From today, Dusk and Dawn [D2] is no longer an operative entity.
In the last 14 months of our history, our pilots had times of fun, times of desperation, and times of tiredness.
At the end, we saw the Universe changed, and it's no longer a place for Dusk and Dawn.
Many thanks to our close friends who stand on our side the last year.
Escpecially to all honorable pilots of Razor and Morsus Mihi who we had the pleasure to fly with.

It's really too bad that you guys went down like this. I can't help but wonder if you hadn't let Goons on your bandwaggon if things would have been different. I think it was inevitable though, after the folks that made Ev0ke left you guys hanging that this was a foregone conclusion. As one of the entities involved in both the dawn and the dusk of this storied alliance, the proud pilots of AXE--who, two name changes, almost a hundred jumps, and a universe of differences ago, battled against the coalition of pilots who would later become D2--thank you for the great, smack-free fights, both in your home space, in Fountain, and in Impass and ASCNia. May the way we fought in 68FT--mutual respect so great that even after nodecrashes, a cease-fire would be negotiated, both sides realizing the prospect for a proper fleet battle had been negated--serve as an example and an inspiration for those on either side of the many petty battles waged and personal accusations thrown in the false name of any number of other pursuits. This game is about having fun, and every time D2 showed up, even if I died, I had an awesome story to tell the next day.
Respect to a worthy enemy. If you would be so kind as to stop trying to kill my carrier, I promise to respect you even more.

Just be careful BoB because as soon as it looks like another side may just win a war against you, YouWhat will probobly turn on you. I still can't believe YouWhat would turn on D2 after what D2 did for them last summer.

If we were given 14 months of almost complete protection from hostiles in our home systems by RZR, MM, IRON, etc, we would have lasted longer than you did, guaranteed.
But then again, you'd never know what it was like to actually lose your space, since at the first sign of trouble, you ran for the hills. How's Great Wildands treating you?

Alliances don't die.
They are merely the sum of their corporations; as long as their corporations continue to exist, the alliance's legacy will live on throughout EVE.
As such will D2.

Goodbye D2, and good luck in your next venture. Flying a covops through pretty much all of D2 territories when you had most of the north, eagerly trying to find a Capital shipyard or two to take *ahem*screenshots for sigs, dodging bubbles, dictors, camps through most of Delekin and Branch, were probably the most fun I've had in the game so far.
I expect to see the corps of D2 around the place, I know you won't fade into the background. :)

GL to D2 pilots in the future. I had some really fun fights against the old -G- squads and against D2's skirmishes into the south. Its a shame when alliances fall because as EvE pilots we love to see huge battles but hate to see the toll it takes. But, thats how space ship pew pew goes.

Gotta say, I've fought against D2 since it's inception over a year ago, (when Tribute was owned by OSS/E.R.A)
Apart from a few choice moments theres not alot of bad things to say about D2, the NAP wagon which was all of the north pretty much killed them slowly, the PvP corps/pilots started leaving to find war as far back as December 06, D2 was made alot weaker than the first time I got my ass handed to me on a regular basis. I still got scars
Good luck all Ex-D2 you have a legacy and should be proud of that fact. o7

Sorry, I'm confused. Are you in the same moon7emplers corp that was formally a member of D2, formally allied to Goonswarm, who took the first chance to uproot and move halfway across the map to NPC space in order to grief goon space with hit-and-run nanoship gangs at any opportunity. I'm confused because if this is the same moon7emplers then your post makes no sense.

You say this as if former D2 corps aren't already fighting against goons and allies in the drone regions and GW/Curse. Great allies indeed. EVE vs Redswarm Federation.

I think the D2 goodbye message stated it all, all those other alliances, corps, individuals who fought so hard for the north day in and day out were totally ignored, just like they were before (and during) when the Alliance came north..
You had plenty of allies ready to help, some of them just as good and resilient of fighters as Razor and MM, all wondering where is D2, why are they not lending us a hand?, maybe someone should have gotten off their high horse a little earlier and had their diplos train diplomacy 101, maybe just maybe this would be a victory speech instead of a goodbye speech...
ahh well good luck and good bye.

What did D2 actually do?
I remember when G broke up not long after F-E had disbanded.
Most of former F-E space was already lost and ERA were plain useless, so it was an easy ride for D2 to gain complete control of the north.
After that all they did was nap everyone and sit there. The odd bit of combat they did get was thanks to the few roaming pvp corps in the north and TCF who for their size sure took along time for D2 to remove.
All you people are just really remembering the forum posturing and mistakening it for ingame achievements.

Quick BoB/MC, recruit all the vet D2 pilots!
It would be nice if they actually went to what was left of those of us in "The North" that continue on but for the most part, I doubt that'll happen.
Wouldn't make too much sense to disband D2 if the pilots really wanted to fight on.

Nah. They didn't turn. They were playing you guys the whole time. Everything they said to you guys to get you to back them up was just some BS to deflect a bob attack. You guys attacked bob which prevented bob from attacking them. Then when you needed the favor returned they were too busy running plexes. When bob was going to attack RA they were part of "the coalition". But when fade started to get attacked all of a sudden they were part of "the southern coalition". Yet no one called them out on that. You did them a huge favor and got hung out to dry. Sucks to be you guys. I'd be mad as hell.

