Yesterday i was logged in for over 12 hours and had no problems. Today I'm getting bumped every half an hour or so. Is anyone else seeing this? My ISP says they know of no problems and my connection to the internet seems fine. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Have you checked with BT (or your phone provider) too?
They could have problems that haven't filtered through to your ISP yet.

Im getting the exact same problem every 10-15 minutes im greeted by a connection to the server was closed message.
Prior to today my eve was very stable 12+ hrs with no problems.

I am in the same boat - I am losing connection every 30 mins. I do not think this is an isp issue as my router says I have not lost my connection at all and I had a download going in background that did not drop. I also run multiple accounts and most of the time only one or 2 of them lose connection to the server - altho sometimes they all do. On the help channel there are lots of people who were talking about the same problem.
This has only been happening today tho - was ok prior to today..

I've also been getting this problem, Everything seems to be working fine, not a problem with any other net using program, but EVE today just keeps cutting off.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone, but sorry for my fellow sufferers. FWIW this site was apparently down for five minutes as well.
What ISP are you all using? I'm on Nildram.
I still don't think it's my ISP at fault as only Eve gives any indication of problems but perhaps some external router we all have i common is having problems. -- (Battle hardened miner)

I doubt it's an ISP problem. I'm getting the same thing, and so is a friend who I'm talking to over MSN. We're both getting disconnected simultaneously. and we're on different ISPs with different equipment.

I am on Nildram too - but I don't think that is the problem for the same reasons you say (and becuase only some of my accounts drop)

I wouldn't be so sure. I'm also on Nildram although that could just be a fluke coincidence.

I've contacted Nilly support and they are going to pass it to their network support people. Very nice to have an ISP with such good support. Typical that I so rarely need it :)
Oh well, we shall see. I'm off down the pub now.

Same here.. ISP OneTel
The server was reporting 'down' after the last time I was thrown out so maybe they have re-booted it... or paid the electrity bill

The problem seems to be getting worse, before it was roughly Hourly, now its getting as frequent as every 15 minutes, or less.

Edited by: Monkieon on 10/04/2004 19:29:25 Onetel dial-up and its been happening to me for a number of weeks! Combined with the recent lag issues this game is unplayable at times... lately
I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to do something lately; launch drones, fire a missile or jettison some cargo (do anything) and get no response. And I don't get the "An attempt is underway to activate the module" message. Mean time my corp mate is telling me on Team Speak that I have just left the game, to me however, it still appears like I'm in it all be it with nothing working!
I could be wrong about this but my theory is that there is a dodgy node in the cluster and if you are unfortunate to get that one when you login you are doomed to these problems.

Ok an update , it seems to have stopped now , i turned off all the chat channels in game apart from local and corp , and now it has stopped , maybe the problem is to much data going in or out and causing a flood, im not an expert in computer's ect but i hope you know what i mean, anyway give that a try and see if i was just lucky. btw one-tel adsl i use.

Another strange thing which may be connected ?
I have been away for 3 or so hours, come back and go to login and the it says TQ and Chaos are down
A quick check of the eve-i.com server monitor shows this is not the case so I click login anyway and after about 3 mins finally get to the character screen. Has anybody else seen this?

I am with Telewest cable.
I have so far been able to go a month with out a CTD or disconnect..... but tonight (started around 21:30 gmt) every 3 jumps or so, lag then either CTD or disconnect.
Glad I was just nipping about in a Frigate

Running multiple accounts at once seems to suddenly be an issue. If running 2 or 3 accounts at once it for no reason will crash out randomly on at least one of those accounts if not both. This started for me late Thursday the 9th and has continued through today.
Very annoying, and has cost me 12 Ogres so far ..
I am with One.Tel btw, and up til this point apart from the patch induced bugs, Eve has been remarkably stable for me.

An update:It's Sunday morning, 9:25 and I can't log in. The client claims the server is not responding and that i should check my connection.
Obviously the connection is fine. Guess I won't be playing Eve then? -- (Battle hardened miner)

I had a trouble free night from about 6pm until about 9am then it starts again.
Been down twice since then. It seems to be a/some routers in the path to eve that are going down from time to time. They who shout the loudest normally have the least to say. |

Im also with nildram and there are problems atm connecting.
Im reliably informed there is a core router problem somewhere in between us and the eve servers.
so too much traffic and its good bye eve conection which was fun last night hey. Im also getting tq down messages but just hiting connect also works for me
