/me remembers ratting 0.3 in a catalyst when he was 1 week old... had to call in a RL friend from 5 jumps away cause 3 frigs had me warp scrambled... and I didn't know what webs or drones were --------------------------------------
EVE is a cold, harsh world, filled with people that would kill you without a second thought. The forums are even worse. |

oh man, where to begin...
best moment was trying to gank someone ratting in 0.0 and warping my lachesis to a belt, kept scanning, then noticed i had rats on me. no biggie, just warp out, but errm, nope, i'm warp scrambled. ok, burn away... uh oh, i'm webbed too. by this time the bs's are pounding on me and i'm desperately trying to pop the little ratts....
the funny part was they guy i was hunting saw my pod on his scanner and said "no f'ing way!!" in local. and i had to say "yeah, the rats got me." lol

Edited by: Mifter Hogdido on 26/02/2008 03:45:37 I once was pvp testing with a non-corp member friend with my command ship. He docked to switch fittings, he undocked flashing red. Me having just returned from 0.0 had all warning messages turned off. Right as I opened fire, his aggro timer wore off and well you can figure what happened next.
He didn't even manage to get my loot...
(and of course some jackass dev. said they found nothing wrong on their end... what an ass)

Edited by: Gunzoid on 26/02/2008 04:38:05 I once blew up a true sansha wreck when I ment to activate my tractor beam.
Also when I first joined a PVP corp, I sold my raven thinking I would make isk off of PVPing. I decided to bring it to empire to sell it, getting killed by pirates in lowsec in the process.

Bought up all the skill books for researching...
Found "Astronautic Engineering" for 35mil. Bought it
Checked wallet. Noticed 350mil down and found out retrospectively that the skill does nothing but sit there for no use whatsoever.

Time to become a skillpoint *****. At least I have them all now. Just a couple of months to get them all to IV.

I bought an Iteron III for 600 mil off the market because I was looking at the first three digits and not at how many zeros followed.
And I lost a fully fitted Thanatos in a deadspace complex. >_< |

If you're losing that many ships a day.. You're either doing something wrong or just like wasting isk. Which is it?

I used to buy cheap NPC goods in Rancer and haul them back to Empire for a profit. One time I asked corp for a loan to buy some huge amount of the stuff, and off I set in my shiny new bustard, wcs fitted and all
edit: Also, first thing I trained in Eve was propulsion jamming to stop the NPC rats warping off!

When the encounter system was added (the stuff you find with ship scaner) I decided to fit a cheep brutix to go run some, after arriving in my little home from home in empire in what turned out to be a fully T2 fit brutix, I was about to warp to the gate to lowsec when I noticed some noob asking in local for someone to haul his jetcan for him.
Feeling oddley helpful at that moment and this noob being actually coherent and polite, I asked him how much m3 he had, found I could fit most of it in my BC so I told him I’d haul a load for him…
Warping to his belt I see a rookie ship, and two jetcans, I just assumed both were his, opened one, went to scoop the can and realised that I’d only gotten like 30m3 cos my hold was full of boosters.
Was about to laugh at myself in local… when I see a flashy red deimos uncloak which swiftly proceeds to engage me.
Very nice little fight go’s down over the next minute or two, his damage is pretty horrific, but I’m fitting a duel rep tank and injector and am just about keeping up, it all go’s sour for him as he fails to notice I’m killing all his drones, and once there gone I’m in low armor and he’s in structure… Boom go’s the deimos
The noobie is pooing himself in local at the awesome fight going on 5km from his hull, when the defeated deimos pilot says something like "**** that, pod me please"
I make guns hot, go to lock… and somehow manage to lock the wrong damn pilot, I’m locking the damn noob’s rookie ship, but I’m also franticly typing something ******** in local like "awesome fight, thought I was done there, enjoy the trip" etc, and don’t notice until BOOOM I’ve one volleyed the noob.
Concordoken swiftly follows, and all three of us are left there in our pods laughing our asses off… Except for the noob, who was really ****ed at being blown up until we told him he’d get another one for free as soon as he docked.
Cost of helping a noob with his ore: 200m+ worth of ships, and a slight loss of dignity from all involved.

I was chaining Sansha Overlords for over 4 hours, got around 9K m2 of loot and salvage in a can that I was refreshing every hour. I was equipped with 1 tractor beam - for draging along my CAN among other things. When it was really close to the morning I was so tiered that I decidet it's enough. With my guns I cleaned everything INCLUDING my CAN (it was locked becouse I was draging it along all the time).

After a few too many liquid refreshments one night, I was travelling solo back to my home in a Taranis, with a load of skillbooks.
Jumped through a gate, saw a ship there, locked it, thought, oh easy, it's an Iteron. Scrambled, webbed and started to shoot. Just then I notice that I am locked, slowing down, and losing armor.
WTF I thought, this is crazy. I have another look and realise that the ship I am attacking was in fact a Vagabond.
Taranis popped, pod followed shortly after. I am hoping that the guy had a good chuckle, thinking I had some massive back-up or something behind the gate...I mean who would attack a Vagabond in an Interceptor?

I absolutely detest PVP and think that all griefers should be detained and rehabilitated IRL because they are obviously psychopaths with no feelings for their fellow man.
I still hope that CCP takes responsibility some day and stops encouraging strife and 'evil' behaviour and instead encourage peaceful cooperative play. I'd love to see some real consequences put in place to combat bad behaviour, such as jails and statloss, refusal of resurrection, and the ability for good players to attack criminals without consequence, like we had in Ultma Online. In addition, insurance should be forfeit upon Concord involvement in your ship destruction, or simply no insurance and Empire based clones at all for criminals. All of which is perfectly realistic, in real life insurance won't pay for your car damage either if you ram it into a jewelry store to plunder it, eh? And why exactly should Concord protect those with negative standing?