And after that--utterly outnumbered, out SP'ed, out FC'ed, crying at every major engagement for RA to save us with logonski lagsploits instead of supporting their children and families with 'plex runs--when we get curbstomped by Band of Brothers and friends, with whiny Goons (complaining about Titan imbalance, or whichever convenient excuse comes to mind) quitting the game in droves, only then our final plan will have reached its ultimate fruition.

Come on man, you usually make better posts than this. I never expected you to twist things like that. Let me correct you:
BoB attacked us before we NAPed D2 (and IRON, RZR, MM, et al). The NAP was worked out a head of time in the event BoB actually attacked us/came to defend LV, which I never thought would happen. The whole point was to let D2 attack fountain (and Delve and Querious) and split LV/BoB. After about a week, BoB left LV's defense and went back home to defend themselves. We would have had a much harder time beating LV with BoB helping them, but I believe LV still would have fallen apart internally.
In that respect, D2 helped us a lot by making BoB retreat, but they never came to our stations to help us when BoB and LV were working together. We had a NAP, and we had a plan, not a mutual defense pact that involved one side or the other trekking all of their capitals, logistics, and players to the opposite side of the map. I don't understand how you, or anyone else, could expect us to uproot EVERYTHING to go and help D2 if they were not strong enough to help themselves (or vice versa).
So you tell me, what should we have done to prop D2 up against BoB's pets and MC, as we are fighting BoB + Pets in 77S8 everyday? Just give up our space and go help D2 fulltime? You're being kind of ridiculous if you think the kind of help we could have provided while still managing to defend our space would have made a difference.
If by "they were too busy running plexes." you mean "fighting BoB in 77S8 everyday", then yes, you are right. It's easy to sling mud like this when you have no idea what's happening in a different region - I can just as easily blame D2 for "not doing ANYTHING" for so long as you can blame us for "not doing anything" or "running complexes".
So I stand by my words - D2's performance, or lack there of, was incredibly disappointing. Even if Schlieren's troll was harsh, he has a point - the D2 we fought in XGH never had a problem replacing dreads, towers, battleships, or what have you. Based on that, we expected them not to hold out, but to beat MC+Pets. Like I said, disappointing.

I believe that u, frankly, fought a much stronger D2 than the one MC just fought. Times change, and I believe D2 had weakened quite alot even b4 this war started. If D2 was at their full strength, things might've looked different, as they'd be able to match the MC led cap fleet.
In the end, they did'nt. And soon u'll be facing both the MC and BOB cap fleet. Game over. But as I've said b4, fighting entities like BOB and co, means having to spend alot of time boring ureself to death on a regular basis. The BOB mentality is such that winning is eveything, and is therefore willing to do boring and mundane tasks for hrs on end. To beat BOB, u need that mentality.
Bore ureselves ****less and beat BOB

Yep...it's shocking
We fought hard in branch, we engaged when we were outnumbered on a daily basis. Our FC's threw us into battle to have fun. We DID have that fun. For months we had seen the writing on the wall.
Anyone that fought us in Branch recently would have seen that you outnumbered us on countless occasions. We still fought, call it nads, call it having a laugh with your mates, but we jumped in for fun , in convo with the hostiles....they were not prepared to take such loses jumping to us

Zrevak Ashek, I imagine the sadness of what you just said won't hit you for some time, but big wars like these are perhaps some of the most fun EVE has ever offered. You just have to play long enough to see the utter pointlessness of shying away from any aspects of EVE that are popularly labeled as boring or mundane by people like yourself.
And eventually you will learn that its not the tasks that bore people, its fighting the same targets over and over. It is usually very easy to hate the enemy in the start, but it only means you will hate yourself towards the end when they prove themselves formidable. People simply run out of good reasons to pursue victory, and want change.
As an example, I know CE has struggled with all the roadblocks D2 put up, and in my opinion there are circumstances where defeat puts you better off than any victory. Being able to field a capital fleet twice the size of most alliances at the corporate level means there is really no good reason why they need to ally with anyone. Change is good, at least this way theres a small chance we'll get the fights D2 was unable to provide in whatever offshoot alliances are formed.

I take exception to that, Flinx. We never spammed - not once. We never set anti-social hours for our POS. And we came to the POS battles at times YOU set, even when you threw up a dozen large pos in C4C or L-C just to try to sicken us. That just made us even more determined, and had us really work at our turn out for them. Ask OoZoO or whoever the spy in MC is- he will know how hard we worked to get those capital fleets out day in day out.
We did it the other way, with between two and five large POS only in each system to encourage you to try to fight. If we had six dreads, online, that's what we turned up with, evem when you had a Titan ready to jump - on one occasion only that cost us a dread, and then only because he crashed as we were pulling out and got stuck in an extra siege cycle.
I was playing the game of EVE for fun, and isk for my Alliance, and pride in my Corp, and lastly, personal revenge for what D2 did to ISS when it was under attack in the South.

