First: To OMEN Incorporated Corp
The statements that follow....no disrespect toward your corp or the member in question.
So,
TRI was camping a well known system, which need not be mentioned ; the camp was inplace for maybe all of five minutes when...
Scius, from OMEN Incorporated (Exuro Mortis), jumps in and starts attacking my EOS with his Nightmare, which seems to tank pretty damn well for having a Nyx plus support craft on it However, his beast of a tank is eventually worn down and his pod taken away by the smarty.
Now, of course, I jet for the can to see what this dashing young man has left for us and to my surprise...further fittings on my new Nyx are secured
Now, I quickly make a mad dash for the station to depart my precious cargo when Mr Xtreme calmly alerts me that he has a Revelation locked down on the gate. I can barely hear him since he's laughing uncontrollably, but I manage to get back to zie gate to assist...
To my surprise, it's the same young lad who had just lost his Nightmare; as I lock him he's already half armor, which seemed very odd seeing as Mr X had just reported it. I hesiate momentarily as the guy threatens to bring his alliance cap fleet in, which includes a Titan and many many dreads. (which we hoped would all have his taste in mods)
Alas, we read the kill mail upon the destruction of his vessel and once again our eyes lit up and we laughed uncontrollably together ....
NO cap reps and a full slot of cargo expanders in the low
So, after five minutes of effort, a nightmare and revelation later, we're nearly 5bil isk richer and have a nice segment for our next movie. In total, the guy lost over 10bil in fittings and ships. However, through all of this I have to say that this guys gung-ho attitude and apparent lack of (something) was quite refreshing.
The End (no pun intended)

I'm glad he did it, it made for a quite funny alliance chat whenever he was online afterward. As for making the alliance look bad? Not really, this was the action of 1 moron, less than a week into the corp. Hell, seems like the guys little brother got onto his account or something and went ooo shiny ships! pop pop. cry. "my honor?!" Seriously tho, I hope to god that the guy was new to the game and bought the account. If he isn't new.. well.. shucks.. gotta be the dumbest thing i've ever seen anyone do in eve.

Got a good LOL out of this. Nearly certain the char was ebayed/traded/whatever, I knew the real Scius from a few months ago and he was a pretty good pvper, unlike this clown. This also backs up the really odd convo I got from him a couple weeks ago, I guess the original owner left some notes with my name on them, etc. Great kills TRI, put the loot to better use than this guy. ----------------

Truth. Just a mental exercise, would a full-cargo expanded Rev before the penalties were changed from a flat velocity reduction to a percentage have even been able to move?

I read the whole thing on SHC and tbh you guys especially RF (who posted on SHC) are out of order.
"My entire alliance will come help! I only need to LEAD THE WAY!!!"
Ok he's enthusiastic, uninformed but enthusiastic, his enthusiam to fight is something a lot of alliance players dont have. So laugh at him, make fun of him if you will but you know perhaps 30% of the people in your alliance if not more are afraid to fight or even undock without a blob.
Yes I agree he probably bought his account from ebay or at the very worst was a empire carebear who is just discovering pvp and alliance warfare (inc the coming to the realisation of the logistic required to move a capital fleet) but that does not give you the right to insult his mother.
If you don't want noobs in your alliance then filter them out with a decent recruitment policy, if corps in your alliance are not checking people out before recruiting them then thats something alliance leaders and corporation leaders need to sort out.
Don't blame the noob, blame the corp.

ebaying accounts is baaaad,
everyone is absolutely right to ridicule this idiot, he has been kicked out of exuro mortis for being such a giant fool, ok so the faction fitted nightmare was maybe unlucky (but everyone knows to stay away from THAT system, so the guy was only a bit stupid at this point).
But to then bring out a revelation with cargo expanders and no caprechargers against a camp with a nyx in support? I don't care who you are it's downright ********.
well done tri, and well done EM for kicking the fool

Hes not enthusiastic, hes an idiot. Anyone who jumps a cargo expanded revelation into a capital ship camp thinking the alliance is gonna scramble its entire capital fleet within the 30 seconds it takes for him to die, even though hes on the other side of the universe with no cyno chains in place is an idiot, nothing more, nothing less.
As for the recruitment process, the interviews usually hang more towards the player, his history in eve and his motives for wanting to join, not so much whether hes absolutely clueless about anything other then what the tutorial told him. -----

He was told not to go after the mothership.
No recruitment method is 100% safe, every once in a while someone is able to sneak through whatever precautions you take, in Scius case he lied through his teeth, additionally another was factor involved which is an internal matter and I'm not going into that here.

