Uk have caught up a bit in the past 3 years or so, what with the whole "claims-direct" advertisement spamming every 5minutes. Fear Me, Love Me.. Whatever You Wish. |

Oh come off it. None of you can tell me your time in getting your computer back up and running was worth suing CCP over. If you lost your "data" your pron downloaded from the interweb is also not worth suing ccp over. Sue happy ******* need to get a grip. You're not entitled to anything for an unnecessary wipe. I hope any of you that decide to sue ccp lose lots of time and money and get nothing, better yet I hope you end up having to pay the legal fees incurred by CCP.

While CCP should be held accountable, I don't think that class action is justifiable.
I work in software. We all know that EULAs don't hold water. Hell, the fracking lawyers know they don't..... and have said it....
These EULAs are there to scare off the layman, basically.
Now, should anyone sue anyone? no.. There was no data loss, if you choose to have someone incompetent deal with it - your fault. If you choose to try to deal with it yourself, your problem.
Should CCP hand out some form of compensation? yeah.... probably. The courts and lawyers are too damned corrupt to do it, IMHO. I want to puke every time I hear the sue word, it's like everyones little weapon... I'M GOING TO SUE YOU!
You lost your bookmarks? aww.... Your **** collection? aww..... Your chat logs of you and your online girlfriend? aww....
SORRY! BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME! CCP I am sure will reboot the test machines afterwards from now on.
As far as you sue happy asshats running eve on a company development machine that happened to have your last years code or something with no backup? Your a bonehead, you screwed up.... take your firing like a man.

End of the day, anyone that sues CCP is going to EPIC FAIL at Eve and probably at life.
You want to sue? Then better learn to love WoW cos if CCP goes bust that'd be what you're playing (well, more realistically EA or some other big company would probably buy CCP, but then we're just trying to work out which one is the lesser of two evils and how long it'll be until the Eve New Game Enhancements hit)
Anyway, point is **** happens, things don't go to plan, life goes on, So STFU and get on with it. _______________________________________ Comfortably Numb |

All i can say is sue the morons who put valuable information on there computers and don't do that age old thing called backup/ they do make external drives. ontop of that dont play games on yer work dependant machine. The real problem is that there is often to many people who will spend time working at the computer and have not fracking clue as how they work. This is your fault. now i know we cant know everything. but those who reformatted shoudl have been a bit more patient. And if you lost work then maybe backup and or not playing on yer work machine. Do u sue the cable company when the lines go down. or the cell phone company when out of range.... i mean cmon..
I do feel CCP dropped the ball with this patch this one has had the highest malfunction ever. but they are adding a new engine, so bugs are expected. i have tons of problems with the eve classic but to sue them. lets find something better to do. That way they might actually fix the game instead of dealing with stupidity of people trying to threaten them legally.

My thoughts the person who started this post has to be an american cause only we are that greedy. I mean come on a member of our corp had that problem took 2 minutes to put the file back i mean your computer keeps a back up, and for two come on whats the point they didnt know it was gonna do that, true there are alot of things they should have tested before putting in this patch ie pos's but sheesh if your gonna say yeah d/l the patch well then i guess your stuck with what happens. Truthfully my computer is a piece of **** and it did just fine. The only thing that bothers me is i cant run 2 characters anymore :( other than that meh.

CCP holds an office in Georgia which is in the United States. Therefore they are actionable for a class action suit to all players who have attained losses due to the BOOTINI incident. CCP's EULA does not cover windows operating systems and therefore they are again actionable for loses. CCP's EULA is very thorough, however they do not control licences for Microsoft and cannot deploy a EULA under those circumstances. Remember this. If you bring suit against CCP you will have to forfeit your term of use. You will never be able to register another CCP game again. you will have to quit your current subscription. After ten years of litigation you will get close to nothing. CCP wins. It is the Law.

would be funny as hell if CCP lost the suit and had to pay using the in-game currency, then banned all the recipients for effectively buying isk. They would, after all, have hired a lawyer with RL money to get them in-game isk. hilarious. To the OP, just because "International Law for Dummies" is summarized for use at a 3rd-grade reading level doesn't mean it's right; just means you need to improve to a 3rd-grade reading level.
