Whoever the final cylon is they had all been to Earth before. Something tells me those cylons were sent to the colonies from Earth by the cylons there to recreate what brought Earth down in order to step in and intervene, once the cleansing fire had done its work and the warring factions had grown enough and proven themselves worthy of saving, to live side by side.
This as the cylons discovered they needed mankind for new blood as mutations in the flesh as well as thought is a strictly human trait.
Why else would they have been to Earth and who else but the cylons built the new viper that came back? Cylons survived the nuclear war on Earth, the humans didn't.
Starbuck may well be the harbinger of death, death in the way that old ways die and there's a shift in paradigm.
My money's on old man Galactica himself as the final Cylon. I'm sure there will be hidden memories coming back to him, when he did things that played into the hands of the puppetmasters, once exposed to his true self.

Yeah, but there should be a couple webisode storylines and another straight to DVD thing like "Razor." I think the long wait is due to them wanting to end it the same time Caprica starts.

Everytime I watch the final five minutes of episode ten I just cant help but smile. Of course this isent the end but everyone's distraught face as they look upon the nuclear wasteland just makes me grin.
I cannot wait to see the conclusion, and I really hope none of the machines turn out to be the final cylon (Starbuck's Viper specifically.) That would kill the whole season for me.
Edit: God damn. I love how happy everyone is when they jump in, five seconds before they see the ground.
