Hi T'el'Alana,

The "Buying&Refining" sheet was just what I was looking for. I have a few suggestions on it.

I'd like to see the "sell" price of minerals on this screen. It's best if it was only changeable on the "Basic Stats" screen, but could you add a list of read-only protected cells which hold the sell values of minerals, down beside the buy values? These values would obviously be linked to the stats page and change when it changes.

Also, could you either include a field beside the quantity which shows how much ore would be needed so there is no extra ore left at the end? ie If I put in 335 as a quantity of veld to buy, it will either tell me I need 333 for exact batches, or it will tell me I will have 2 pieces of veld left over. Just so I can then buy the exact amount of stuff I need and not have extra bits lying about cluttering up my hangar. It'll obviously be more useful when I'm buying 251,137 units of veld for example.

I do like the profit % calculation. That's a nice touch I hadn't asked for.

Keep up the good work! Very Happy

Greets.

Beta 7!

I think I've changed enough to warrant a new number.. Anyone know the programming etiquette for changing versions?

Mainly changed the look of 'basic stats', added a few things with fubars help on the 'buying&refining' sheet, and simplified alot of code for myself.

Suedomsa: I have a better source.. the BPs themselves Very Happy

I've finished catalogue-ing all the BPs ingame, now to fiddle with the data. BTW, it's fun to see over 400 BPs in your hangar.. and alot of them tech 2 Cool

Looks great so far.
Everything I've asked for and more, don't think there's anything else that I need from a mining spreadsheet utility.
The only other thing I can think of is the item refine data, that you've already got planned and underway.

As far as versioning, we are on version 6.10 of the software we develop. The first number increases every time we do a major release that includes requested changes.
The second number after the decimal increases by 1 every time we release a small development or make a bug fix release.

If you want to use change management, you could add a change log at the start to document what has been changed in each release.

Oh no, I'm thinking about work during my work hours.......Confused

wopstah I: There is a circular reference going on in the mining calculator, it's there for a reason.

If you're having problems with it, try going to tools->options>calculations-tab and make sure iterations is on, and it's set to 50-100 or something like that.

I'll increase the eye-cathing factor of the 'notes' comment I have on that sheet.

Will you be updating this spreadsheet to include skills like Minning lvl and Astrogeology lvl's? Or have they already been included.

PS
This is an AWESOME spreadsheet nicely done.

Jellybaby: A strange question.. Of course they have already been implemented. All the relevant skills are on the 'basic stats'.

If you're having problems understanding the sheet, I'd like to know what you would think would make it easier for you to understand it. Thanks.

T'el I am having a problem with the price of selling minerals in Beta 7. I put in scordite and the mineral selling prices is way too large. Like 635,516,220 isk an hour? this is on the Mining stats page.

Keep up the good work

you can change the prices without unprotecting the sheet. All prices should be in unprotected areas.

First off havent seen the sheet, will be waiting till I get home to check it out...

Secondly, I have a sheet attached in my sig that was made by Dirius, Great sheet. Easy to use and understand, and free for everyone. Although definately not as complex as the sheet your stating in here.

Third is that if you want this to be super dooper easy to use include a faq / instructions as the first sheet to open after DL. Yeah I know what a pain! but that will help a few of the newer people to excell understand how to use the sheet. BTW Im glad to see someone has fixed the rounding problem.

Have you maybe also thought of putting "notes" (the lil red triangles on the cells) as to a description to what they are needing in that field and / or if they can change that field? then as you post the revisions, on the FAQ / Instruction page you can list all major and minor changes Razz, and it wont clutter any other pages.

Oh and can this be imputed into a database for call up in javascripting? that way there can be an easy in game website maybe? I have a ton of Ideas just dont fully know what or where to go with them. Heck I still have to learn HTML 1 to write a ingame site. Oh and soon(tm) the ingame browser will support HTML 4 so thats maybe an Idea as well... basically I would like to be able to get it so that I dont need to use winders mode to do all this stuff... hence why I dont use these most of the time. I just get a super refiner from the corp to refine.

Greets.

No new updates on the mining guide. No one has any problems with it, so that's cool, finally no problems :)

Thus I'm using my spare time to work on the new guide. I thought it would be fun to release a few pictures of some of the new sheets to let you see, and maybe to get feedback about it.

owned blueprints sheet

- Here is where you just choose from a list what blueprints you got, and the rest of the sheets will give you a drop-down list of the items in this list. It's important that no spaces are used between items.

Owned T2 items

- put your T2 things here.

Hauling sheet

- I thought this might be more interesting way of keeping score of things. Instead of having to add all trit from all the stations in assets and then input it into the sheet, I thought it would be easier to just having to input minerals/ore in each station. This of course gives an opportunity to calculate number of hauling runs. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Mining calculator sheet

- just thought it would be interesting in seeing the owned_bp list in action on the mining calculator sheet.

factory sheet

- Here you can see the requirements for runs, and the text goes red if you don't have the minerals in stock.. either in ore, or pure mins.

The research sheet isn't nearly ready.. still have to do alot of stuff there.. I'm also thinking of having npc loot sheet, a finance overview sheet and a few other things.. Just general brainstorming really..

