in ASCN, Ka-tet and recently joined Goonswarm because we wanted a good enemy and a real challange in terms of Pvp. Bob was and is the entety to fight.
There has always been a suspicion that Bob knew stuff because they had good and long standing ties to CCP. Many players (probably wrongly imho) in those alliances felt that Bob had better access to GM's and knowledge about game mechanics, which they then in turn exploited/used in pvp. Mainly in lag situations Bob almost always came out on the winner, which is very annoying. Then the T20 situation occured and to most non Bob members it was handled atrociousely bad, nooneone was punished (except the guy that found it out) and Bob got to keep not only the isk made on those BPO's but even the BPO's them selves. It was never even revealed what BPO's it was all about. This meant that many people felt that CCP favoritism towards Bob was proven and MASSIVE tinfoilhattery ensued.
To me this is the basis for the utter drama that has been taking place here in the last 4 days.
Now what, how do we move forward ?
Goonswarm has lost our leader over this situation and a lot of members (not just goonswarm) are feeling totally abandoned by CCP and the situation in general for eve is bleak with regards to the prospect of having fun in 0.0.
I suggest we as players can solve this situation by declaring a 3 months truce between the major player enteties in the Bob/coalition war. Continued hostilities in the current situation is too personal and too infested by this whole situation, war is simply not fun at the moment and eve is a game, it is supposed to be fun !
I am in no position to speak on behalf of the coalition, but i strongly feel this is the way to deal with all the crap that happend, time is what is needed to heal the wounds. Continued fighting in the current situation will just mean eve looses even more good players to tinfoilhattery and a general feeling of disgust, in the end we all want this to be fun and eve to prosper and grow.

My trust in CCP was not misplaced.
I find it sad how many of you would still rather cling onto the accusations by any excuse available. To people not believing in the proof provided: where were your high standards for the realibility of information when you read the open letter? Can you not see your own bias?
I also find it extremely arrogant that people who were just on the barricades for supposed great injustice express no form of apology but use minor issues as justification for their continued distrust (the fact that some players are friends with devs does not prove that any corruption takes place), and some even blatantly choose to ignore everything on the basis of some insignificant hole.
Some keep saying that CCP can't admit to any wrongdoing. In the t20 case they did. Or should that only be brought up when it supports your case? Instead you should ask yourself: is it that hard to admit that you were wrong? ---

I think CCP would do well to let it be water under the bridge. Punitive action against Goonswarm most likely is going to be seen as just confirmation that CCP has favored BoB by outside sources.
I would give a forum ban temporarily, say 3 days or less, to those that actually did do the posting/spamming that shut down the forums. I wouldn't go more than that though.
I certainly if I was the legal team of CCP would never pursue charges. It would be far more harmful to CCP than anything that Goonswarm has done.
As I said before I hope that though I realize they cannot admit any wrongdoing due to legal ramifications I hope that they will turn their eyes inward. That they will take corrective steps to stop future allegations, the game can't take to many more hits I don't think.
I'm still bothered greatly by no denial of a special communication link between BoB and the developers. To me and many others, that was the at the heart of these latest allegations. I mean Dianabolic has stated such exists, and other BoB leaders/members have backed it up as well.
If they take action against the Goons, they should also take action against Dianabolic, as in his statements this past weekend he has done more harm than any other real entity to EVE. Idea: Treaties Idea: Jump Rigs |

Yeah probably for the best to let it go for the most part (though permabans for the very worst spammers on both sides seem in order). I've said before it's just as well I don't manage CCP . However if I were GS, I would be treading really carefully on the forums at the moment. I'm sure a few people at CCP are absolutely seething at them at the moment.
And why do people automatically assume that a few people who happen to be members of BoB, having MSN contact with friends who just happen to be devs is criminal in itself. There is no evidence of any wrongdoing there, simply the conclusions people are choosing to draw based on absolutely nothing solid. Everyone makes it sound like a big conspiracy in which BoB as a whole carefully established secret special channels of communication with select devs with the specific purpose of gaining advantage ingame.
There is no special channel of communication. It's MSN contact between friends, nothing more sinister unless proven otherwise.
Silver Cyanide: That's actually rather true. I was in BoB for a while during the fallout from the t20 incident, and all the BoB=devs accusations became a bit of a joke. We did things like use [DEV] tags for ship names and generally had a laugh about a ridiculous situation.

I cant believe I'm going to say this but...
There are holes in there that is so obvious that I dont understand how they were missed out when responding to this issue. If it is indeed the final investigation?
Will that change the outcome, no, I do believe that, I do choose to believe CCP.
However, I think they missed how careful you have to be and that you DO have to cover every angle and aspect of things or it will look hollow and not be taken at full credit.
The easiest way (havent found a reply from CCP in the thread, I'm lazy today ok) would be to say that "This part of the investigation is done, we are looking into the [issues mentioned in this thread] and will come back on that subject too. Please give us some more time."

Listen, even though some players have out of game means to contact CCP, like email, IRC or MSN, it does not mean that the CCP employees favor the player.
For example I know the e-mail address for George Bush, but that does not mean that I can influence him in any way. One of my friends works with the IRS, but even though I have him in my MSN contacts he never arranged for me to pay fewer taxes. My sister works in a grocery shop, and even though i have her phone number she never gave me a discount at the shop.
I trust that the CCP employees knows how to separate the work related stuff and the real life friendship with someone on their MSN contact list, on IRC, at the fanfest or in e-mails.

Why don’t work in teams? One developer in the Game (for a limited time) and a team in the Backyard, that evaluate the oh so important experiences with him. So, may be, the abuse by personal contacts can be minimized. Definitely developers should not be allowed to play longer than 6 months in arow (with one character). Defenitly developers should not take importend Roles in player driven Corporatioons/Alliances.
Just my 2 Cents

You have destroyed all your credibility with any thinking member of the community. I have flown with you many times and and found you to be a decent FC I also however find that you are over your head in politics. Please Gill, step back and evaluate your position in this game and the side your on. I am not asking you to change sides but perhaps to remove DS-1 from further damage by flying with the Goonswarm banner. At least give it some thought. There is lots of good anti-bob groups out there. Even some worthy and worthwhile of being involved in.