You can point your fingers at me all you want. I followed orders as I had the nine days I was in this alliance. Yes, when I came into Aunenen, I was atacked at a gatecamp. Despite "The End" making it seem as if I intentionally attacked in my Nightmare, I didn't, I attempted to immediately retreat back to the gate once I was scrambled. One of his allies then ensured my defeat by pushing my Battleship away from the gate. Had he of not pushed me, I would have escaped. I was never podded, in either instance, as The End has stated. Further, Once I had been taken down by the Mothership, I went to the station in which my Dreadnought was in, which is where my corp had directed me to bring the battleship, which is why my Dread was fitted with cargo expanders. I was told to bring it there and have it Cynoed to Fountain. A lot of this is a fabrication. The truth of the matter is, Marcus told me to then pursue the mothership camp in my dread, despite me having cargo expanders. Following orders, as I had done since I met him, I proceeded. I was told there was a cyno pilot IN Aunenen in which he would then get on to bring support and/or get my dread out of there. At the end of the day, this is just a game that is being taken too seriously. They were my ships, I lost them, I didn't come on here and start pointing fingers at anyone; like Exuro has. My character was not "ebayed," I purchased it legally on the Character and Timecard Bazaar forum with isk I had EARNED on my industrialist. Exuro, you've done well to cover your "orders" of failure. They will show sooner or later. Grow up.

Originally by: Scius You can point your fingers at me all you want.
Grow up.

also, we have had sources tell us that real money has exchanged hands for isk to buy the character Scius. Also by looking at the character Scius' contract history you will see that he has bought 2x Nightmare's and mulitiple faction items costing multi-billions in total. ~~~~~~

Edited by: Sorvus Mordar on 25/08/2007 22:01:50 Sorvus Mordar isn't my industrialist. Nor would I use my main character in a forum post to buy one for isk. I'm not trying to cover up my "own" stupidity. You're trying to cover up your blatant lies, now. You have no "sources" telling you anything. Keep trying to defame me, buddy. Talk is cheap. You're handling this like a little girl.
Also, the old owner of the character bought the previous Nightmare, if you'll check the dates.

Well you did say according to the chatlog that "they killed my nightmare, what was i supposed to do" so is really hard to belive that Exuro intentionally got you killed by giving you the order to pursue a mothership gang ... (/emote: bursts out laughing) ... even if they did gave u such an order on a so short notice, you should've interpretated it as a joke.
I hope IAC will put this guy to good use, Tyrrax understands these guys, he was youg too once why wouldn't Scius be the same thank all the parties involved, i hadn't laughed like this in a long time reading stuff on internet.

The sad part is that the character Scius, although sold on several times now, was once a member of PIE Inc. A very solid pilot with good FC abilities, and a good guy.
Well its only a game, but you know, old friends incarnated in an avatar and all that...
Funny story though, and hehe, good show taking on the MOM with a dread. Sounds like an ace thing to do drunk if you ask me!
Kicking the **** out of you lot warranted the use of a full rack of cargo expanders in the lows, the loot and all that. ----------------------------------------------

I wish the full chatlog was acceptable to post here, I don't really think I've ever laughed so hard at such epic stupidity. What makes it even funnier is Scius' vehement denials that it was his fault, first blaming us for not saving him and now trying to play it off like we told him to.
You sir, have won the prize. Behold Scius, the man, the myth, the legend.

There's bravery and then there is sheer stupidity and anyone with a little PvP experience under their belt would know that to try to go against overwhelming odds with no chance to win is not bravery, it's just suicide. And losing a Dread to a MOM in lowsec is fail. Fitting the dread with cargo xpancer II's and putting billions in the hold, THEN losing it.... that is more than EPIC FAIL.

Also to defend honor would imply that you had honor to begin with, and personally I dont see how stupid people can have honor, because I mean if you are stupid how do you even know what honor is?
P.S. Here is what wiki has to say about honor just so you know in the future
"is the evaluation of a person’s trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions. Honour is deemed exactly what determines a person's character: whether or not the person reflects honesty, respect, integrity, or fairness. Accordingly, individuals are assigned worth and stature based on the harmony of their actions, code of honour, and that of the society at large."
I dont see anywhere in there where it says you have to fight a group solo that just ripped you to shreads once... you would have thought once would be enough.
In EVE there's things called "Warp Inhibitors" and to "Cyno" you need someone to open one in a system that is within your skill-range in light years. Furthermore, no one had enough balls to pop one, or enough Isk, it seems. I offered to pay for their isotopes, though. =(
There's several ways to look at honor. You can wikipedia it if you got bullied in school and prematurely run and don't stand up for yourself. OR, if you knew a thing or two about it, you'd know: It's why the Romans didn't retreat against overwhelming odds. It's why it's better to go down swinging then run and hide. The Spartans had honor. The italian mafia had honor. Men without honor come to fight unfairly. They stack odds against others. They stab each other in the back. They leave their own to die against overwhelming odds. They run from a fight. They do not stick up for themselves. They go AWOL in wars rather then give their lives. Perhaps you will never understand this. It is better to die with honor then live as a coward. For as a coward you are worthless.
"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, 'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven.' Such is the rule of honor."

