They've done it a few times, the specific Bob incident you're thinking of is likely when the coalition was going after a 'titan' that turned out to be a mothership, iirc they put the 700 player cap in place, and had they not, the other 2000 or so players from both sides trying to get there would've likely crashed the node, if not the server as a whole in the process.
Cap was also used when LV's baby titan was killed iirc.
Do you make up things as you go along or you just repeat the crap that someone feeds you without knowing the facts?
First of all, the Titan that turned out to be Mother ship TURNED OUT TO BE EMPTY POS! All the capitals that were killed in that fight still hold the record of most capitals lost in a single battle. It was also known by opposition that it was not a baby Titan in the POS to begin with and it was held secret from their member, so basically they were all sacrificed.
Second, there was no cap limit on systems when LV lost their baby Titan, thatÆs why there was no way to defend 1K+ blob from crashing the node and thatÆs why CCP introduced the 700 cap limit in the first place.
Get your facts strait if you are going to repeat propaganda on CAOD or someone WILL call you out on in. This time, that someone is me.
You do realize they killed an empty pos, believing it was the 'titan' (ms) right? They went in looking for a titan kill and got an empty pos, it doesn't change the facts of that situation (coalition believing it was killing a titan, a MS was being made not a titan, system cap was in place). Doesn't matter that the lower ranking guys didn't know, or that they hit the wrong pos, you can ***** about who of what position knew what, my point was that I was clarifying Kraken's statement.
I'd thought at some point CCP put the cap on the LV raid due to the constant node crashed people kept *****ing about, guess not, my bad.
Also, why the hell would I spread propaganda? I have nothing at stake in that south war unless people one day can claim lowsec systems. Not everyone's made for trolling like you are.

Del369,
Take a deep breath m8, my post questioned the IAC timeline, you then went off the deep end with the "joo noob" comments.
You then got my attitude back and have totally ignored the questions I posed cos either you cant or dont want to answer them.
Go back and read my first post and You'll see I'd love to have seen just IAC and FIX going at it, would have made for a better conflict imo.
Take your smacking head off for a min, if you cant dont post. |

Stop expecting fun with these numbers. This is technical not possible.
Stob blobbing (i mean both sides). Maybe then you can expect fun.
Till then : Dont blame CCP for your own faults
we would quite happily leave it at just us and FIX
So that's why you attacked 49-U with BOS? And then, shortly afterwards, when you couldn't push past FIX, -A-? That doesn't seem like someone spoiling for a heads-up war.
Tell me, just how big is IAC's capital fleet? I'm pretty sure FIX can field more dreadnoughts than you by a factor of two; they brought over twenty to one of our ops in 49- over a month ago. FIX v IAC, 1v1, is a fight you do not want and cannot win.
Regardless, though, it's all smoke, mirrors, and hot air. We'll likely never know what would happen if IAC attacked FIX solo, barring the short period of time when IAC attacked FIX solo* and FIX defended spectacularly-well. What we have now is, I believe, technically referred to as a "cluster****", and there's nothing for it but to keep fighting these 250 v. 400 lagfests until someone gives up. We'll know soon.

I'm pretty sure AAA didn't get involved until MC did, and we intervened reluctantly after The Reckoning's cap fleet got involved. Even then we had no initial plans to deploy ANY capitals - just prevent FIX getting rolled over while we had a Titan in build. BOS was not a factor we considered relevant. But gradually it escalated, and both sides are responsible for that.
This isn't the first time either side have misjudged an opponents response to their own escalation. It won't be the last.

The smack is mainly on the forums, tbh. Ban those alts.
We are routinely joking with McBobFix in local, smack is few and far between, and gets usually scolded by alliance-mates when it happens.

I'm not 100% sure but I also think AAA only got involved after MC got involved. At least in 49-. And BoB only got involved once ED- almost fell. I still think ED- would have fallen if lag wasnt as bad as it was.
That said, IAC did have BoS and The Reckoning on their side. However Fix wasnt just Fix either, it included several other factions as well.
To me those where the fun times, after that things got 'too big' and laggy, ruined the fun. But such is life in eve-alliance warfare. ---

Actually I think -A- attacked ED- on the 12th July.
-A-'s first tower was placed in ED- on the 16th July
MC then started to support FIX on the 25th July
thats the timeline I have. |

Maybe first active MC combat. But we had seen MC Motherships near 49 way earlier, and "alternative sources of information" pointed MC was already "hired" to come help FIX. At end there was not MUCh fighting with AAA or MC without the other on field. It was a FIX-IAC fight then became McFix - IAAAC fight. Then McBoBFIX - IAAC then McBOBFix vs IRAAAC fight. And I hope stop there, the tickers for these groups are already ridiculous enough.