Originally by: Obron Mettlo So you tell me, what should we have done to prop D2 up against BoB's pets and MC, as we are fighting BoB + Pets in 77S8 everyday?
I'm not talking about what you are doing right now. Once fade/deklein fell it was pretty much all over for the north. Once hostile POS's come under attack that was the time this all could have been prevented. I'm sure some one was attacking some region in the south, but that's always the case everywhere. Making an effort to defend fade could have either stopped the attacks on the north and reversed the momentum into d2's favor or made bob step in up there.
If it stopped the attacks on fade and reversed the momentum it could have re-energized the north with a much needed victory and brought them back to assaulting bob space, keeping them occupied. Or it would have brought bob to the north. Either way that would have been to your benefit because it weakens bob's ability to launch assaults on the south. But it seems like the south made a few miscalculations. Counting on the north to put up a big enough fight to where bob would actually have to go up there to fight and that a victory over the north would satisfy bob and be the conclusion of the major invasions in the war. Neither happened so now GS will be lunch for bob too.
I think goonswarm are getting played just like d2. My theory: RA are counting on bob stopping their attacks with goonswarm. Fairly reasonable assumption imo. Why would bob assault RA space when they can get a clear-cut victory against goonswarm, return to delve as winners of the war. Attacking RA space would be more trouble than benifit at that point. BoB know that to kill RA essentially means keeping a large permanent occupying force in cashe. Otherwise RA would just let bob take the space, wait until they leave, and take the stations back. On that assumption RA know the best way to end this war and get back to their own interests is to let goonswarm get killed by bob so that bob can end the war with a victory. GS are merely someone to fuel pos's so RA have station access to drop off overseer effects. RA know bob wont leave with out a victory over the south, BOB know taking RA space might be easy at first, but in the end will be more trouble than it's worth.
At this point RA know the only thing that will satisfy BOB is gaining a victory over both the south and the north. The north has already been sacrificed. GS will be too to satisfy bob's need for a victory in the south. You don't have to like what I'm saying, but I really dont see any other alternative.

Certainly not for their love of D2. If that was the only element to the situation I'd agree with you. It's not that simple though. But if you were an alliance who considers bob a potential threat to your existance or space then it would still have been in your best interest to back up both ASCN and D2. (i'm not saying d2 and ascn were the same. just comparable situations) By backing up ASCN and D2 all bob hostile alliances had the opertunity to confront bob with great numbers while in a situation that was not a direct threat to their own space.
If you've ever been invaded by bob then you know this is preferable to fighting them in your own space. It's hard to argue that goonswarm would not be better off right now if they had backed up d2 in fade, freeing up the north to continue to assault bob in their own space. Same goes for ASCN. If RA/GS/D2/AAA had all chosen to back up ASCN things might have gone a lot differently. That would have been the pinnacle of strength for the anti-bob coalition. Instead everyone decided they were too uber to be seen fighting for ASCN. They decided it was more fun to call them hobbits and talk about how much they suck. The result being the north has been crushed, bob are taking over the south, goonswarm having "unrelated internal issues". The ghost of Cyvok seems to be haunting the north and south atm.
Until the anti-bobbits pull their heads out of their asses and start basing their political/military decisions on what is best for their alliance's future long term there will always be another ASCN/D2/etc. Bob and co will continue to embarrass you individually since you have all proven you can't work together. OFC ppl don't like D2. and ofc you are right that D2 wouldn't have backed them up if the tables were turned. But its not about that.

It's alot easier to recruit pets from alliance remnants if you tell them how great they are and how much e-respect you have for them. If they want to join BOB, MC, or Brutor Tribe, who's going to stop them? I'd rather see them put together a new alliance that could topple BOB or another major power, but so far defeated mega-alliances haven't shown the ability to do that. BOB is smart to recruit their enemies. It's not unimaginable that some other alliance could learn from this and poach active pilots when their alliances fail them...BOB/MC have no patent on this, just a proven history of doing it very effectively. There are always circumstances that will cause someone to turn down even them, though...

While two of you have either folded your hand or realized the futility of aiding that which does not wish to fight, you still fought till all hope was lost.
Its funny how every nub and their dog is quick to run there mouth and start smacking, from the looks of your corp killboard your corp is a joke so i dont know how u can get off slating anyone about pvping.
And as Darkness has already said, all the little alliances taking an easy ride on the back of mc and youwhat, dont worry your time will come
is it now a requirement that new Tri members have to be ******** to get in? Just curious..
I was fighting your kind long ago and as I recall I personally (my main and alt) killed at least as many Tri as they killed me..
anyhow get a clue... far as I can tell you have 0 opinion that matters here... .|.. |

