Edited by: Nilikam on 14/10/2007 20:33:52 Here is a very serious issue that has started to appear in EVE. It leaves users stuck out of their accounts, unable to log into the game, and even unable to log onto the website and therefore post on forums.
Here is what happens:
1) Account disabled with no reason
You try to log on and get this sorry screen:
2) Cannot reactivate account
When you try and reactivate the account, it does not reactivate refusing any credit card you submit.
3) You are totally stuck, can't talk to your corp, can't post on forums, can't get an answer from CCP. If you try too many times to reactivate the system tells you you have too many tries.
Trying to log onto the website doesn't work either:
There are other threads in this forum from people who are in this situation, but since victims of this bug cannot post, there are probably are many more.
To recap what has been posted:
- Using another credit card doesn't help, any card will be refused - Trying from another IP address has not helped - Some people had this issue disappear after a while - This has started some 4 days ago - CCP has not given any feedback or answer to anyone on this, and there are 4 days old petitions logged
What we need to know:
- Does buying a Game Time Card helps? - Anyone had feedback from CCP? - Any other information that can help really
Of course feedback from CCP would help, but apparently this is asking too much.

Edited by: momotaro on 15/10/2007 00:28:44 ye dude, happened to me too, exactly the same.
timecodes helped me. after 4 months or so the card worked again.
as i have some friends at the bank that owns my card i talked there and they told me that at the last phase of the payment eve stalls and the time allowed for the transaction passes. the sistem then says that the card is not allowed. i'm not a bank expert or anything, thats just what i understood from what they told me.
when you buy timecodes be sure they have it in stock because i got fried once and haven't received my code in half a year i guess.. so -15$ for me :D
sorry for my english. good luck with the issue mate!
later edit: i petitioned and they told me to buy a timecode.. nuff said. ******** The nail that stands out, gets hammered.

I have EXACTLY the same problem as you described, with my second account.
When it came to the date, when the next payment should happen, my account got blocked, and all further attempts to reactivate it brought me to "Not Authorised" error.
Lucky it was my alt account, and my main still playing, but I'm afraid to think what may happen when it comes to this account's pay day...
I've sent a petition from the blocked account about 6 days ago, still have no answer from CCP.

Good idea, I just sent this:
Dear sirs,
I would like to draw your attention to a problem that results in EVE subscribers having access to their accounts declined, and leaves them without means to regain access. This problem is affecting several subscribers, although it is difficult to estimate how many since victims of this problem cannot post on the forums anymore. I strongly believe this is due to a problem with CCP billing system, we have tried to gather as much information on the problem as we can in this thread on your forums: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=614023
As subscribers are deprived from access to the game and even several areas of the website, it is a very frustrating experience. Even more frustrating is that most people being affected have petitionned several days ago and received absolutely no answer from CCP, and while other threads have received attention in your forums, threads about this problem have not.
This should also be of concern to CCP as it seems to also affect new subscribers.
Please, do get back to our player community on this issue, as the lack of communication makes this kind of situation all the more difficult to deal with, as you know some players have responsibilities towards their corporations, and having no visibility on what is or is not happening makes the issue much worse.
Kind regards,
|

a litle nicer then my email thou. but hay im not a nice guy. But my real concern is were have CCP gone it apears that they have left the forum as it seam as they havent responded to anything in quite a while. maby we shoud try and cal ther main office to. If they dont respond to anything in a couple of days i might try and cal the HQ and see if i can get hold of someone by phone as they seam not to respond to emails or petitions . it is very frutrating that an acount have been suspended and that you cant get any responce what so ever.

Yea, I am also considering this kind of action, and send emails to their commercial offices and partners.
The forums do feel pretty much abandoned, but you can see moderators picking easy threads 2-3 times a week.

ok, I finally got my GTC, and guess what?
I went to reactivate my account, and while it was doing so it timed out and gave me an error... When I retried it said the code was already used, I tried to log in and it worked...
So getting a GTC is a valid workaround, especialy since support still didn`t give me any sort of feedback after a shameful 6 days...

ERROR: INSERTATTEMPT_MAX_NR_OF_ATTEMPTS_REACHED
5 days now since a GM spoke with me. I'm getting to the point where is it even worth paying for my other accounts giving them money when they dont even bother to respond to their "supposed valued customers" in a timely manner.