Dude, I am a complete and uber carebear... and even I know your an idiot...
I mean lets break your arguement down here...
You said you were ordered to get your dred out and that someone had a cyno ready for you... and so you undocked... and then flew straight to the gate where you just got killed at and got scrammed and couldnt cyno out...
So umm, that doesnt make a lick of sense, I mean even a drunk person would have enough smarts to warp to a safe and then cyno out in that situation.
And this whole defending your honor bit, it doesnt add up either. If you wanted to do that you would have flown another combat worthy ship, ya know like most people do.
Also to defend honor would imply that you had honor to begin with, and personally I dont see how stupid people can have honor, because I mean if you are stupid how do you even know what honor is?
P.S. Here is what wiki has to say about honor just so you know in the future
"is the evaluation of a personÆs trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions.

Lol, did you even bother to see if anyone was going to pop a cyno for you first...
Now see, I want you to reread my post very carefully, is there anywhere in there that I said to run... No.
Had you stopped after loosing the nightmare it woulda been ok... but instead you choose to make it worse
You brought a stick to a gun fight, and not even a good one either, bamboo...
The spartans... oh man... see they actually outclassed their opponents.. and were better fighters.
The mafia had sense enough to fight unfairly and on their terms...
Cant say either of that for you.
Lastly, bet the BoB killboard says I have a better K/D ration than you do... and like I said still a carebear.

Something you will never understand. =)
Pulling a "Scius" just means you don't run and hide like a bullied school boy. You go down shooting, like a real man.
Epic Lol.
There's a difference between bravery and stupidity, being that bravery you at least have a chance to succeed through the proper weapons, training, and backup.
Bravery: Spartans at Thermopylae (think 300), facing down a much larger enemy in order to buy their allies time, while killing efficiently and making their enemy bleed despite sacrifice.
Stupidity: Getting out of a trench in World War I to charge the enemy across no-man's-land filled with mines and barbed wire to capture a few dozen more meters of ground for your time.
What you did was stupid, and to think otherwise is foolish . If at least insisted on going after them with your dread, as it was your own ISK, next time actually fit a tank on it rather than cargo expanders - then, you might not be laughed at as much .

Sakura, the spartans lost that battle. . .. . . . That proves NOTHING but how I was right. It proves how they made such a difference with their sacrifice. They made a point. They stood and fought for honor because, they weren't going to let any man pass, so long as they gave breath. That is because they were "men of honor." They didn't not come to the fight because they "were too far guyz!" Thank you for furthering my point.

You don't even know what happened, do you? I came to Aunenen, got ganked when I came through. I KNEW they were in the Mothership at the gate, OBVIOUSLY, when I went back TO THE GATE in my dread to face it. I faced it because it was dishonorable what he did. He fought me unfairly in a non-war situation. He's a thief and a coward. So, in defense of honor and respect, I went back to face him. Dude, read the events that occured, what're you're saying isn't even on key. I was told assistance would come THROUGH the cyno. God, man, you don't make sense.

I stand corrected, I reread your first post in the thread. See its not so hard to admint when your wrong... you should try it some time.
Btw thinking about this further, I really dont see how you can come to the conclusion that getting ganked in space designated unsafe and for the pirate profession is unhonorable, if anything they were just doing their job.

To the Wiki mobile!!!!
"After three days of battle, the Persians managed to find a way around the Greek lines, in the classic tale they were led by a local resident,a traitor, by the name of Ephialtes. Dismissing the rest of the army, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans and 700 Thespian volunteers. The Persians succeeded in taking the pass but sustained heavy losses, extremely disproportionate to those of the Greeks. The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a decisive naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war.[3] "
In essence you are both right and wrong... while they did all die they did server a major purpose, contrary to your opinion as outlined by this little piece.

Simply using a historical reference that a lot of people know about due to the movie , nothing wrong with that is there?

They knew what they were doing and although they died, they took a lot of people with them and made them pay for their victory. How did dropping a cargo-expanded dread back into the mothership camp make a difference, besides providing them with a bunch of loot? They died for a purpose .

