Real stupid: Later on that same day, still stinging from the loss and in a fog, got podded in an industrial going to get 100K worth of cargo containers in another 0.4 system. You guessed it, I had replaced the implants 30 min earlier.

Like the OP I also lost my first Machariel while it was meta-fitted. What else... oh yeah, I lost a Nighthawk in highsec when I was boosting a noob friend through a L1 mission by locking him to observe his health, then attempting to fire on the rats. Hmm... must be more than that, I've done some ****ing stupid stuff in my time.

I came across a mining apoc, light drones out to kill rats... Mining in low sec, the character was only 2months old. Time to kill i thought to myself. Just was i was about to engage, my drones to kill his. He began to warp! I followed, jumping system, to system, getting more excited. He found a belt and again settled in to mine. I decloaked, sent drones after his, scram'd him and began to engage... Only to see a warning from CONCORD and a fleet of police ships turn up :S I hadn't been paying attention and had jumped from low sec, low sec, low sec into 0.5 OOOOPPPPS

Finally saved up enough cash to buy my first Thorax, stripped the gear off my Catalyst(!!) and slapped it onto the cruiser, and promptly lost it to a level 1 mission when I was busy braggin in chat about joining the Cruiser ranks, and suddenly realized that I hadn't engaged my armor repper when i was already into structure.... Thought I had managed to warp away at the last second, but lag caught up to me and all that warped away was my pod. Every ISK I had was left behind in the wreckage. I was so I didn't even say a word to the corp, just suddenly appeared in a Vexor a few days later.... This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Was doing missions in a rigged myrm and lost it due to overconfidence twice in a row Anyway that put me in the hole so I had to ***** out the thorax with miner 2's to earn enough for a new myrm. After hours and hours of mining with lots of can flippers bothering me all day long. I finally had enough to outfit a new myrm. So there we had it! A shiny new rigged myrm with reasonable fittings. Undocked and 'lo and behold. There was an afk pod sitting outside the station with a 5m bounty on it. uhh that would be a nice start to earning back some of the lost time. Quick easy little pop for 5m isk. It's only a 0.5 system. I mean how fast can Concord really be? and hey! This guy is obviously not a nice person, so maybe they won't even bother to show up at all! and if they do, I have a decent tank and can just warp away, right? A few seconds later, I had my 5m bounty! Wohoo! and 1-2 seconds after that, I was in my pod... God damnit! Docked my pod and got into my hauler. Man I better salvage my wreck and get as many of the mods as possible before the scavengers show up! Undock, Boom! Concorded again... Needles to say, 15 minutes later, I undocked my thorax once again... ================================================== I should really get a sig.