Have sent this email to CCP;
________________________________________ Dear mr/ms
Please read this forum link: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=614023
It seems that many people including myself has a problem paying for the subscriptions on eve-online. I filed a petition from [email protected] but have had no answer. (Others have also filed petitions regarding this problem)
I have been able to order a GTC from your web shop. So the problem seems to be with the handling of payments in the game-accounts.
Please make also respond on this forum link so people know you are working with the problem.
Best regards Hans-Thomas
Norway ___________________________________
Going to call CCP later today to verify that they know of the problem and are working on it.
If I get any replay I will post it.

what you can try is get a public IP address. meaning if you use a ISP that gives you an IP address in the range of 10.0.0.1 to 10.255.255.255 or have a IP address that starts with 192.168 you need to ither go somewere were you can get an IP address thats starts on something else if you cant do that then i dont know how to fix it at the moment as i understand it at the moment with CCPs billing system they need to be able to trace who is making the payment with an IP address and if the ISP uses Private IP addresses that trace is next to imposible to do. what you shoud eb able to do is cal you ISP and have them assign you a public IP address for a while so you can make the payment.
All this is because of companies whant to be able to see who made the payment due to rumors that CCP have had a few people frauded with ther creditcards.
hope this helps a bit. you can also go directly to your bank and do it from ther they shoud have a public Ip address so they can trace who is doing the payment.

Actually, this has been going on for nearly a month. There have been many threads about it - none of which to my knowledge have had any official postings. Essentially, if this happens to you, CCP does not care beyond a form email you *might* get in a week. You have two choices
1) start using ETC to pay for your account - no access to other features (power of 2 etc) that require CC
2) stop playing
I went with 1, for now.

I had a similar "not authorized" problem with billing. Apparently my bank put a block on my account because they thought EVE was a gambling website and they don't allow their accounts to be used for gambling. I got it cleared up the very next day. However right after I authorized the charge I received a phone call from my bank stating they need to verify some activity on my account. Apparently they don't like doing transactions too the British either. LOL! Anyway everything is cleared up and I am happily EVEing again.
Has anyone tried to contact your banks?

i have had the same problem, but have sorted it a different way, i contacted my card provider , and they were as much use as a chocolate fire guard my wife noticed that eve accepts payment from a lot of cards, visa, mastercard etc,so she used our current account which has the visa logo on it and it now works fine, i can only assume that something has changed with the way credit cards are authorised recently,so if u live in the uk, try my solution, it may work for you also,;

I've got the same problem with my alt account!
It is just poor customer service if CCP cannot publish an acknowledgement to this problem. The petition system is cumbersome and needs refining!
I've had a similar "loss of service" with my mobile phone provide and have had a refund of three months line rental for not having any service for three weeks!
Can anyone imagine CCP firstly - fixing this problem and then compensating, not just refunding days of play loss, for this mess...?
Lets keep this topic "bumped" and hope this motivates CCP to find a solution!

This problem actually caused me to delay converting a trial to a full account for a year. Each time I'd try to activate, the website would refuse to accept my CC. I'd read in the forums that I wasn't alone with this issue, others also had the issue.
The not being able to post in the forums really sucked. I was basically just out of luck. Perhaps Eve needs to have a billing forum where people can post even if their account is not current?

Yes, I have this problem too. I have 3 accounts, no problem on 2 of them. The third account, a cap pilot I have been training 15 months and who is 2 HOURS away from flying, I can no longer access because account has been disabled. He is now sitting with no training going on, it has been a week, no response from CCP. I can't even LOG INTO the account to change the credit card or use a timecard. This sucks.

I have problem with pay-by-cash method. I'm pay for my another account, but it is not reactivated in ~20 hours. I'm received mail from pay-by-cash:
"PayByCash has received your payment for EVE Online. PayByCash has attempted to communicate this payment to EVE Online, but that service did not acknowledge your payment. We will retry delivery of your payment to EVE Online later. We are sorry for the delay and will work with the merchant to discover and correct the problem they're having. Our inability to deliver your payment could be caused by one or more of the following reasons:
- temporary Internet congestion preventing communications between our site and the merchant's site, or - their site or a part of their ecommerce system is temporarily unavailable, or - there may be a problem with your account, or - there may be a problem with your order or payment.
When we can successfully deliver your payment to the merchant and get their acknowledgement from their ecommerce system, you will receive a payment confirmation via email. If we are NOT successful, we will escalate the problem to the site's ecommerce or technical engineers for resolution.
We're very sorry for the delay and inconvenience. We are doing everything possible to get your payment credited to your account on EVE Online as soon as possible. If for some reason EVE Online will simply not accept your payment, we will follow this email with further instructions for you.
Thanks for using PayByCash."

