So, I was about to explain my post in a Drifter thread to somebody who countered (misinterpreted) it, but, like, I got 200 words in, and realised, I seriously just cannot be bothered.
Seriously. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5883004#post5883004
I make quite a few posts on Drifters. Every so often I get influenced by that thingie where you think somebody knows something because you do, and in my case, give no context.
Like, at the start it feels fine. "Yeah, I know exactly how I'm going to respond to each single point." But.... then you started writing and it's like: "Oh, I'm gonna have to put thought into this..... mmmrrghhhhh....."
Have you ever had a situation where, you have such a heap of knowledge about something, and then you have to try and pull it all together coherently along with justified opinions, and realise it'll take all night & day to actually do so?
Yeahh.... I don't think I'm going to be doing that...
Alternatively, I guess, I could probably just repost this as a two word response.
"Point < Moot"
And then just repost it again.. aaaand again....... annnnddddd......
Do you think he'd get the point? |

Good luck at the dentist.
Anyway, 3.5b in Vargur and pod down, with another 300m worth of Rapier and pod for a chaser.
Certainly good to be back home with Iso5 again. Things are a touch quiet here recently, leadership change as our founder returns to EVE and our directors a bit burned out after a marathon, amazing effort this past year. Lost about twenty pilots recently, I'm confident things will pick up though and am proud to be a part of it.
I've got a bit pissed off at my corp at times in the past, and I'm sure I will again in the future. But high emotion = family, and the girls and I certainly don't intend to leave at any point soon.

Ah, ok i was mislead by the 5" term, you know as a German the first you think is it must be some USN or RN ships when the caliber is in inches. |

I'm getting the family feeling from Pyre too. I've known a few of the guys here for years. Others I've had drinks with IRL on multiple occasions.
Some I just know by reputation. Sometimes I get annoyed with things. But I like flying with these crazy-ass people.

I'm a solo player, to be honest. 3 of my 5 years in EVE I spent happily solo everyday. Well, not "alone", I would still fly with others (like when I spent 6mth in Faction wars) or fly with my neighbors in my own wormholes. But did my own thing, own corp.
It was massive for me personally when I broke out of that and app'd to Sky Fighters. During all the downtime alone I'd get to read about these big battles, cap ganks, epic videos, merc operations. I wanted to be a part of that! And I wanted to be with fellow Aussies doing it, and I also wanted to be able to shitpost as much as I wanted on the forums with no restrictions. Sky Fighters met all these criteria.
Only time I've ever app'd to another corp. From there Sky eventually folded and I merely followed the guys to Rolled Out. When Rolled Out went under I went back to solo life. Lasted maybe a month or two before I was invited to Iso5 by guys I flew with in Rolled Out. So essentially it's been the same people since Sky Fighters. Folks who accept me, enjoy my little characters and antics and make me feel like I'm contributing something important even if I can't see how myself.
Give me acceptance, a lil love and some freedom of speech and I'm loyal until the day I biomass.

I really can't play solo anymore. I get so bored, I turn the game off.
As for corps, I need them to be competent, engaging, friendly, organised, but not so big that you're a number more than a person. Being in my timezone is a thing, too. Otherwise I end up solo, and we know how that ends. Respect is a huge thing, too. I've awoxed due to a lack of that. The guy was a lot nicer afterwards. Once he got over it. Funny thing was corp leadership didn't tell me off for it, I made it clear what had happened, and my reasoning, and they made it clear to the guy that annoying me isn't a good idea.
I used to do PVE mostly solo, and I'd get maybe a mission or two before I got bored. The only way I can orbit FW buttons is if I'm fishing for a kill.

You're always shitting up corp chat pretty bad, pub chan and especially Slack posting screencaps n' chatlogs.

Haha awoxxxing GÖÑ I'm the same. I've put corpmates into structure when I've been in a bad mood and they've said something on comms about my ship choice or something. Haven't killed one yet though. I've even spewed "lectures" in corp before saying if anyone disses on my little characters, playstyle or my love for RP I will awox them repeatedly until they apologize or I am kicked from corp. Leadership knows what I'm like, they sit quietly and say nothing while Erica-rage plays out.
I think the only way I differ to your approach is I could happily return to solo life. Eventually, one day, I probably will too. Erica and her former-beloved had even planned it, I really looked forward to the day Erica and co retired to our little C2 to have babies, gank drakes and RP for hours everyday together.
But that's just me. I get as much joy out of a few hours of RP as I do ganking a Drake, or ganking a 30b cap fleet.
Simple life is enough for me. Everything else is just an exciting bonus.