Originally by: Obron Mettlo Thanks for side-stepping every single one of my points and managing to sneak in your own unfounded tin-foil conspiracy theories to make up for the lack of content your reply would had otherwise. These are the types of posts I expected from COAD .
Was not my intent. I'll try again and address your points more specifically. No tin-foil hatery involved. No conspiracies. Just more complex than one line explanations can give.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo So you tell me, what should we have done to prop D2 up against BoB's pets and MC, as we are fighting BoB + Pets in 77S8 everyday?
Well going up right now or after MC went into branch would have been a bad idea, yes. The time to do that was when YW brought MC to fade. That attack was not recognized as the threat it was until it was too late.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo Just give up our space and go help D2 fulltime? You're being kind of ridiculous if you think the kind of help we could have provided while still managing to defend our space would have made a difference.
Nah. You wouldnt have needed everyone. D2 needed more dread support to be successful. Just your dreads would have made an important difference. You could have left your support down in your home regions to slow down the pace of the attacks on your space. Sure your space may be temporarily threatened. But it could have made bob focus on the north instead of attacking you or allowed the north to continue their attacks on bob space making them leave people to defend it so they could only attack you with 50% of their force. That would have made your current situation more winnable.
And my original point was that I think the only reason this wasn't done wasn't done because MC/YW attack power was underestimated. I think it was assumed bob would have to come north at some point and that would have deflected a bob attack on the south.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo If by "they were too busy running plexes." you mean "fighting BoB in 77S8 everyday", then yes, you are right. It's easy to sling mud like this when you have no idea what's happening in a different region - I can just as easily blame D2 for "not doing ANYTHING" for so long as you can blame us for "not doing anything" or "running complexes".
Maybe you're right. I wasn't there so I guess I don't really know for sure. But my perception was that when MC started their attack on fade their was no immediate threat of anyone taking over the south. The north had a serious immediate threat that required capital support to prevent them from being wiped off the map. Their success would have been greatly beneficial to the security of your space.
IMO this comes from the coalition not having a military leader that has authority to make decisions on what amount to troops to deploy in each battleground. The alliance's in the coalition appear to be operating too independently. It seems like places were attacked on a whim and when it was time to defend regions there was an every man for himself mentality. Because of this it is now too late for the north to be saved.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo So I stand by my words - D2's performance, or lack there of, was incredibly disappointing.
I understand why you might think that. D2 chose to be this independent. Simple fact was that the coalition didn't have enough CAPS in fade to fight off the alliance. Even if you believe this was D2's fault it was something that effects not only them but the success of every alliance in the coalition. If they dropped the ball you guys should have picked it up for them whether they deserved it or not because it was in your best interest to have them there. Even though I can't prove intent I believe that was a calculated decision and a mistake. One that hurts goonswarm more than anyone else.

We smacked LV because even in death they were accusing us of developers giving us their systems and letting us kill their ships, in addition to disrespecting our allies by baselessly accusing them of eBaying ISK.
Hell, the guys in LV who got assimilated by BoB are still smacking us to this very day. You honestly expect us to respect that crap?

Originally by: Obron Mettlo I'm not trying to troll you here, but have you ever flown a dread before? You don't just decide to move one for the weekend, or even for the week....... I'm sure BoB would use the opportunity to punish us greatly for it.
Yeah. Flown dreads before, planned dread ops. Yes, moving dreads is a pain. However it is not an impossible task to make a cyno chain, buy a freighter full of stronth/isotopes, and move it to an npc station in pure blind.
Sure, some damage might have been done down south because of it, however it could have freed up the north to either return the favor down south or resume attacks on bob space. Either one would have been a great benefit.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo we figured D2 could handle things fine by themselves, and even if they could not, they were probably too prideful to ask for help
OFC D2 is going to be too prideful to ask for help. This is why the coalition should had someone in charge. You didn't.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo basically it worked out that D2 were in charge of the northern campaign, and RSF were in charge of the southern . D2 worked with MM, IRON, RZR, etc, and RSF worked within our selves, IAC, UNL, KA-TET, and sometimes got AAA to help when we could coax E.T out of his hole.
Exactly. You had a confusing assortment of regional commanders and no person/persons who's job it was to oversee the main objectives/insure resources were put in the right places on a grand scale.
Originally by: Obron Mettlo I think what hurt the northern coalition was switching leaders from D2 to MM when half of D2 left - there was a vacuum for a few days, and the new MM guy (I forget his name) took a few days to assert power and all that.
Nah. MM did a good job, but it was too little too late. It was over already by that time.
Quote:
I don't think many of us are happy that D2 died, don't get me wrong, but like you said, both the north and the south parts of the coalition chose to be this independent.
And now because of that choice alliances will die independently one after the other. You are taking large armies and operating them with the command structure of terrorist cells. It doesn't work.

The fact that D2 has done incredible things in this game remains and too last aslong as they did is a great accomplishment in the game. They fought, the won and the lost some. The fact still remains that they accomplished lots and lots and should get credit for that.