Eh Ive had an open petition for my other account now for a week. Apprently giving a hump about their customers falls way down on the list for CCP. I would gather they would like for us to be able to renew our subscriptions, however that seems to be to much to ask. Im not going to go through the hassle of buying a GTC to renew an account that should be done automatically on my credit card.

I've been waiting ages to be able to transfer a character to the buyer with no luck waiting for a response from CCP. I got a generic automated message about it and that I should contact them if the problem persisted yet it was never fixed in the first place.
Error not authorized is the only message I get when trying to complete the transfer.

No it wont be, try having correct information before laying out blanket statements. CCP updated its cc security and is falsely flagging people for hiding behind IP anonomyzers. When that happens they automatically decline your card before it even reaches you cc company. The only way to resolve it is through a GM ticket.

I see there is another poor soul such as myself, who has tried using Pay by Cash to reactivate their account. I submitted payment on 10-21-07 via the Pay by Cash method and have still not been reactivated. I have renewed using this method 8 times in the past and never had a problem. This time I received a automated response from Pay by Cash, that they are looking into the matter but that was two days ago and since then they have ignored my repeated requests for some sort of explaination. Oh, and of course, CCP has not even bothered to respond to my petition, but that is no surprise. It's very frustrating to be left in the dark like this. I would re-submit my payment but I'm afraid that would cause more of an issue than I already have.

Edited by: Daniella Trump on 29/10/2007 20:44:54 I had a very similar problem to this AN ENTIRE YEAR AGO. I can't explain it all here because it took me over 6 months to get it fixed, and I'm scared to say anything. I'm scared what they'll do to me if I speak up. I tried to post about it at the time and had my posts removed, even though all I did was calmly and without emotion explain the unbelievable, incredible mess my credit card situation was in.
I've never dealt with any company like this. Every other single company I've ever used had a billing department you could call and talk to. All attempts at calling CCP at their number met with no success.
I'd like to mention that there are 10's of 1000's of small businesses on the web, much smaller than CCP, who seem to be able to do a helluva lot better with billing. I guess we're just not important to them. |

my fear is, i have not paid for my accounts and they will soon become deactivated. I want to say i paid with a Debit card (visa) and had funds in my checking account to cover the transactions.
somthing is going on with CCP's credit card processing.

This issue obviously extends to their character transfer system too as I'm finding it impossible to transfer a character due to 'Error not authorised' issues with known working credit cards. This is ridiculous, as others have said CCP is terrible when it comes to contacting them, do we not pay enough as it is to get some sort of telephone support that works?

I was having the same issue with not being able to use my CC to pay for my account; no matter what card i used or IP i used it from, the transaction would not authorize. talked to my bank to see if there was any issue there: nope. But after looking over my account details, i realized that my personal details (name, country, time zone etc) did not match my credit info; after updating this, the transaction went through! Can't say for sure if this fixed the problem or was just purely random....

So the only way to fix this is to Petition it?

Good luck with that. A friend of ours just gave up trying after no response to petition or email for over a week. Maybe we'll get him to come back when he gets bored of wow again.
Good job CCP on loosing customers by suddenly refusing to take their money, then ignoring them without explanation.

FYI; I just had the exact same problem (error - not authorised). Sent multiple petitions with no feedback. Gave up waiting for a reply and bought a GTC(which worked), using the same credit card that could not be authorised by CCP.
I called the visa card company to confirm if there was any hold or security issue on my card, which they confirmed there wasn't and there was no record of any attempted transaction from CCP.

I had the same thing happen to me about 15 mins ago. Rechecked my account info and that was ok, but seems I left one letter out of my address (which was recurring with each transaction). I redid the subscription with the right credit card address and it went straight through.
It looks like CCP added something new to check if acct info and the info you supply with the credit card subscription match exactly.