I killed the guys mining barge while he was afk, pointed his pod, and ransomed him for a reasonable amount, only 40m. he decided to swear at me. squish went the pod. then he raged in corp at how i owed him a new ship and stuff. he was informed i didn't owe him a damn thing. I'd have fought him in proper combat, but he wouldn't undock his combat ship and went afk. but he did leave his mining alt in space nearby with an open fleet. which i invited myself to (thanks fleet finder) and warped right to him.
i'd post killmails, but i don't think i'm allowed here...I did get the corpse from the pod, and someone else who didn't like him paid me 150m for it.
now i think about it, i think my problem with solo play came from way back when i played runescape. trying to max out a fishing skill (99) i got to 95 by grinding, usually with no one to talk to to pass the time. i got bored at 95, enough to quit the game.
solo play feels like a grind to me, as does orbiting FW buttons and PVE, unless i'm kill fishing.

After nearly 3 weeks of getting to bed the day before I wake up.......
.....OP success. I now can get tired at 10.30pm and easily get to sleep at night.
It's actually been a really, really, really long time since I previously would sleep at night for consecutive days. I think it was nearing, like, 2 years, or something similar. 1.00 o'clock isn't that bad, but 2.30-3.00 o'clock was around about my average.
I often get reminded here that I'm not alone (I think I remember?) with getting short hours sleep, but, at least in my city, and with relatives, friends from around the place.... pretty much everywhere outside of the internet, getting really short amounts of sleep was terribly out of place. I was reminded practically every single week.
Anywho, that's been my up-note of the month.
I've got another computer to access EVE on again, so hopefully if I can sort my test server password out, I'll match up my portrait on another character so I can get a big fluffy teddy!
Woo! What a thought!

I recently(ish) joined one corp too. They got evicted from a WH but they gave pretty damn fight, carriers, dreads and lots of subcaps. So I thought like wow such a epic battle. I want to be part of such a battles! And because they are non english, its harder for them to get skilled ppl. So I thought I might be helpful. So I joined them. Well but later I discovered they do a little of pvp in WHs and in prime time they farm a lot. Not like I'm complaining, its just a fact. Ppl need to get the money somehow. Some just buy plexes, some farm sleepers, some do manufacturing/market stuff. But if you live in high class WH it would be good to do some pvp, not pve all the time. They fly to null too, but I dont want to die in Svipul with 600M pod ...
I kind of like them, they speak my language, which is ++++ and are easy going. Well not all time, you always have elitist pricks somewhere, crap talk is common too, but at least they leave me alone, I dont talk that much :-D However its hard to find someone normal to talk about ship fits, fleet doctrines and stuff. .223 is the name of the cartrige, the same it is with the for example .22-250 .222 and the .224 and so on and so forth! The bullet diameter is always the same, it's .224 (5.6896mm) measured at the grooves and 5.56mm measured at the lands of the rifling. Same goes with .308 and .30-06, the bullet diameter is both .308 (7.8mm) at the grooves and the 7.62 measured at the land of the rifling. The imperial description is always a description of the whole cartridge, it's not only the bullet diameter! Using metric in this case would be easier because would would see the difference right away. .222 Remington= 5.56x43mm .222 Remington Magnum = 5.56x47mm .223 = 5.56x45mm .224 Weatherby Magnum = 5.56x49mm .225 Winchester= 5.56x49mm .308= 7.62x51mm .30-06Springfield = 7.62x63mm .300Weatherby Magnum= 7.62x71mm .300Winchester Magnum= 7.62x67mm

Been offered money by people tackled before though, always say no. Don't need the ISK just want that dankmail.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I've got a bit pissed off at my corp at times in the past, and I'm sure I will again in the future. But high emotion = family, and the girls and I certainly don't intend to leave at any point soon.
I'm getting the family feeling from Pyre too. I've known a few of the guys here for years. Others I've had drinks with IRL on multiple occasions. Some I just know by reputation. Sometimes I get annoyed with things. But I like flying with these crazy-ass people. That's awesome. Gotta have that home feeling.
I enjoyed reading this. Reminded of times past and all the great friends that I met along the way in EvE. |

Well hello there, Ms Quincannon.
That's nice of you to say about Boss's words. Brings delight to the heart of this Banana.
Not almost as delightful as the sight of your beauty gracing this thread again. My peel's coming off all on it's own right now and not many people can say they've accomplished that.
How's life been for you?
