Tiscali = shower of kuntz, didn't know they f'ed up limewire also. Explains alot. Am looking forward to never using those b##tards again. Always fight on a full stomach! |

Unlike most people here, I use a file-share program. While that program gives me no problems, a program that I use to keep the music industry from peeking at me does.
PeerGuardian appears to have tagged CCP to be blocked. Those that use PeerGuardian, knows what it does and why, those that don't will have to keep looking for a solution. May I suggest any program that is designed to stop computer access... firewalls, anti virus, anti spam, P2P protection...

Right i really need to know if my problem is Tiscali related cus so far CCP still aint answered my petitions.
Does anyone hang on Acquiring Bulk Data between 6pm and midnight? Plz someone answer me and help cus i cant play EVE at all at the moment

Same for me too. 16:00 to 24:00 unable to connect, then got disconnected at 11:00 today. I have already got my MAC code from Tiscali which took about an hour to arrive. I set up an account with BT as trying to find an unlimited supplier is not easy. Have sent two complaints to the ISPA about Tiscali. Suggest you guys complain to the ISPA too.

Im thinking of switching to Nildram now since i am not getting any joy from tiscali. Anyone else a Nildram user? Would you recommend useing them as an isp? Works with eve (most important :D )

i've just rang Tiscali and of course they deny everything although I could hardly understand what he was saying to be honest. He informed me they never block port etc and I basically told him he was told to say that etc etc. What a bunch of titz! Always fight on a full stomach! |

Hi, I just fixed this issue guys. It had to do with my windows live onecare. I uninstalled it and it worked. Try it you guys to see if it works. I want to see if this helps you guys.

Hi, its software from microsoft for like viruses. www.onecare.com. Also, try disabling any virus or firewall software. If disabling does not work try removing it and then restard the computer and try it. If that doesnt work then re-install back what you had and I dont know what else it could be.

After downloading the patch I got the Status Unknown bug
Workaround (that worked for me ):
In the server section of the EVE client, replace the name Tranquility with the IP address: 87.237.38.200

No offense, but thats cos your answer is wrong. We have already established this is a Tiscali issue, not our firewalls or onecare or whatever the hell else.
You may of found a solution for YOU or you may not. But one thing is clear this IS a Tiscali problem.

Well finally my misery is soon to be at an end as today i got my mac code.
In a nutshell guys, they aint gonna fix this anytime soon, i got called by someone from tiscali. They have read this whole thread and continue to monitor it ( hi btw - thanks for the speedy Mac code )
The best thing you can do is to get out and find another supplier. there are no fixes planned for months - this guy said end August just for a speed update, i nearly died. however they are willing to let you out of your contract (i swear to god i got my mac code within an hour of speaking to this guy.)
My advice to you is get out - as to who i am going with well its still unknown but i will never go for a cheap option again, i learned my lesson you get what you pay for.

I complained using the ISPA complaint link (see post by Angeles at the bottom of page 2) and the following day got this reply;
'I have tried to make contact with you at your home with regards to the complaint you have made to the ISPA. Unfortunately I didnt check my emails for a few days so I didnt reply until the 4th July and directed her to this thread and explained what the problem is and the fob offs we have had as eve players.
I was out most of last night so I only got to test eve at 23:50 and it connected - I dont know if it was as a result of it being close to the midnight cut off or because of my reply to the complaints people. Normally I have to wait until about 00:15 to login.
Alas I wont be able to test it tonight as I'll be moved over to BT this afternoon where I wont have this problem.
If anyone is fed up of talking to overseas call centres with no clue then drop me an eve-mail and I'll pass on the email address and phone numbers of the person above who got back to me so you can see if they can sort your issue out, just in case they did actually fix it for me yesterday.
At least if the high level complaints department get lots of direct complaints they may realise just how annoyed we are as I bet they never see any real impact from people calling into the call centres.

Well I'm now 3 days into my 2nd complaint to the ISPA.. Tiscali havent bothered even atempting to contact me yet.. luckily the Your-freedom proxy service works otherwise id have very little net connection full stop.
IANAL, but my partner is.. can anyone else here say "breach of contract"? We can, and small claims court is definitely on the agenda if things dont improve, and quickly. If were right, then not only refund of phone calls to tech support, but the proxy service fees and a refund of service charges could be sorted out.
My advice is dont back down and claim for he loss of serivce to be refunded as well as a MAC code.