07 d2
well what i see here is an alliance which was once the powerhouse of eve universe getting its place on eve history but i couldnot understand altough MC , BOB and other respectable alliances showing respect their enemies disband and saying farewell all these small entities which are nothing with out their big brothers smack talking. If BOB and MC did not support you in north what can u claim or what can you manage to do is NOTHING. From my point of view D2 died from their innerconflicts and when 3 core corps left d2 it was the beginning of the end sooner or later attacked or not they will come to this end i guess. What MC + BOB did were speed up the progress and many can think that D2 attack BOB to defeat them but from my point of view it was the last try of D2 to activate their alliance and to become again the powerhouse once they were but they cannot manage to do that ( not destroying BOB, to avoid their inner destruction ) Fly safe D2 i am sure Core pilots of d2 will form an other entity and will again fly to victories under a new formation

I never fought D2 much, but my stand out memory were the fights we (FATAL) had with D2 in fountain a few months ago. 40/50/60 vs equal number gangs, no cap ships, and they were fricking great. We won some, we lost some, but at the end was always a "gf" from both sides. Bloody marvellous.
Best of luck D2. I'm sure you'll all come back stronger. Thanks for the memories. o7

You dont have a clue about what are you talking about. That was the result of 4 MONTHS of daily heavy battles, massive fleets, countless Cap fleets and so on. Not the result of some strikes with big numbers. You werent in Fountain, Fade, and Branch and didnt see what happened there.

You and ur alliance are in no position to smack D2. I usually try to be polite on eve-o but this load of crap just cant go unnoticed. Ive paid ur killboard a visit almost every day since the war started, and with the exception one or 2 fleetbattles and the attack on BoB capitalshipyard (which d2 and others were a part of too) and yeah MC pos, aAa is my biggest dissapointment sofar.
When i first heard that u guys were involved i thought hell yeah! Well, i swallowed that cheer pretty fast. D2 fought day out and day in, while u guys sit camping the pipe to Hed with a titan and a mothership.
At least D2 didnt go home and cry to momma after they lost ****loads of capships. D2 fought until the end. And d2 have the stones to admit that the fight is over. What did u do?

Originally by: Pilk As one of the entities involved in both the dawn and the dusk of this storied alliance, the proud pilots of AXE--who, two name changes, almost a hundred jumps, and a universe of differences ago, battled against the coalition of pilots who would later become D2--thank you for the great, smack-free fights, both in your home space, in Fountain, and in Impass and ASCNia.

HAHAHA that coming from AAA member, funny. So you think you're an hardcore PvP alliance? but look into yourself in the mirror again. You may not be 99% industrial and all, but your alliance certainly are carebears. (well most of them are.)
Missioning in G-ME2K, ratting 23/7, oh and couple of mining too. and you try to bluff that you're a great alliance and all that, but in fact you're definately NOT.
Also, at least D2 are not lame people who pulls off cloak and logoffski whenever they're outnumbered or if there's enemy in local.
You sir are not in a position to smack D2, as you're no better off than D2. Actually worse i'd say. --------------------------------------

*me bows to all ex-enemys*. Especialy MC, you guys have my respect.
But i just cant understand some of the forum-trolls here. You guys talk about carebears and stuff like that. Ask MC how well some of the so called caerbears fought?! If MC is fair enough to state that, you would know. Just for you clueless ignorants some facts, without any judging on why/what happend: -Months ago the 3 main PvP corps of D2 left to start a new life. -the industrie corps of D2 left over with less then a half fightung force. -most of the fighting force had lower overall IP ration then who left. -the caerbears fought with teeth and claws.
A fair enemy just knows when he has won and respect the defeated. And only those enemys counts. To all the span** who never seen a D2 fleet from close. Just shut up and enjoy the show.

LOL
The use will be more like transfering stuff from 0.0 to Empire and back via Jumpbridge or using the Jumpbridge to enter heavily camped systems with a fleet. Plus the occasional use of the DD for ****s and giggles. At least thats what Ev0ke uses Emelie for. In the end shes a bit of a problem for our enemies and for us. Its nice to have her but not everyone fights out of fear that we jump her in and nuke them. Which we wont normally think about cause we are looking for fights 90% of the time.
I forgot. The more you smack the higher the chances for her to show up

D2 must of seriously over estermated there combat strengh and the resolve of core member corperations. They were egged on by many posts on the forums that seemed to think they had good chances against allainces that were much more pvp orintated than themselves. Just look at the Titan fiasco as prime example. That must of been a wake up call but that was proberly too late. From an allaince that was supposed to be the power house of the North there demise is disapointing to say the least. Once again it seems to prove how quickly these rich industrial allainces crumble as soon as profits start drying up.

Yah you lasted what 1-2 month VS BOB pets Good Job!!
To many people have "ME" located in an alliance. Maybe alliance should be spelled AllianME.
1. Team work involves doing things you don't like this might include a)Mining (Capital Ships, Fuel, and ect.) b)Fighting C)Production
On a side note I'm sure RA+Co. could use any capital ship fighters you had. This would include motherships, titan, dreads, and carriers!!
Best of luck to the players that turn into BOB pets.

Interestingly enough. I was kind of thinking the same thing. Darknesss.
The problem with this point of view is the constant referals to YouWhat as being a major force provider in the Deklein and Branch campaigns. While they were present in large numbers in Fade, they were not in the majority of forces in the taking of the next two regions. Also bear in mind that the current owners of Branch are hardly new to the claiming and holding of territory against a determined enemy. As has been said elsewhere, time will tell. -

Pity, D2 were always my favourite enemies - just the right amount of mutual dislike without it going too far.
Hope your pilots can find another path to keep them interested, its very hard to keep going in the game when your alliance falls and I expect a lot of people will be folding their cards and stepping out of the game at this point.