Whenever someone loses a ship, I am going to stop the world from turning and make a theatrical series of posts. This also includes the ships of less value then Titans and Motherships, since those, are obviously equal to their amount in damage. This will also include Frigates and other ships. Why is everybody so worked up over him sueciding a dread or two? Molle did the same with the titan and all he got was "Props for flying it without support, dawg!", "Wow, you rule! Flying a titan without support, balls of steel!!" and "Go Molle! Being stupid in expensive ships takes balls!". Granted I only read about the first dread, he might have done something even more fun with his other ships. But come on... This is what the forum paladins have been wining about. Honor! Balls! Duty!

Edited by: Scius on 26/08/2007 07:23:19 Be respectful of others at all times. The purpose of the forum is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas. Occasionally, there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Be courteous when disagreeing with others. It is possible to disagree without being insulting.
Ranting is prohibited A rant is a post which is long-winded, redundant and filled with angry, non-constructive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and helpful in the development of the game, but rants are disruptive and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.
Personal attacks are prohibited. Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts which are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated. Corporation, faction members and other players are cautioned to avoid allowing an "in character" dispute become an "out of character" personal attack. The game is designed for role playing and/or portraying a role and it is sometimes easy for tempers to flare when the lines between the virtual world and the real world are crossed. Keep in-game disputes in the game and off the forum, please, unless it is clearly a mutual, in character exchange.

Edited by: 7shining7one7 on 26/08/2007 13:42:29 Scius you should probably learn when to speak and when not to.
You messed up, plain and simple. There's no way around it. Even 3 months old eveians know more about ship fittings, strategy, tactical analysis and common sense than you do.
And your senseless incoherent responses and preposterous use of the mafia as a so so benevolent organization, (get off soprano and get in reality please..) is only surpassed in stupidity by your immense eve blooper.
You should maybe just have had a big laugh over that you messed up, and bowed to the smack you brought on yourself with the comments after it happened.. cause you got mad.. which resulted in you being kicked... but no.. it's about honor right..
Ok so let me get this straight. You stupidly fly into a known pirate area and engage an Eos.
mom and support warps in and you loose the battle.
Now cause you didn't do tactical analysis, you so foolishly lost 5b worth of fittings. You were mad about this.
and so you expect your entire corp to cyno in capitals to take them out.. cause you messed up solo pvp'ing?
And let's just remember how far away from home you were.. and you expect this in low sec where mom's are nigh untouchable (there's a couple threads about it in case you don't know why). that's just preposterous.. so the corp declines and u call them wusses.. you messed up, not once but twice, and lost 10b worth of ship and fittings, and then you go smack the corp.. and get kicked as a result? where's the common sense?
You can afford loosing multiple dreads a day you say, so it doesn't matter..
Oh! Then why did it matter that you lost that Nightmare to the Eos/Nyx/Support? Why did it then matter that you lost the Revelation with fitted cargo expanders?.. Good question really.
But.. damn.. expectance of cyno or not.. that fit is just ridiculous.. How long did you honestly think you'd last against a mom low sec gatecamp with that setup?.. what you say? when the fleet "showed up" they would stop targetting you? orly ^_^ even if the corp would have cyno'd in a fleet.. you would've still died. So the 2nd blooper would have happened regardless of cyno.
Well i hope ur happy with a lot of people wanting to pop you now to collect all those nice iskies that you seem to flaunt around like it was nothing. Mr. "oh i can afford loosing like 5-6 dreads a day" orly ^_^ nice loot!
I have no idea how this guy made it into IAC, but since he's so fracking rich as he says, i think IAC should pop him a few times to get some carriers and moms built.. by his own reckoning he can afford it... and he doesn't care really cause he can afford to loose 5-6 a day it's no biggie :)
my advice to you scius. shut up and learn from your mistakes!
i recommend reading the battle of The Battle of VakÆAtioth where the amarrian fleet gets oblitterated by the jovians due to lack of:
Tactical analysis
Organization
Communication
Strategy
and offcourse the winner..
COMMON SENSE!!!
A hybris / nemesis defeat of proportions.. Much like you... engaging the Eos with your nightmare, in a renowned low sec area erroneously believing there was no support coming (offcourse there is a mom there) knowing when to fly away and live to fight another day, is indeed valuable, as long as it's the best thing to do offcourse.
Look before you leap scion ^_^
offcourse that's just my oppinion.. you can go on messing up and about, left and right.. if you like... and besides.. the "i pulled a scion" phrase is quite catchy... say it out loud now scion.. cmon i know you wanna hehe.. i'm gonna teach it to some newbies it'll be a good laugh.. "ibis blows up.. Ooh my daaaamn.. " "what happened?" "oh.. i pulled a scion.. was fricking hilarious mwuahahahaha"