Chiara: Soon(tm) Very Happy

I'm just kidding. I'm battling with the research sheet.. it's hard to think of the best ways to depict what mineral efficiency is the optimum one to reach for.. it's different for each person and their goals. When that's finished, I'll go over all the rest again and try to make it look simpler and do more with it.

So, I'm guessing at the latest friday next week will people be able to check it out. There is however one variable that might increase that delay, but I'm hoping that won't be the case.

I'll get the last batch of bps today or tomorrow (then I should have everything which is live on tranquility server [I'm hoping..]), I'll confirm everything this week, and go over a few things, so saying friday next week is giving me some slack-time.

What I've yet to do: research sheet, npc loot sheet, item sheet, feedback sheet.

If someone wants to help me out by giving me market values of items (no small feat I may say) then I'd be very grateful. You can also send me chatlogs from the trade channel at [email protected] it's in CCP\EVE\capture\chatlogs

T'el:

Nice sheet and setup. I was looking for something that had all the ships Mineral reqs already included though. I have access to a private site that has all that you have here, is ingame compatible, and Has most of the ships in the game. I do appreciate what you have done but it is not usefull to me at the moment. Ill check back later when you have the next few updates. Also let me know if you have a DB of all that information and we can work something out :)

Well.. since there has been all this talk about the "ultimate" mining sheet i just wanted to release mine so people could judge for them selves.. mine is more of a
Build manager: Here you can choose some items you want to produce, the
sheet calculates how much mineral/isk is needed to produce the order.

Mining, Corp Vield , Refining, ME-Savings, Buy/Sell orders, BPs, BPCs, Research.

so, if you want to download it, the newest version is on www.explore-eve.net's forums. Or you can download the current version HERE!

Greets Chiara.

Well, it's almost done. A few things need to be verified, and then I need to let a dude I know go over everything, and then it'll be finished and ready to be viewed by happy buyers of it Smile There is still that unknown factor which could mean a delay, but I'm optimistic that I'll release it on friday.

BTW, pick a number between 5 & 10. Then pick a number between 10 & 20, and let me know the numbers.

Ok.. I think everything is finally good enough to be released.. just need to do one more thing, and that's it.

I'll post pictures here of what it looks like right now:

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_01.JPG

- Basic stuff.. you all know this. BTW, is scrap metal processing on tranquility yet? If so, I'll have to add that as well..

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_02.JPG

- Similar to before, added minerals per minute thing to better show the difference between 2 ores.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_03.JPG

- simple stuff, just put in the BPs you own, or have access to. The information here is used elsewhere.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_04.JPG

- Put in owned tech 2 items, and prices for it. Used on the factory sheet.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_05.JPG

- The factory sheet. shows you what the whole thing costs and needs in terms of minerals/t2 items.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_06.JPG

- The hauling sheet. Mostly it's for those who haul minerals from one station to the next.. It's also to simplify keeping stats on where the minerals are.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_07.JPG

- Ore calculator.. Adds together total minerals from the hauling sheet. Also shows you most optimum amount of batches to refine of each ore.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_08.JPG

- refine items. The temp list of handy items is just a placeholder.. isn't really used elsewhere, except in table 2. Table 1 can show you what items to chain for, or buy to get a certain mineral.. the pick an item shows you a list ranging from the highest value, to the lowest value of chosen mineral. Below you can get a peek at the list, but it isn't necessary. Table 2 could help you make good deals refining cheap items on the market. Buying and/or refining items would save on hauling.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_09.JPG

- buy & refine ore. Gives you a quick information on ore and it's value. Should help you in deciding at what price to buy or sell.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_10.JPG

- The mining calculator. Pretty similar, but now you just need to pick from a drop-down menu what BP you want to mine for. Gives you valuable info on time spent mining, or amount of ore to buy.

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_11.JPG

- The research sheet. You can zoom in on specific M.E. levels with the graph min and max values. Check time spent, and money/mins saved from researching more. Copying shows you time spent in copying a bp, and production efficiency shows you time spent, and items needed to be produced to make up for that time. You do need an add-in to make the graph work..

http://eve.pc.is/ultimate_eve_12.JPG

- group mining.. don't think anyone actually uses this.. no changes to it.

-- Now what isn't in the sheet. Perhaps a few T1 items have been forgotten. There are 359 Tech 1 items in there, and 53 tech 2 items. There are no named loot items yet.

I was thinking 10 million isk for those who haven't donated for the other one, and 5 million for those who have made donations.

Those who have interest in this, please e-mail to [email protected] with any 'boos' or 'yays' or anything in between.

Anyone who sends isk from now on, and eve-mails, or e-mails me their e-mail (if u eve-mailed) and password on the sheet they want will get the sheet as soon as it's ready, which is very close now.

Buying guarantees you any updates to the sheet in its current form. If everything goes well, and when I've added 99,9% of all items (normal and named), I'll start statting them and creating somekind of a ship-fitting guide for all occasions. So you're not only buying this sheet, you're encouraging me to continue creating more developed sheets in the future.

Thanks.

Looking good T'el'Alana Luathin.

I'm interested to where you got the data from for all the tech1 items, did you get the bps or refine data?, I myself is only upto 327 Tech1 items, but all from bps.

I looked at your ME sheet, a couple of extra fields I may implement, but in a slightly different manor, but the data in the picture was very wrong, the base 'perfect' values for the apoc were correct, but the wastage shown was extremely wrong.