Why would anybody want to back up D2? Whom did they ever help aside from IRON? The pets they let run up north were just meet shields that D2 never supported. They let alliances like FE, PA NBSI die when FIVE were attacking, they let FA, NORAD, goons in Syndicate die when BoB attacked them, they attacked ASCN while blue to them. Again. Why would anybody want to back up D2?
I couldn't agree more about D2. That's why we are in branch attacking them even though it is indirectly helping Bob who have set us to permanent -10.
Don't really argue with anything you have to say other than you seem to be leaving out the fact that ASCN helped BoB vs. D2 in Pure Blind and most of us in "The North" never forgot that. That is why most of us had little interest in lifting a finger to help ASCN.
Yes...the "smart" thing might have been to help ASCN, but "some things go beyond mere pragmatism" (quoting again a colleague of mine from another thread).
Just about everything else you say is pretty much obvious and well known. To be honest, knowing it is the easy part. Getting it done...that's the hard part.

This has been the most challenging, rewarding, nerve-wracking, time-consuming, exhillerating, mind-numbing, action-packed war I have ever been involved in, and while it is not quite over, I think a tip of the hat is due to D2. When it comes to the northern alliances the smack/member ratio on eve-o, in local, etc. is one of the absolute lowest that I saw in this conflict. Even Flinx seemed to try to be respectful about smacking.
I think Seleene will agree that this war gave the leadership of MC a major paradigm shift vis-a-vis what we are capable of as an alliance.
I would like to thank those who helped us in Fade, Deklein, PB, and Branch. There is work yet to be done, though. Who knows what tomorrow brings.
Good luck to those leaving D2. May you find something in this game that you can have fun with. To those using this thread as a springboard for smack one way or the other, get over it. Be gracious in victory and defeat, and shut the hell up if you weren't there and are using second-hand EVE-O "news" alt posts as your primary flow of information.

I'm just guessing here, but i think MC will be a target of BOB sooner or later.
If you think of the following logic: An entity allways wants to get rid of it's strongest competitor.
So after all opposition in 0.0 and low sec are gone, the greed of BOB will want to dominate EVE and demand tribute of anyone whom lives in 0.0 or low sec. Even if you get a large allaince in empire going they will eventually become a target of BOB's huge war machine, simply because they MIGHT become a threat into 0.0, they are not "paying tribute" and they are target practice/fun to combat or go to war against.
The pets and the combined might will be quite difficult to withstand to any alliance or corp. Unless the Pets all riot at the same time. Witch i think is very unlikely.
I look upon the future of EVE-online with sadness. Because it's a great game in it's basic form. But when one entity becomes too powerfull it ruins the game eventually. I'm guessing that unless CCP comes up with a briliant scheme to dampen the expansion of BOB and it's PETS all of 0.0 will be unavailable unless you pay tribute to BOB in one way or another.
The more pets, the faster any opposition will crumble and thus BOB will get even more pets. Spiral of evil there..
EVE's days are numbered (a year, maybe 2?). I recon many older players are thinking the same IF my prophecy stands the test of time. -Toriatrix The Blackwater Brigade. |

After having BOB set to hostile for the past 4 years and fighting them on many different fronts along with MC I do have to say a few things.
1.MC is far better then BOB.
2.I think to many people give BOB credit when MC should be getting most of the credit.
3. BOB is crap without MC

Watching groups like d2 and IRON who were so arrogant in the north to smaller corps getting rolled has made the last few months very satisfying! I'd like to say nice things about D2, but...nah. They don't really deserve it. They were a bully-blob for a while, acted arrogantly, and then collapsed like a house of cards as soon as any pressure was applied.
Way to go, MC, YW, BoB and all the rest! It's just a little disappointing the north folded up so easily. But then, everyone pretty much expected that.
So who gets saddled with Cassini now?
And when do IAC, RA, and AAA get the treatment, now that the Goonies are back to skulking in npc stations?

I'm not peaking into your killboards, so would'nt know for sure. But i do know for sure that BOB "helps" or at least "convinently" attacked Huzzah in the Huzzah vs FIX war..
And i'm sure BOB soaks up alot of the skilled ppl in the "PET-corps" (in exchange for ships/fittings) to make sure BOB allways got the upper hand IF the PETS where ever conidering to riot against it's masters..
(Friends do not extort each other, friends do not call each other "pets".)
Anyway, the death of a large alliance like Dusk and Dawn and ASCN is something we will see more often if i'm right. And even if you do not think i'm right in my theories, my point of view remains unchanged. The game is going more and more off-balance. -Toriatrix The Blackwater Brigade. |

MC would be no match for BoB, for multiple reasons.
I think we're more useful to BoB alive than dead, but it would be naive to think that things cannot change. We will see what this crazy thing brings next.
As to who helped MC when AAA invaded: - TOXIN - BOB - D-L - AXE - FIX - Fallen Souls - Executive Outcomes - Gruntfuttocks
And a lot of other friends and Period Basis residents. We're still very thankful for the support they showed us then. -

It is a sad day for me I had great fun in D2, figting along with many wonderful people in most battles from Fountain to Branch. I will always be proud to be part of it, even when reasons for my departure was not my own.
And to those flaming D2 in this thread - I was there on the battlefields and I didn't see you then...
GL to all D2 pilots, thanx to friends who stood by us and gratz to enemies who really did win this war - you all know who you are.