You were told we'd have the cynos in position to move your dread when you let us know you were ready to move it, we warned you there were motherships that camped the system and that you'ld have to be careful getting it out.
First info we get is you telling us on vent you'ld just lost your nightmare, something we'd told you to bring to a system not even in lonetrek but nm, then saying could we cyno in carriers to help you with the mothership as you almost had its shields down.
The entire corps reaction was get the hell out of there because A. You didnt stand a chance, B. Only way he'd die is if he was asleep as you cant stop them from cynoing out without getting lucky with a large neut bs gang.
Kinda moot though because I hadnt even finished logging into a cyno char before you died.
End of the day honour shouldnt be confused with stupidity, you dishonoured the Amarrian Empire by loosing that Revelation.

Do you dare make this incident a Shakespeare drama? What you experienced was not battle, you were slaughtered like a sacrificial goat in a computer game where you never actually die (misinterpret Shakespeare ftl)
No one said you are a coward btw, they said you're mentally challenged, but you insist you're not mental, but brave. This is just a simple case of dilusional compulsive behaviour that made you lose control and attack a supercapital fleet with an expander dreadnought. This is a very normal compulsion among carebears, when you blow up their miners, they come in a t1 bs and die again of course.
Now i just checked the script and it sais this is the moment you shutup

`` Cowards die many times before their deaths The valiant never taste of death but once. ``
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE, Julius Caesar
You're right you were 'Brave' you went in guns a blazin and such. Lets look at bravery throughout history and compare such events to the actions you have taken.
Lets start with the Alamo it's a good story and I know a bit about it but feel free to fill in the gaps if you know more, Wikipedia is my secondary source of info and general knowledge is my fact-checker.
Now people in this thread have used the battle of Thermopylae so lets take a look. With the invading Persians threatening the soverignty of the Greek cities they formed an alliance and decided to meet the invaders at Thermopylae with a combined force of 10,000 hoplites guarding the pass.
After fighting back multiple assaults the Persian force planned to attack from a pass that would bring them behind the Greek forces. The forces assigned to defend the pass retreated allowing the Persian forces to pass by. Hearing the news the Greek forces decided to abandon the pass and fall back to the Ithmus and make another stand there.
But if the pass was left open then Persian forces could reach Athens before the city could be evacuated. Thus 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians and 900 Laconian Helots(slaves) stayed behind to hold the pass long enough and allow for other Greeks to live as free men, knowing full well that they were going to die in the next attack.
When they were assaulted by the might of the Persian army they fought to the last man and took many Persians with them. This brave and violent act saved the citizens of Athens and the Freedom of the Greek states.
Now lets compare their actions to yours....
You went into a system widely known to be camped with an expensive ship, which you lost to their superior firepower. But by your own claim you managed to save your pod and dock at a station in system. Now at this point there are several facts to consider. 1: The forces arrayed against you are very powerful and even experienced alliances have to work at killing forces of these kind. 2: You are out of immediate danger and there is no danger to your alliance or corp mates. 3: There is no fleet assembled to attack these forces. 4: You do not have any ships fitted and ready nor in your hanger that could dispatch these forces in any manner.
Now from your testimony I've drawn these conclusions, please correct me if I'm wrong... 1: You feel that you've been dishonored being killed by superior forces in such a manner. 2: You firmly believe that every pilot in your alliance can and will jump from home to defend your honor. 3: You think that the alliance is ready and willing to follow leadership and has formed the proper forces and is ready to fight to defend your honor.
So you undock and charge back guns a blazing into a superior force, thinking that people will back you up. Despite the fact they have never said such a thing and, at the time of the incident have no capacity to help you in your plight of honor. You died fighting a battle in which you had no chance of winning to attempt to gain the honor lost when you were killed before.
Conclusion: Your bravery was for your own selfish peace of mind and served no purpose for your alliance or for your intrests in the game outside of your mind. Yet you expected them to feel hurt that their new member had his feelings hurt and rush to throw themselves at the chopping block. My question to you is: For what purpose do you serve your honor? Nothing was accomplished by your act of bravery and no purpose was served. It was mindless senseless death, similar to the way a child burns an ant with a magnifing glass on a sidewalk. The ant kept its honor but The End result was certain and served no purpose.

