I've looked at the EULA many, many times just for this.
The last few times I've looked through the EULA, I've been quite certain changing the UI doesn't void it. I'll look again;

Yeah, so that doesn't actually specify modifying the appearance of UI elements, because changing the UI doesn't give benefits that can't be acquired in game. And changing resource files (assuming that the client won't malfunction as a result), wouldn't be classified as using third-party software.
BUT, as for legal hacks, I actually found the bit:

Now, I didn't actually notice that particular part, until now. "Game Content" would sum up content produced.... by the game, right?
That seems pretty conclusive to me.
Changing the UI doesn't seem to go against the EULA. It's not specified anywhere.
You would just have to get around changing them in the resource files.
I see everyone saying changing the game is illegal, but, I can't see it.
