Yeah, also the mentality was different back a few years ago as well.

Explorers had a lot more respect and common courtesy towards each other. After warping in on another player in the site, most would watch a bit, say hi and ask if any help was needed. Afterwards would say good luck / good bye and warp out.

Seems the overall attitude now is 'Screw you, it's mine' with the common practice to barge in, blitz, trigger, cherry pick and or steal the loot whenever possible.

What's even worse is that type of behavior is expected and encouraged by some.

Just the other day I happened to warp in on another player in the first room of a DED 4/10 site. He had already cleared out about half of the NPC's. I watched him for a bit and killed a few NPC's who switched aggro to me, I then turned the wrecks blue and warped out leaving message in local :

Me = Good luck with the site, hope you get a good drop.

The player = Why you leave? Command ship clear site faster then Assault ship.

Me = You were here first, just showing some respect and common courtesy. I can go find other sites.

The player = TY, not many people do that. :)

Me = No problem, was the custom in the past. Maybe you do it to others and help bring back honor to exploration. Cya o7

The player = OK :) o7


Now the question is will that player show the same respect to another? If so, will those players continue to pass on this tradition to others? I certainly hope so.

Hmmm if a 100 rookie ships do 2 damage each...that means i need a tank of 220 to survive alpha...So no shuttles...maybe a pod...hmmm. Perhaps play the Jump Clone game in which i falsify and make you believe i am in old man star. Then JC to BR...then pod jump to empire in which u conveniently can not hot drop me, and i have concord as my boo. Hmmm yes yes.

Hmmm but how to deal with tracking disruptor on my pod or shuttle. Maybe...get squire implants?

Ahhh, you're forgetting the Crimewatch mechanic so no Concord action in high sec. Also don't need a cyno to hot drop when location is pinpointed by covert scout. I guess I forgot to mention those rookie ships are T2 fit as well as being boosted by my Command ship, more or less that equates to a slow agonizing death by a million paper cuts.

So now the question is how much is the ransom?

Hmmmm this looks like i need to upgrade to a limited addition shuttle. Perhaps Gray will offer invulnerability field service for me. Also, surrender? why would i do that, when Suddenly Spaceships offers a service. I am sure for the right amount of iskies and glomps they will help. Wouldn't all the T2 fit rookie ships be afraid of MJD fit industrial's coming to my rescue.
