It's more than 1 hour i'm trying to connect to the game.
The client stay busy at "acquiring bulk data" and nothing append.
Need for speed ? Surly ! ^^

Are you still trying?
The bulk data process can seem to slow down ...
Do you get timeouts or crashes or just sitting there still acquiring?

Sitting there, still acquiring, progress bar went all the way to the right and it seems stuck. Music plays, escape works, but if I go back in it does the same thing.

I was suffering a similar problem.
Now i'm getting to the character select screen but either - a)getting connection time out b)host not found c)nothing
None of my characters are showing up either.  Please help.
Oh this is for both my accounts.

I'm suffering from the problem right now. It happens to me occasionally on different computers. When it happens, it will authenticate fine but when it gets the "acquiring bulk data" stage the client appears to hang, but pressing the ESC key will still cancel the load bar. Looking at my connection, it doesn't seem to be actually downloading any data.. just perhaps waiting for a signal to say that the acquiring has completed? If i just leave it for 10 or 15 minutes it will usually login like normal. It's extremely frustrating trying to log on right after DT and having to wait 15 minutes before i can login

I have been having this problem for some time, but never as bad as it is now. I always get into the game in the end but im simply not getting in now.

Same thing.
Login yesterday: Fine. Login today: Acquiring Bulk Data for the past 30 minutes.
Seriously... what is it downloading and why does it take so long? What is "bulk data" and is it possible to streamline this process?
EDIT: After sitting at "Acquiring Buik Data..." for an inordinate amount of time, I was booted and served up a "Connection to Server Lost" message. Real nice....

am suffering also from that problem. and from what i can tell it happens always and only after the server was restarted (e.g after DT) and it takes me around 5 to 4 minutes to get into the char selection screen.
i have notice that at first when i switched my ISP but in the same day a new patch was applied so it can be both.

We are currently working on the problem with bulk data download 'stalling' in certain cases, under certain ISP's.
It has been reported that deleting the entire CachedObjects bulk data folder (typically in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\ccp\EVE\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\180) has helped resolve the issue, forcing a re-download of the entire 2.2MB of bulk data which takes about a minute on a fast connection. If this helps in your case, please let us know.

Has anyone any more on this? Was playing fine this morning and this afternoon I'm getting stuck at "Acquiring Bulk Data". Removing the Cache folder did NOT help in my case. Is this ISP related....I'm with Eclipse here in the UK.

Ive been getting stuck on the `Entering game....` screen aswell, apart from after a few minutes it kicks me back to the logon screen. Having the problem on 2 PCs and im also with Eclipse as an ISP.

Just a note to say that I have the same issue. My ISP is also Eclipse internet. I was able to log ok this morning ok around 08:00. However this afternoon is another matter.
I am ether getting a "status unknown" after a long "checking status...", or the application taking ages on the "bulk data" and when I see / click on my charater, I loose the connection. I have cleared the cache as well.
I have spoken to Eclipse tech support this afternoon. The technician was very helpful looking at MTU's on the router ect, and I have pointed him at this forum thread for information.
I believe that this issue is now being esculated to the eclipse networks team. But I will post back when I get a phone call back from them, hopefully this afternoon.

Ahh nice one Autumn, I was about to contact Eclipse support myself.
Hmm I may still contact them anyway, the more shouts they get the higher prority they might give it!.

I have sent in a petition to ccp about this, informing them that I'm with Eclipse. There was an issue a few months back with Eclipse users getting dumped out of game, but that seemed to have gone away. I would encourage all others having the same problem to let ccp know via a petition.

I'm getting stuck on the log in page.... its getting stuck on checking status, and until its checked that as ok I can't log in 
I've noticed for the past week or two that its taken much longer to get past the checking status stage then before, ie, 20 seconds or so, compared with pretty much instantaneous.

hopefully this will get sorted soon.. was just getting back into enjoying the game after the last set of issues..

I agree with Slyhand - Lets not agro them, but make them aware there is an issue by logging calls and getting a reference number.
My call is already logged, if all of us that are affected by this issue log a call and point to this forum thread we should get some additional feedback, as well as making them aware there is an issue that affects more than 1 paying customer.
But I must stress that they where very helpful to me, and we must be friendly and helpful to them in order to get this issue resoulved.

I'm with eclipse as well an having the same issue - I strongly recommend people opening tickets about this with tech support.
Eclipse have had various issues with eve for a couple off months now and things had been getting better. I am starting to wonder if this is tied into the the similar Tiscali issues as I understand Eclipse are in some way tied into them.

tried the phone route to eclipse, but just ended up on hold for 30mins..
will try putting a support ticket up, i agree with everyone that hopefully the amount of tickets from different users will make them take notice..
all i can say though that sky deal for ú26 is becoming more attractive everytime eclipse has this kind of issue..

Just a quick update has I have just got off the phone to eclipse.
Positive: They have replicated the issue on their test ADSL that is routed entirely through BT without using any other upstream providers.
Negative: They are not opening a ticket (white board / public incident) at this time due to the small amount of people affected by this issue. (boo)
It was commented that there was a similar issue to this a month or so ago, and that the issue was resolved by a up-stream provider / CCP (not very clear, but I had my daughter "babbling" to me a the time).
The networks operations team are looking at this anyway, and they are operating 24/7 û so just a matter of checking the eve client for the moment I guess.
Might be nice if someone from CCP could get in touch with eclipse to try and help resolve the issue if there is problem between Eclipse and CCP's servers.
