You say that we'll have to pay "($ or Ç based on geographical location)" - So, do you decide where we are or can we change anything about that? Due to the current weakness of the Dollar a little change might be in order...
Have you ever thought about charging your customers in ISK (I mean the islandic krona)? Credit Cards can be charged in all currencies you want, and the rest - well, if their currency drops, they'll need to pay more... --- This is your Captain speaking. a little history about the euro and the us dollar
1 euro (may 2003) = 1.17 us ( eve released) 1 euro (dec 2004)= 1.37 us 1 eure (nov 2005) = 1.16 us 1 euro ( nov 2006) = 1.30 us
1 euro (nov 2007) = 1.47 us
In this time the euro never goes lower then the us dollar. + it will raise up more and more and going to be stronger in future.

Switch global oil markets to the Euro
That would probably push the US into an economic depression. Part of me thinks they deserve it (the richest top 5% anyway) but the more sane and sensible part hopes it doesn't happen.

Only a 2 monthly based subsription which is baesd on the us dollar and the rate of exchange to the euro. Payed via banking.
or " swallow it or let it"
At the present time the Euro is extremly overvalued, more so then it normally is. I wont get it to the specifics but the Euro as a whole, if we were speaking in strict economic output and overall health of the econemy should never once have been worth more then the dollar. However that is not how the real world rolls.
I will say with great certanty that you are indeed wrong, in a maximum of six months, and most likly sooner the market will realise that the dollar is undervalued comparativly. And with the foregin investments made into america during the time of dollars weakness the US econemy will get strongers as exporting gets cheaper and imports begin to fall by the wayside. As defined by C+I+G+(I-E) the US gdp will then rise again, further strengthing the dollars value due to an increased trust in the then reviatalised econemy.

Like it or not, US economy going into a depression would likely drag most other economies with it. US consumers stop buying as much stuff, which a large % is imported.

Plz more specific which u dont wanne go in, woud help more then hyptohesis. This numbers(i had post) are the rate of exchange within the last 4 years.(lowest in this time) The strong euro makes it in future perhaps difficulter to export stuff, cos low dumping prices from other states.( if u pay for the same product in low valued dollar) And there will be a change ( the dollar goes up agian about the strong input )... ( up and down all the time is the ecenomic market or? ) and then again.... If the dollar is to strong the euro raise up again.
But the point is that the euro was all time ( since eve released ) more WORTH then a Dollar ( look at the numbers which are Facts)
But the actualy fact is (30.11.2007 1 Euro = 1.46... US dollar) a european pays 46 % more then a Us citizien. And te point is not if its under or overvalued by investments or in/ export ... the point is what u pay in the end.
If the Dollar raise up and the euro goes under 1 dollar it should be change then to us citziens ( found a way.)
I personal believe this will no Happend within the next six month.( if u will get a dominix from me cos its same worth then a megathron) <- a sarcasm joke but the dominix u will get if

As for the Euro being overvalued - only as a result of the run on the Dollar. It's one of a couple of safe havens that people are moving their money to.
A more accurate picture is that the dollar has been overvalued for the last twenty years but moderated somewhat by the fact that cheap oil has allowed the US to invest in infrastructure. The problem we now face (I think) is that with the Dollar underpinning the world's economy it's beginning to look like the world's economy is overvalued. That would imply that we're in danger of a global adjustment.

We (USA) have finally started a counter-attack on the under valued YEN. The Euro just got in the way. (sorry for that) It's possiable that the Federal Reserve might lower interest rates even more with the result of an even LOWER dollar. All of which is good, but 15 years too late.
Hopefully this will break our addiction to cheap imports and cheap gas, even the Trade Balance and spur US job creation at home. (It's about time) ---------------------------------------------------

Sadly, this is true. Consumer perception is idiotic at best. It's like Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. People are always looking for HD-DVD and saying it's better (personal experience here), when in fact, Blu-Ray is a better product, supported more, and less proprietary than HD-DVD. BUT, because people see a standard acronym like they are used to seeing (VHS, CD, DVD, etc.), they think, oh HD-DVD, that sounds like a DVD in HD... and it sounds less proprietary than Blu-Ray, so it must be better... when it is, in fact, not.
Case in point, consumer's make a lot of decisions based on silly things... so I have no problem in believing that people would see 1,000 and immediately think they would rather play another game where they charge 14.95. Go world.

Don't forget, the US doesn't have to pay VAT, which instantly adds about 15-25% to anything bought in Euroland.
Sales tax here is between 5-10%, with most states in the 6-7% range.