I dont get what your saying here. They NAP'd the north so they didnt really have to take space to begin with, and its obviously at the rate they fell they didnt build a counterpart to anything except ASCN

Then maybe the coalition shouldn't have been so busy trying to take MC space and then complaining when MC went to war on the side of BoB.

D2/IRON/FLA claimed they were rich beyond comprehension... IM sure all that money could have persuaded MC, well before they tried to invade MC's space...
So, yea, what have they done as an alliance?

Please reference the post where FLA claimed that they were "rich beyond comprehenson". Our portion of Deklein was actually so-so as 0.0 regions go. I don't think *anyone* viewed us as being particularly wealthy or as having a large amount of resources as 0.0 alliances went.

Well we're big rock singers We got golden fingers And we're loved everywhere we go We sing about beauty and we sing about truth At ten thousand dollars a show We take all kinda pills That give us all kinda thrills But the thrill we've never known Is the thrill that'll getcha When you get your picture On the cover of the Rollin' Stone
Wanna see my picture on the cover Wanna buy five copies for my mother Wanna see my smilin' face On the cover the cover of the Rollin' Stone
I got a freaky old lady Name a ******* Katie Who embroideries on my jeans I got my poor ol' grey haired Daddy Drivin' my limousine Now it's all designed To blow our minds But our minds won't really be blown Like the blow that'll getcha When you get your picture On the cover of the Rollin' Stone
Wanna see my pictures on the cover Wanna buy five copies for my mother Wanna see my smiling face On the cover the cover of the Rollin' Stone
We gotta lotta little teenage blue-eyed groupies Who'll do anything we say We got a genuine Indian guru Who's teachin' us a better way We got all the friends that money can buy So we never have to be alone And we keep gettin' richer, but we can't get our picture On the cover of the Rollin' Stone
Wanna see my picture on the cover Wanna buy five copies for my mother Wanna see my smilin' face On the cover of the Rollin' Stone On the cover of the Rollin' Stone Gonna see my picture on the cover Gonna buy five copies for my mother Gonna see my smiling face On the cover of the Rollin' Stone

Originally by: Crovan This has been the most challenging, rewarding, nerve-wracking, time-consuming, exhillerating, mind-numbing, action-packed war I have ever been involved in, and while it is not quite over, I think a tip of the hat is due to D2.
You dont sound like a paid mercenary very much. Or was the fact that bob wasnt paying you cleared up in the prior month?
Brave words from a man whose alliance ran from the front lines only to resume the forum campaign.
Also, your post makes no sense. Seriously, people need to stop borrowing these forum smack phrasebooks.
In what way does what I said make it sound like I wasn't paid? The fact that I show respect and honor to a fallen foe, knowing that the only thing separating our side from theirs was who was cutting the checks? Or was it the fact that, as someone who was in this war, day in and day out, I don't think that armchair generals and the peanut gallery has much room to provide critical commentary?
I refuse to see your logic....perhaps it's just because it isn't present.

While I'll agree that Hani's ramblings are as random as ever, I would hardly say we "ran from the front lines". We ran TO the front lines, repeatedly moving back and forth from North and South to assist our allies. Yes, we pulled out, when it was already over.

Well, if Band of Brothers ends up ruling all of 0.0 space and low-sec, and/or claiming rent from all others, except maybe MC (unless they want someone to fight). Then I'd say that EVE is not worth playing anymore, and that it has become VERY much off-balance. I'd leave and claim that i have wasted my time... no, wait.. CCP! have wasted a perfectly good game with some bad moves (not going into detail here).

Just check you own kb there you will see, loads of mc, fata, mpie and whatnot and then mostly only one or two youwhat, killing ppl in branch.
The three corps that have left d2, have done that, before any station in branch was touched, and the d2 leadership was aware of the fact even longer. So what has yw done recently, doing the 10/10 in two regions now? Wow you need too double your forces to face ruthless enemies.

I like the name Kraftwerk. too:) Makes me think of the norwegian word "kraftverk" which means "power plant" ..as in nuclear power plant:)
Kraftverk just means Powerplant in Norwegian Off topic but i just wanted to comment it. Atomkraftverk (also kjernekraftverk )is a Nuclear Power Plant. However we dont have one in Norway due to the meltdown in TSjernobyl

No that wont happen in any foreseeable time any more. Congrats on winning EVE, we all know that there isnt any real resistance left in the universe opposing you.
You, as in BoB have achieved the total defeat of every serious enemies - with every string you pulled, regardless of morales, partially even out of game.
Its not forbidden in EVE, so you won it.

So are you saying that RA/GOON/IAC/AAA/TCF are not serious enemies of BOB? What about RZR/MM? they seem pretty serious from where I am sitting.
I belive you may need to think it through again.