Are you suggesting, then, that Burn Eden, 0utbreak, and oooh Shiny are all worthless? They don't hold any outposts, either. Indeed, if the price of admission to 0.0 combat is owning an outpost, why was BOS doing the heavy lifting for you guys in 49-U? They hold no stations.
Well Pilk, I think I remember shooting yo once... but the Guys you mentioned above, in diffrece to you they never owned a complete Region
Oh ****, for this comment I will get yelled at by my CEO, but read Pilk once to often.
For the Fight in Fat: First Fight of the day was ok, reasonable Module Activation times and reloading possible, a bit laggy at the end as I tried to repair my Alt and some other ppls Armordamage. I think this first round could be said that the MCBOBFIX..."won" as they managed to destroy a Carrier that miswarped. I don`t know about IAC, but our Kills and losses otherwise where fairly even. The second fight was pure frustration. Sat there in my Alts Mega, waiting 15 Min for Grid to load, than 10 Minutes for locking and another ten for weaponactivation. After that only one Gun reloaded and was shot empty while the Rest of the guns still tried to reload. I tried to stop aligning but my BS just flew on. 10 Minutes later I was out of Optirange, 5 Minutes later I was out of lockingrange still screaming at my ship to stop and that Dread to die. Then I spammed the warp to Button a couple of times and watched TV till about 30 Minutes later I warped to the POS and had another 15 Minutes of Gridloading. I think the fight was over by then...

Min / Main potatoe, patato
I'll agree theres a lot of ALT smack and drivel in here and I dont think I was smacking or driveling, I did post a few facts.
I dont pretend to be involved, I stopped with mass alliance warfare on my previous main a long time ago when it became the lag gamble it is today, since then he sits skill training and this char runs industry to save some isk for when the servers get sorted out, but I do have a lot of friend on all sides, IAC / FIX / BOB / MC / CVA / MM / PURE you name them I know people in them so I enjoy hearing things from both sides.
As for the whole who joined in who first my opinion is it looks like -A- and IAC dogpiled FIX then MC reacted, but my friends arent in the top chans of IAC so I dont know what intel you get. I'm also supprised MC's titan was in build at the time, I was under the impression that it had been built some months ago.
So personally I think Pilk is right more than Mynas is but hey ho. |

Ah now thats very true, if we go that far back, ISS threw the first stone, FIX got brought a long for s**ts and giggles.
Then there were the 10 FIX towers dropped in FAT a few months before this recent conflict kicked off.
Funny thing is that without prohibition IAC and FIX would probably been good neighbors, there are striking simularities between the two. |

Look guys, it's simple. To those who say "Don't Blob" you're complete wastes of bandwidth. How are you NOT going to defend your home with EVERYTHING you have?
And do you honestly think that if IAC said to BoB "We're bringing 100 people in BS into FAT, that's it, come fight us clean and no lag." BoB would oblige? No...because...
CYVOK tried that. In the ASCN conflict, he offered a fair fight to BoB with no one else in the system and BoB balked. Was it because they realized a fair fight 50v50 would be a coin flip? Probably. Was it because they realized that their tactic was working (inty / speed HAC gangs to annihilate ASCN solo'ers/ratters/etc and they didn't have the hardware to compete? Who knows.
I can say BoB's invasion of ASCN was intimidating, I was there. Invasion of IAC? Can't really call it that yet, and I'm not there...but hearing reports from BOTH sides I don't think it's anything but "spicy", and that's pushing it. |

Well, if you clear away all the flames and the smoke that goes with them, what you see going on here is good stuff. The alliance is mounting a hard, sustained attack, the coalition is putting up a hard, determined defense and (at least for right now) being slowly but surely pushed back. Classic test of will. Props to everyone involved.
Whether IAC/Red/AAA and others are able to hold, or whether their line breaks and IAC gets removed from the field, there is no doubt that the implications for morale and strategic position on both sides are huge.

I have an idea for CCP... Come fleet engagements ENGAGE RTS MODE!! Where you nominated FC becomes the commander and you dont do sh** but sit in front of a blank screen till you die, at which point a message appears saying "sorry for your loss but we dont give a crap".
Hell at least it would be better than floating aroud in your tin can waiting to be popped... think of it as star wars crossed with C&C, ah C&C... those were the good old days
Even better how about a turn based alternative!!