It stands to reason that a veteran warrior becomes such one because he/she knows when to fight and when to run away and live to fight another day, and doesn't just jump directly into a hopeless battle without any particular reason other than "FOR DEATH AND GLORY"... (do you incidently know the average age of roman centurions back in those days? there weren't many vets that really got down and dirty in the battles, only the cushy generals who directed the battle from far behind the battle lines telling the soldiers GO DIE FOR DEATH AND GLORY while sitting there having a cup of tea..
unless sacrifice is essential there is no need to jump in a hopeless battle. and need for sacrifice for a greater good of your corp or some such thing, was absolutely not the case in your situation..
no your actions were of mere stupidity not about honor or preserving some asset.. so all your arguments about honor and cowardice falls apart along with the rest of your comments. you made a mistake, it was a bad one, now just shut up and learn from it. you just keep digging a deeper and deeper hole for yourself man, wake up..

Viper, no one stood by to save anyone. For real, stop trying to make Exuro seem like they were coming with all this aid. Righteous Fairy wouldn't help anyone but himself. Regardless, you should have still organized something, even if I was all ready dead. Furthermore, Marcus said he had a Cyno pilot nearby. When you get left behind by Righteous Fairy, maybe you'll realize, your alliance doesn't care about you; they just want what they can get from you.
If it's not cost-effective you will be left behind. Or if it's too "risky" for Righteous Fairy's ship. If the fleet was on stand-by, they should've came. No one was on stand by. It's one thing to be a coward. It's another to be a propagandist.
Unlike you, I have morals and respect for people. I would have bent over backwards to assist any of my alliance members in need. One team, one fight.

Your corporation leader, Marcus, could also relate. Remember when he engaged TWO battleships outside of H-S. We all readied to come help him. His actions were just as "stupid" supposedly. However, he engaged under one pretense. " MY corporation/alliance will come to my aid. " Which is what I expected, either way, even if I did go down. I figured there would be casualties and I could have done my share of damage until you guys arrived.
However, I found myself among cowards.

setting up a cyno chain to cross half of EVE, gathering sizeable support that can handle a momaship in low-sec to make like 30 jumps, organizing a sizeable cap fleet, spending fuel for said capital fleet to jump, dealing with crashes that might come, add a bit more time for the unexpected.
let me get this straight: you want the entire alliance to come and save your "honor", dropping whatever they are doing to chase a ship that has like 99.9% chances to escape, unless you bring like 100 guys and lag him to death?
...in less than 5 minutes?
DUDE! WHAT YOU SMOKIN'! I WANT TWO!
REMEMBER THIS: in an alliance the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. You should had retreated after you lost your nightmare.

Where do you keep getting this "Five Minute" crap? I don't know why people just continue bickering, nothing I, nor anyone else says is going to change my philosophy or anything else.
Just know this, my philosophy comes from people of history, of great stature. People who would rather die than run like cowards. Even if I did 100 DPS on the mothership, I still retaliated, I still defended myself. It's a game. All my assests are replaced and than some. My point is: Exuro Mortis should have come, one way, or the other. Whether it be minutes or hours. If you are in battle, do you not expect your alliance to come? Isn't that the point of an alliance? One Team, One Fight? You are the idiot.
In the armed forces many times people are sent against overwhelming odds. However, they cannot run like cowards. No one gets left behind. It's just like you going out somewhere and a fight is picked. I think the 5 minutes came from the above. You are right though, it's more like 2 minutes. The point still stands: you can't create a cyno network and have a whole fleet ready to go up in such a short time. It takes hours and a lot of effort to move that many ship and gather that much fuel for a target that will most likely just escape as soon as you show up. ------ Dei Gloria "God is my shield and protector!" |

We fight as a team, except we fight against stupidity, rather than defending it. When someone in the armed forces is deep within enemy lines, does he do a sensible option which is to discuss with his alliance mates the best way to move his assets out safely?
Heck no! Its Hollywood. Pull out the switchblade, knife the guard, grab the machine gun and gun down the enitre enemy force. And as is usual in most hollywood films, your backup will arrive just as you kill everyone, then you wil be taken to see the president, who you somehow safe from death.
Then, in a grand finale, you fight the leader of Tri in a deadly showdown designed to fill up the last 10 minutes of your gametime, then in a spectacular finale, you kill him with a single hornet I which bumps him into a POS, causing the stront to mix with the oxygen resulting in a massive explosion that sends the node crashing, with yourself being the only person able to log back in, view the carnage with a view of the sunset zooming out to the sound of heavy metal.
Or perhaps, you deserve to be as dead as Bruce Willis was within the first 90 Minutes of Sixth Sense. --