Ah, a blue-ray fan. I am not really going to knock blue-ray but I will say this, the reason why there are so many Blue Ray machines out there is becuase of the PS3. Blue-Ray was not designed to be backward compatible like HD-DVD, from some of the different reports I have read they are implementing that feature. Finally, Blue-Ray is geared more towards DRM than HD-DVD. That is one of the reasons for the initial fight was DRM. Blue-Ray has it locked down more.
Now - back to the topic at hand, I do understand that it does take more dollars to buy the Euro. I am not an economics wizard so I am curious, who is really being cheated here the Americans or the Europeans? There was another thread speaking about this stuff before and it appeared as if CCP was actually helping the Europeans by not charging some sort of fee that has to be charged based on location between EU members by trying to keep it a flat rate. Which if that is the case then it would sound like you guys are actually paying less for the game and then paying a tax on top of it make up the difference.
I would like to know what the Economists that CCP hired has to say about all of this.

I did some very unscientific research comparing Sweden to the US once a long time ago. You have to keep in mind that there are big differences in Europe so this isn't true for every European country. I should also probably mention that I did this using google a lot.
As you say, the salaries are better in the US, you get about 30-40% more. But you have a much greater difference between low income and high income as well, so there are people making less than you'd make in Sweden and people making a lot more money.
One interesting thing I found when finding some articles about people moving US to Sweden and vice versa was that you really didn't have it better with that increased income. A US family with 30-40% more money actually had pretty much the same situation as a Swedish family with 30-40% less income. And someone who moved to Sweden had been worried about loosing so much money but found that you could live comfortably on less money.
You can probably debate if Sweden if the same, worse or better than the US. My own conclusion was that you were slightly better off in the US as long as you were single and healthy, but if you start a family and have to save for college and everything else, you're probably better off in Sweden.
But as I said, it's really debatable, if you are in a profession that makes the 30-40% more it could be ok to move, if you're in a category that makes less you really shouldn't move and if you're a doctor you really should move since they make 50-60% more.
The biggest surprise for me was that i thought that you had a financially better situation in the US and that turned out to not be true, or at least it didn't look like it was true.
And to get to the point, when it comes to the USD vs EUR, the only people it has gotten cheaper for would be the ones paying in USD but not living in the US. For anyone living in the US it hasn't become cheaper just because the USD is low, they haven't magically gotten huge raises in salary.

What people are "talking" about is that we see Dollar becoming less worth comparing to the Euro, and of course we want to pay in Dollars then :)
But still finds it a bit odd that you don¦t use a single currency for debits in this game. (all thought there are economic reason not to)
US residents would ***** in the same way if Euro fall true the floor.
And your not raising game price in dollars due to inflation witch sends the message to us all to buy GTC¦from the US.
If this i the course of action you want to take, why not make all game time purchases be in Dollars (and you might adjust it for VAT for euro residents if need be, but not sure you really need to do that thought, i payed for WoW in dollars i believe)?
VAT reasosn are a bit shaky I would think.

Look man, there are very important tax rules, and since CCP's servers are in London, which just so happens to be in the same country that can tax dead people by kicking their children out of their home to cover inheretencec tax liability, I have one thing to say.
CCP aint going to comment. If CCP know you are european, then good for you, and they are obliged to charge you in whatever form as long as someone in europe gets tax. If you move out of europe, then you could petttion it I guess. A loophole is GTC's and no serious Judge is going to make a prescident on GTC's. No personal record is made of who holds a GTC since a GTC is a bearer document. Therefore who ya gonna chase up for tax?
Brittish tax rules from abroad is simple. You pay brittish rate of tax on your earnings minus whatever tax you paid foreign goverments. If you paid more tax to a foreign goverment than the brittish goverment whould have changed in tax if you worked in the Uk, then insted of any fancy refund, they would just laugh you off and say that you have suffered enough! BUT for those paying Euro it IS more expensive, a lot more, compared to anybody paying in USD... since you so eloquently put it, Europeans get less money to begin with, but they pay more than just the actual VAT value for EVE. Since x USD *(1+VAT%) < x EUR, and (x USD)/USDsalary >= 1.3 * (x * EURUSDexchangerate EUR)/EURsalary.
RIGHT NOW, 1 EUR = aprox 1.47 USD Assuming a 35% higher salary in the US compared to Europe, as a percentage of salary, 1 EUR = aprox 1.98 USD Now, this means Europeans pay roughly TWICE as much of their salary for EVE compared to an US citizen. Even discounting VAT (which should be 24.5% in Iceland, and 25% is the maximum allowed in the EU), and ignoring salarial differences, 1 USD * 1.25 still barely reaches 0.845 EUR... or in other words, roughly +18.3%.
So, no matter how you put it, Europeans pay MORE as anybody else to play EVE. Depending on HOW you put it, Europeans pay between 18% and 98% more !
Now, why is that ?

But for those with investments in gold for the past few years from when the USD was strong, holy hell, most.awesome.investment.EVER.

Wow, having read the postings in this thread, I must admit that I did not realize the elitist attitude of the European player base. To think that I considered you guys civilized all this time. What a farce.
Once NOL has been purged with cleansing fire, and all the vassals are put to the sword, I'm sure we'll have a lovely little cold war, your bloc and ours.