Perhaps this will be the motivation for a new group or players to band together to take the fight to boB and do it right this time. I think the main flaw of the Norhern Coalition was that there were to many agendas and too many different ideas of how to fight BoB. What worked in our favor was that we all worked together and when there was something that needed to be done...we did it!! Regardless of where the order came from. When D2 first invaded Fountain I was seriously concerned about the whether or not we would have a place to live in the next few weeks. It seemed after the first day though, the massive D2 support and capital fleet that showed up in YZ-LQL gradually thinned out. Even before the first fleet battles occured.
You cant win a war by playing docking games at a NPC station with the occasional POS attack and fleet battle mixed in.
But anywho, thanks for the fun in Fountain while you where there, there were some good fights there and I learned a lot and lost quite a few ships.
and as always, having a great time doing so...
GL on you next adventure.

Anyway this thread isnt about Goons or BoB its about D2 disbanding so imo take your smack elsewhere. Originally by: pershphanie Nah. RA are very good eve players. But they are cold as hell. No one is really their ally. Just people who serve a purpose to them. RA's politics make Machiavelli look like Barney the dinosaur.
I am not believeing this after LV finished and BOB and their ally FIX got trouble times North wait for your forces (south coalition) come for a total destruction of BOB but instead South choose to make bias wars like smash vs RA.And altough YW was ataacking D2space D2 still stand on BOB space to attack and also keep its old friends MM RZR IRON in that space fight against BOB at that time RA GOONS and all other south coaliton etity is too busy with the left of LV space and got drunk by the victory of LV space if North dont force BOB to return to defend its space you wont manage to destruct the LV as we are seeing that you cannot beat BOB either nowadays now everyfoothold you are standing is falling back to BOB. On the other hand i really was thinking that in coalition south betrayed North and now i am sure that it was like that you tought that both BOB and D2 will fought till the end of their power

but BOB made a good move by sending MC to d2 place when D2 was divided in 2 by its core 3 corps left d2 and that lead north destruction only thing at that time you are doing is watching and sharing LV space now North coalition ripped apart and nothing left from North only MM and RZR trying to stand against with friends but i am sure when things settled in North MC and other entities in North will leeroy your newly places and wont let you leave in that space and this time there will be no D2 or north that will force bob or other entities to force these forces retreat back to their spaces to a defending position You got only a cahnce to defeat BOB and instead of using that chance you prefer destruction of your allies and now you are disrespecting your allies by smacking them

The three corps that have left d2, have done that, before any station in branch was touched, and the d2 leadership was aware of the fact even longer. So what has yw done recently, doing the 10/10 in two regions now? Wow you need too double your forces to face ruthless enemies.
YouWhat was there to conquer fade and deklein.
Good luck to d2 people in the future, it's kinda sad though that I only had a few actual fights during the war times in fade and deklein. ---------------------------------------

i enjoy reading your smack in local as you sit behind 11 other m8s in a SS telling everyone how good you are, but when 3 BS's and 1CS jump in you ctrl Q.
good luck with that anyway. i like BYDI had alot of people i knew in my early years of eve have been in that corp. and everytime i see Ugluuk he has always been smack free in my local.

I have no intention of starting an argument with someone who is apparently quite bitter about the war. I will just say that:
1) I've never, personally and that I can remember, made any comment on your ex-alliance killboard.
2) I've always tried to keep our killboards as accurate as possible and I've posted dozens of killmails that only showed up on our corp's kb due to our members lazyness.
The only comment that I've made lately about D2 has been the one on the first page. I have no intention of going back in time to the start of the war when my alliance was flamed heavily and ridiculed by members of the North so I'll just stop here and wish your alliance GL in the future and good fights. ____

Acutally iam quiet happy about the outcome, cause after this war ended for me iam having a good laugh with cool ppl, and we are doing eve-easy mode or Counter strike in space, which is ok for me.
1) well you know, one alliance = all the same ppl, sterotypes you know.
2) well posting kills on alliance board but loses not is hmpf ya know - lets end this here as its not going anywhere.
Cu in space soon ;)
Acutally iam looking forward to the "how will this go in the long run" cause when it comes to daily buisness ppl get quiet bored and start argueing about stuff thats not important.

Do you guys (D2) still think that letting ASCN die and not starting the war sooner was a good idea?
Just one of those 'what if' things I guess.
That cap fits far more people than just D2 unfortunatly
And no, letting ASCN die was a crap plan

Thanks for helping out the northern alliances against MC and BoB, but I suppose lossing dreads and stuff far from your base makes you look better in the end.
Still the name might die, but the same arrogance will rule the same alliance with a different name.
This is something brought over from past experiences not related to my current corp/alliance.

Good luck guys but to be honest this seems somewhat familiar from a vid that was made about the end of G alliance....the world had apparently changed then aswell and yet a lot of you came back again in a new form...next time u think u might be able to adapt or accept it hasnt changed and u just havent been able to rise to the challenge?

Quite the cold war. I wonder how much boredom MC had to go through to kill all those pos. All their members must play like 24/7. Take a break MC, life isn't all about pos spamming, get out some.