You are confusing having a pair and having a brain. Exuro Mortis did what any sensible alliance would have done, it would have been a waste of money, time, and sanity to jump that far on 0 notice to shoot at a mother ship IN LOWSEC. They're nearly unkillable unless they brought the mother of all blobs under the best of circumstances, much less "hey guys my t2 expanded revelation is going down to a mom and a support fleet, get here ASAP".
What you did was waste a dread after you got pwned in your ********ly-too-expensive-to-go-through-lowsec-without-stabs Nightmare. If you wanted to defend your honor, challenge the mom to a 1v1 in your newbie ship or something, don't try and pwn him and the support fleet in a travel setup dread. The only good thing to come of this was relieve some stress for a lot of folks as they laughed their asses off, I know my alliance had a good laugh at your expense. We're perma -10 with Exuro Mortis, but I felt bad for them when I saw this and realized the char was ebayed.
That dread helped evict the previous owners of our space too, what a shame :( ----------------

Do you not expect your friends to assist you? Or do you expect them to run away and laugh like little fairies?
Actually my personal security is my own responsibility. Don't think that since you are in an alliance you can go to a gate camped by 100 titans and 500 mommaships and say "HAY LOOK HERE'S MY ASS! TRY TO SPANK IT! AND IF YOU DO I WILL CALL MY ALLIANCE MATES THAT ARE HALF EVE AWAY AND WILL COME HERE TO EXACT REVENGE ON MY BEHALF ANYTIME NOW! FOR GREAT E-HONOR!"
I am in an alliance because I share of the same goals. I help them achieving such goals and in return I help the alliance achieve them.
What you did was simply an act of recklessness that you try to hide with fancy words just because you can't admit that you did a stupid mistake because your emotions got the hang of it. ---

Well, one good thing about this thread is it's an adequate census for those who don't have a pair. =)
Probably more an example of an inexperienced player pumping lots of rl currency into the game to play the big guy with all the cool stuff. As I see it: Cool char, nice equipment, but you lost your nightmare due to inexperience to a mothership camp. Then you wanted revenge, took your dread with crap fitting into the fight, which was suicidal. You did it, because you had no clue and you have no real relation to how much a dread and faction stuff is worth, because you didn't need to work for it ingame I guess.
So not really a question of balls. More a newbie mistake, just that usual newbies do it with a frig, cruiser or maybe tech-1 fitted non-faction BS. But since you had the isk, you chose to learn that lesson with a faction fitted nightmare and a dread.
Anyway, good luck. Someday you'll have the experience and then the rl money that you'll probably still be pumping into this game will be used more wisely. ___________ I've never been so serious as I am now. No, really. |

Edited by: Riley Craven on 27/08/2007 02:00:25 I think I might know where the confusion for you is in what you call honor.
Perhaps the Japanese planes that crashed into American war ships late in WWII, or even the german fighter planes that crashed into bombers around the same time?
Just maybe thats how you see honor.
One problem tho, those men died trying to defend their country, losses aside, you died to defend an emotional instability.
See they all had a purpose. (losses aside)If you had any "honor" you would have said yeah I blew my ships up because I wanted to protect honor, I went down in a blaze of glory and no one can take that way from me...
Instead you said yeah I blew my ships up because I wanted to protect honor, I went down in a blaze of anger because no one came to help. And then you proceded to blame everyone else for your mistake.
Dude its not about assets or anything else for that matter. Honor is fessing up and taking responsibility for your actions, thats the honor that the military instill into people. You would have been kicked from any branch of the armed services had you pulled a stunt like that.
If anything you are dishonorable for trying to tarnish RF's good name and that of his allaince. I am starting to think you are a plant by some enemy allaince trying to tarnish someone else's good name. Thing is the only name you tarnished was yours.

I have met none of them in person. Furthermore, stop coming at me because I left your corp, after you told me how YOU bought an account and Isk. Check the character and timecard bazaar, everything I did was legal.
What about you, though? Can you vouch for your characters on multiple accounts?
You're defaming me and using hearsay to present your claims. In most legal systems this is unacceptable. Hearsay isn't hard evidence.
Defaming, however, is a crime.

