Let's not argue about numbers. When their sov is in danger, they try to save it, in this case by calling in massive numbers. Common practive all over EVE. I see it as good practice for Smashkill. Anyone can steamroll a constellation but when heavily outnumbered alternatives must be sought. More fun and less lag involved. When blobwars are out of the question, creativity kicks in. So regardless of the outcome, it will become a lot more fun for both sides.
Also I see only two possibilities for this conflict ending in less than X-months. And that is either smashkill winning or IO surrendering the system. Giving up is not an option for Smashkill. Doesn't seem it's an option for IO/Oxide/Inictus/Frege/IRON/etc(?) either, so either smashkill wins the system quickly or we'll all be busy for months to come.
But then, that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
Enjoy, people.
There's little a sledgehammer can't fix. If you can't fix it, you need a bigger sledgehammer. If it's unfixable, blame CCP. :p

Hmmm....an hour before DT yesterday in MJ, there were at least 139 pilots in local, of which 40 where Smashkill happily taking out active POS guns on reinforced POS' (in between killing the stations cloning service whenever we got bored). And aside from a shuttle flying in to see what we were doing......nothing else happened!
Guess the numbers just weren't on your side .

All of the nonsense aside, smashkill saw what they thought was a lightly defended station they could take 12 jumps from one of theirs. They knew the rest of the drone region might respond and they rolled the dice. It came up snake eyes. Now they are facing superior numbers, shouting a lot of smack, and spend their time running around ganking stragglers in an attempt to save face instead of trying to take MJ. That, as far as I can tell, is the entirety of what is going on in the drone regions at the moment.
Anything else is just good storytelling.

WooHoo first smash in thread, An hour b4 DT was amusing with the undock, dock from teh Azaru pilot from station and all the ppl warping into the station getting popped trying to dock. Still the initial engamement on the gate was fun, with very few losses on our side. Fist time ive been on a fleet where i didnt go pop 10 seconds in :P Still the fun is where its all at. those getting nasty are just whinging for losing a few BS's. It wouldn't be fun if we were not outnumbered.
IO et al have brought impressive numbers into mj- night after night thus far.. a commendable feat.
and some pretty good fights so far. Inc a nice small one with Iron last night, some vs xdeathx. We've handed out spankings and rec'd a spanking or two... what else can you ask for in a good scuffle?
Yes I remember my heritage.. that Iron road trip created a rather nice video which is still on my HD. Metallica ftw :P You Improvise. You Adapt. You overcome!

In the first and most decisive battle you were not outnumbered to any great extent and you had the advantage of bubbles and large cap fleet support and you still lost very heavily (and before you cry "lag" it affected both sides and we had to jump into you).
In every engagement where the numbers were pretty much even you have had heavy losses, your only real "win" that I am aware of being where you had an organised 70 man gang attacking a 40 man gang that rushed unprepared to defend.
I can understand you trying to play the "OMG we are blobbed" card to hide your defeats but most nights in MJ- you could have come there with fairly even numbers if you had been minded to do so.
Anyway, any truth to the rumours you have asked Tri to come and bail you out?
Tbh I would be surprised if they would want to swap one laggy POS war in BKG for another so soon, but that's up to them ofc.

Well they were in TDE shooting us today, so I guess some are in the area :o And the seem to like to play for different teams and be on the smaller numerically side. But I actually have no idea whether Triumvirate. specifically will be coming.

FACTS NOT SMACK!!!
I'm not a PVP Pilot at all, I am a long time EVE player of 4 years and a Diehard Miner. So enough about little me in the Big World of EVE.
FACT: RoadKill/SMASH far out Number IO. 2 Very Large Alliance again a small alliance.
FACT: RK/SMASH Invaded IO Sov.
FACT: RK/SMASH Intel fail them not knowing of the MAD PACT.
FACT: RK/SMASH had total control of the MJ system with at lease a Fleet of 200 in local and set shop with (at lease) 2 POS of their own.
FACT: MAD PACT responded with close to 200 ships into the TDP System next to MJ.
FACT: RK/SMASH bubbled the TDP Gate in MJ.
FACT: RK/SMASH control IO SOV and the MJ system with a Large Fleet and Large Bubbles on the gates and thinking No way the MAD PACT was going to jump into the Bubble against their Large Fleet, which again was close 200 ships as well.
FACT: MAD PACT JUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!! The rest is EVE history now.
FACT: RK/Smash lost 7 CAP SHIP, MAD PACT NONE!!
FACT: RK/SMASH Lost countless numbers of BS. BS were popping off like fireworks on a New Year EVE sky. The Battle were very fairly even in number. RK/SMACK will not post their loses but the fact is, their loses were very high, I'm talking very high. I want to salute the commanders of the MAD PACT for their control of the Fleet and awesome Fleet Tactics, I salute you all. These are FACT I was there and saw it all. FACT: MAD PACT NOW Control MJ. IO has its Sov control.
FACT: We are left with some tactical questions to RK/Smash...here are only a few and I am sure more will follow.....Why did you all have a carrier inside the bubble, a DREAD with Large guns on it, in other words battleship mods? Why did your intel fail you so badly? . That is a clear sign that you really didn't understand the will of the MAD PACT at all, Many Corps, Many Alliances, 1 PACT and we will respond and will not quit.
SMACK: Anything other then the facts.

Those of us in Roadkill who are ex-stain will never forget our heritage, you can count on that. Bob's roadtrip saved Stain? LMFAO, wrong on so many levels. Finally, IRON is not G.
