I find myself very close to agreement. He's in the next episode, according to the preview. It would be pretty cool if he is, as that would mean he'd be on more. And his voice is awesome.

Nah, can't be. They need it to be someone big enough that even the casual viewer will go "OMG! NO WAI!". They arn't gonna make it some guy who a non-addict could well have missed had they been away for an episode or two. It'll be someone who was in it from the start. - Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

I don't agree at all, and I stand by my previous guess of Zach Adama. He was never in it, but has quite a presence. So does the lawyer.
The only thing they can't do, if they have any clue, is make it someone completely new so that there's a scene of, "OMG, you're the fifth Cylon!!!! Who the hell are you anyway?"
Zach can at least provide Apollo or Adama with an anagnorisis on the scale of Euripides, or even one of the talented Athenian playwrites.

Orginally I thought Gaeta was a cool character but after the Trial he just turned into a sniviling little coward and liar in my opinion. Honestly I dont think he would be the 5th, if anything Billy had a better chance of being the 5th (boy that would be an interesting turn around, namely for Dee).
Billy probably would have been one of the final five. I remember reading the only real reason the character was killed off was because the actor at the time wasn't prepared to commit to a long term contract. Tory who is now one of the final five was basically a replacement character for Billy assuming his role.

I've always wondered why no one has ever suspected Dr Cottle (sp?) as the final five. Every one is suspecting one of the 3 Adama(s), Roslyn, most of the main cast, etc, etc.
Here we have the Dr who is an observer. He does not show much hatred to anyone including the cylons. Remember when he was performing surgery on the injured Cavel on New Caprica? When Diana (the 3) asked him whose blood it was and he said it does not matter whose. Life is life to him - he treats both species as precious.
I suspect him the most. |

Season 1 and 2 were great, but the series has gone downhill since then. The writers keep creating new plot elements and then dropping them without explanation.

Ive noticed a rather interesting trend:
Caperica 6 Sharon Tyrol Tigh Anders Leoben
What do these 6 characters have in common? 1. They are Cylons
2. They are involved with a human in a romantic relationship, either recipicated by the human or one sided.
3. Of the 12 cylon models, these are the most human like in personality. Caprica saved baltar in the mini serise and repeatedly kept the other cylons at bay for him on New Caprica. Sharon went against her cylon mission and went with Helo even after becoming pregenant and so on.
Caprica 6 to Baltar Sharon to Helo Tyrol to Cally Tigh to Ellen Anders to Starbuck Leoben to Starbuck
Now when you look at the other cylons:
Doral Simon Cavil D'anna Tory
You will note three things as well.
1. All five have little to no compassion for human life. IE Cavil proposed the nuking of new Caprica, Tory vented Cally after securing Nicky, Simon was into that mass baby boomer facility, and so on.
2. All five models do not have romantic interests in humans, but are not above having sex with a human to get what they need.
3. All five have a cold, calculated personality.
Now, this is where it gets interesting. Of the 11 out of 12 known cylons, 6 models have a relationship or connection to humanity in some way and the other 5 do not. If this is to be believed, and assuming the writers are going for a measure of balance between the cylons then it means that the final cylon will likely be cold, calculated, and likely uncaring of humanity.
I know of only 1 person on the cast that was recently introduced that fits the bill, Lampkin.
1. He doesnt care if his clients win or lose 2. Hes manipulative 3. Hes a lawyer
Thoughts? Should I go to the cookoos nest for this one? |

Very good points, Jacob. But you have one problem: Sharon, i.e. Boomer, isn't a "good" Cylon. She sided with Cavil. You should change it to Athena, to differentiate between the two. Athena is more like the other models than Boomer is, since only Boomer voted with the "bad" Cylons.
I'm leaning more towards the lawyer, but still hold out that Zach or Billy could be 12. |

I should diffreniate, though in defense even Helo refers to Athena as Sharon. I wonder though if this is just a shared name between Athena and Boomer or if the entire model 8 serise is named Sharon. |

I think it comes down to the fact that Athena was originally impersonating Boomer in order to gain Helo's trust. So they're both Sharon's, but Athena has gone out of her way to differentiate herself as the Athena-Sharon, rather than the Boomer-Sharon.
But, yes, the entire line is called Sharon in an unofficial sort of way. The humans have named each version after the first one they encountered who had a name. So there's Cavil, Lehoben, Simon, D'anna, Caprica, Sharon, and the news guy. The Cylons have taken up this mechanism to make it easier to differentiate the models to humans. But only the individual units of each version have a name: there's a Cavil 1, a Caprica 6, a Sharon/Boomer 8, an Athena 8, etc. They seem to use their number when referring to each other in general, unless they're addressing the actual entity in question.

I think the biggest loss of life was when they were escaping new caperica, though they tend to lose some people every few episodes so thats not helpful. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

The twelth cylon is going to be Maddog. He has omgwtfNOWAI factor as well as he could be the specific final Cylon Xena was refering to in the temple. The thirteenth cylon (one for each tribe) is going to be Billy and he will be the king of the Cylons (this I threw in jokingly ofcourse but I wouldent rule out a 13th Cylon). I also believe Tom Zarek could be a Cylon, he has the whole No Wai(!) factor rolling for himself and I personally think a show willing to metagame (Leoben: "Adama is a Cylon" Zarek played Adama in the original series) is awesome.
****SPOILER ALERT***** The earth they find will be a post apocalyptic late 21st-22nd century earth covered in ruins. The final five are considered "Cylons" because they (just like the rest of the earthlings) believe in "the one true god" that the Cylon's believe in (although that doesent explain Anders glowy eye). The final five were sent from earth to warn both the Cylons and the Earthlings of the futility of warfare and peace and happiness rules amongst them all forever more.
You heard it here first folks.

You should have read the thread. The creator/principle writer has said that Baltar is NOT a Cylon.

That had to be the absolutely perfect reaction Sual could have made to that observation.
Im still of the opinion that our lawyer friend is one of the final five, if not a bit crazy for imagining his dead cat (seriously, wtf? why a dead cat?!) -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Lovely. A cylon is now in charge of the only ship in the fleet which has guns. I half expected Saul to confess everything to Adama when he was handed command.

Im surprised no one has brought this up yet:
*spoiler alert*
Tigh got 6 pregnate. It was prevously stated cylons couldnt procreate with other cylons. Does this mean that Tigh isnt really a cylon afterall or are the final five a "diffrent type" of cylon? Is the unborn the final cylon to be revealed? If not does this mean the unborn is a "thirteenth model"?
Also, I wonder if Roselin will not be returning from the cylon base ship. Given that she has cancer and has been portrayed that she wont live to see earth, and with Lee the acting president, I wonder how that will all work out. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

It was stated that the cylons couldn't figure out why they couldn't get pregnant, so they tried an experiment to see if the missing attribute was love (the whole Helo/Sharon thing back on Caprica in season 1). Though it seems to have worked, it seems an odd hypothesis to start with; humans create pregnancies all the time in situations where there is clearly no love felt (e.g. rape). Nor does it seem likely that Saul is really in love with Caprica. I suspect there's something else at work that was preventing cylon pregnancies.
IIRC, there's also a cut scene where D'anna refers to Hera as "Thirteen".