What Are Defamation, Libel and Slander?
Generally speaking, defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.
Typically, the elements of a cause of action for defamation include: A false and defamatory statement concerning another; The unprivileged publication of the statement to a third party (that is, somebody other than the person defamed by the statement); If the defamatory matter is of public concern, fault amounting at least to negligence on the part of the publisher; and Damage to the plaintiff.
In the context of defamation law, a statement is "published" when it is made to the third party. That term does not mean that the statement has to be in print.
Damages are typically to the reputation of the plaintiff, but depending upon the laws of the jurisdiction it may be enough to establish mental anguish.
Most jurisdictions also recognize "per se" defamation, where the allegations are presumed to cause damage to the plaintiff. Typically, the following may consititute defamation per se: Attacks on a person's professional character or standing; Allegations that an unmarried person is unchaste; Allegations that a person is infected with a sexually transmitted disease; Allegations that the person has committed a crime of moral turpitude;
While actions for defamation have their roots in common law, most jurisdictions have now enacted statutes which modify the common law. They may change the elements of the cause of action, limit when an action may be filed, or modify the defenses to an action for defamation. Some may even require that the defendant be given an opportunity to apologize before the plaintiff can seek non-economic damages. What Defenses Are Available To People Accused of Defamation?
The most important defense to an action for defamation is "truth", which is an absolute defense to an action for defamation.
Another defense to defamation actions is "privilege". For example, statements made by witnesses in court, arguments made in court by lawyers, statements by legislators on the floor of the legislature, or by judges while sitting on the bench, are ordinarily privileged, and cannot support a cause of action for defamation, no matter how false or outrageous.
A defense recognized in most jurisdictions is "opinion". If the person makes a statement of opinion as opposed to fact, the statement may not support a cause of action for defamation. Whether a statement is viewed as an expression of fact or opinion can depend upon context - that is, whether or not the person making the statement would be perceived by the community as being in a position to know whether or not it is true. If your employer calls you a pathological liar, it is far less likely to be regarded as opinion than if such a statement is made by somebody you just met. Some jurisdictions have eliminated the distinction between fact and opinion, and instead hold that any statement that suggests a factual basis can support a cause of action for defamation.
A defense similar to opinion is "fair comment on a matter of public interest". If the mayor of a town is involved in a corruption scandal, expressing the opinion that you believe the allegations are true is not likely to support a cause of action for defamation.
A defendant may also attempt to illustrate that the plaintiff had a poor reputation in the community, in order to diminish any claim for damages resulting from the defamatory statements.
A defendant who transmitted a message without awareness of its content may raise the defense of "innocent dissemination". For example, the post office is not liable for delivering a letter which has defamatory

You definately added your contribution to smacktalk and defamement in this thread. you blame everyone else for your mistake, the corp you were in warned you several times about going into that system, and had no real chance of going through with what you proposed afterwards, it would take a lot of preparation and all that.. we allready been through this.. best would be to apologize for talking crap to your old corp, and move on.. you didn't really admit that you made a mistake scius that's why this thread continues, you talked smack to your old corp which had no basis really.. and that's how it's gotten this far.. so..

THAT IS A LIE. I was TOLD TO BRING my Nightmare TO Aunenen, TO MY dread to have it Cynoed to 0.0. As it was "necessary," he KNEW it was in Aunenen. I will admit what is true and what is a lie. Yes, I did come into Aunenen and I should have had WCS on my ship, yes. Going and getting my dread was what my CORP then told me to do. They are lying, that is why this is ridiculous. BEFORE I brought it to Aunenen, I suggested just having an ESCORT of battleships Coming to meet me in empire to have it brought down.
For the past week I hadn't even gotten my dread and was only operating in my Carrier, since that system is heavily camped. They were adamant about me going in there. Sure, I should have had WCS, or an escort. But making up lies about how they told me not to go there? No, that's bogus. It's also no reason to attack someone personally. Or defame them.

It seems as if there was a riot in Canada yesterday. So George W. pulled out 100,000 troops and sent them to Canada, but alas! When the troops arrived, the riot was over, it seems like the local police have killed all the rioters. Dont know whether to cry or laugh. Thought I had heard alot of things in Eve, but I dont think I have heard of anyone being kicked for being noobish or ignorant. _____________________________________

It's fairly sad that the alliance would bash someone for making a mistake - intentional or not.
Scius, if you had fun.. who cares -shrugs- . Ignore the bandwagon forum warriors. (lol, just don't do this too often ) At the end of the day, he's a pretty good troll :)

See they all had a purpose. (losses aside)If you had any "honor" you would have said yeah I blew my ships up because I wanted to protect honor, I went down in a blaze of glory and no one can take that way from me...
Does that mean none of it dropped?
Well for honor to have dropped would imply that he had any to begin with, so no.
Of course he had honor, why else would he have to fit expanders on his Revelation!
To hold his honor, of course!
To loot the Mummy I think, after he popped it ofc -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your signature image exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected])