Well they have stopped taking money from my credit card as of October but are still letting me play. There have been no problems with this credit card before. I only noticed this at the weekend when I went in to check something else and saw that I had Zero (0) playtime left on my account and that there was no cc payment for October.
However I have been logging on for a month with no problems ū
SO FREE PLAY FOR ME
However since I donĘt want a permanent ban I am going to be honest and petition this issue today. With their current appalling customer service I should get about another 2 months of free play!
Anyone else getting free play or am I the only lucky one?
Since I work in ecommerce this is my take on what has happened:
At a CCP meeting several weeks ago:
Accountant bottom line person (ABP): Well we have a problem in that we are a target for fraud because our billing system has more holes than a swiss cheese. We need a quick simple cost effective solution [read dirt cheap that takes no effort, developer time, more customer service people or special anti-fraud billing kit]
Genius Ecommerce whizzkid with business masters degree (GEWMBA): well why donĘt we just stop any payments where the credit card appears anonymous? This can be done at the flick of a switch on the current billing system.
ABP: Wow what a great idea, solution that costs nothing. I love you GEWMBA.
GEWMBA: why thank you, I love you to.
Clever techy (CT): but wonĘt that stop anyone behind a home router, with a home network and hardware firewall (a lot of people these days, especially on-line games players). Playing from college, from work in break times, shared rented accommodation with shared internet (e.g. serviced apartments). This could hit a lot of our player base; our petition system could not handle it. Should we not explore using the sophisticated solutions that Amazon, Tesco, etc etc use?
GEWMBA: look CT you'r just not with the program here, we canĘt invest in such stuff, we will put some text on the account page about not being anonymous with your IP. It will be fine, this solution maximises through life-cycle supply chain disintermediation profitability.
ABP: [In awe] I love you GEWMBA. Can I adopt you! CT get with the program, do what GERWMBA says, maximise the supply chain profitability thingy.
So the switch is flicked in October. Then the petitions start to go up.
CT: see I told yur! ABP and GEWMBA: its just a few silly people who did not read the account page information. For internet geeks they really should know what an anonymous IP address is. Huh nerds! CT: petition time is a week and rising as you know we donĘt have the speediest billing time and customer service. ABP and GEWMBA: get with the programme!
So the petitions go up and more and more and more accounts start to get closed.
CT: at this rate by the end of November half our accounts will be closed. ABP and GEWMBA: OK just let the people play on for free; itĘs a small hit until we can creatively network a solution. CT: profitability thingy? More customer service people? Amazon like solutions. ABP and GEWMBA: you are a broken record, go away, we have discussed all that. Stop being so negative, be the solution not the problem.
Somewhere in CCP the business people mull over what cheap solution than can come up next without the interference of any clever techy who might actually know what they are taling about.
Petitions answered no time soon folks and so CCP keep the grand tradition on poor online customer service for online games going. SOE would be proud.

I tried to log into one of my accounts today, and got a pop-up error telling me to reactivate my account. This is what I got when I logged into my account info:
Originally by: "eve-online" Subscription Status: Suspended Reactivate Account disabled due to billing sync error. Account was not successfully billed some time ago.
I tried clicking "Reactivate", and got this:
Originally by: "eve-online" We are sorry but you can not update your payment details unless you have less than 30 days playtime remaining on your current subscription.
Your remaining playtime is 91d:4h:59m
I tried logging into the forums, and got this:
Originally by: "eve-online" Login credentials incorrect
According to my credit card statements, my card was billed in August and is due to be billed again right now. Instead I am locked out and cannot reactivate my account. This character is on my only other account and I fear it will also be deactivated tomorrow as my credit card is billed on consecutive days.
I will file a petition shortly, but in the meantime, what is the problem? Has my card company failed to process payment? Can I resolve this by contacting them, or would I be complicating matters further?
Any help greatly appreciated.

I've just been through the same problem and couldn't post here. It was a pain in the ass... lost a few training hours too unfortunately but now i bought a GTC and I am back. I filed a petition and I got a very quick response. They told me they made some changes and it should work now... but it didnt so after that they told me it was a problem at my bank and that I should call them. I did and everything was fine. So after 102 attempts to pay with 2 CC ... VISA and Mastercard and 2 different ips and 2 different browsers I got tired ... went to the bank and payed with cash for a GTC. I told the GM about this post and that lots of people are waiting for an answer in here but he didnt reply to that. So I guess your best choice right now is to buy a GCT until all this is fixed.
