anyway, as a career pirate, i see nothing wrong with the slim majority of targets using a perfectly valid technique to evade death. i'd rather have a chance at them mucking it up and getting caught than never having a chance in the first place and deal with dozens of noobships cluttering up local.

crying? me? are you kidding? i'm using this technique and couldn't be happier there's finally a REAL counter to gatecamps, rather than logging out my main to log in my alt and scout every bottleneck system.

Yes, they will fix this cheat in the same way as they fixed the lofty trick. The lofty trick was NEVER an exploit, but it still got fixed.

Just in case it was missed, I thought I would post my personal technique on how to do MWD+Stealth+Instawarp trick, henceforth to be referred to in this post as 'Popping the Clutch'.
My hauler alt is flying a Viotar with max navigation skills with agi implants. Standard Nano Fitting on the Viotar.
Now.. as said above, you can pop the clutch on anything, biggest I have ever done it on is a Deimos.. but you can do it on a battleship. I would train those Navigation skills and get implants though if you plan on making a living at bootleggin'.
Okay: This is MY personal techinique. It hasn't failed me yet, but.. don't message me if it fails you. I got a good connection, good skills and a good ship. Plus, my mom hardly ever comes down to the basement.
Okay. You just Jumped into a system. You are Cloaked. You got time. Don't panic.
1) Find your next gate on the overview. Click it. It now will have a reticle around it.
2)Move Your cursor up to the 'Align to' Button on the overview.
3) Without Clicking Your mouse, put your fingers over Your Cloak and MWD hot key. Now press 'Align' to. Soon as You turn, Press the CLOAKING DEVICE hot key, and then the Microwarp Drive. Me, pesonally, I like to be zoomed in so as soon as I break cloak to align, I am spamming my Cloak Device and MWD.
4) Okay, You recloak, and Your MWD will pulse for a cycle, kicking You up to about 750-800MS, more or less with or without good skills and implants in a Blockade Runner. I give myself a 'one one thousand' and then...
5) Decloak, and Click Warp to 0 on the overhead (remember we clicked the next gate on the route). That should be an insta warp.
Ok, how can this be an exploit one has to wonder? Still looks to me this needs quite some practice and leaves quite some room for goofing up.

Personally, I don't think it is an exploit.
It does require some practice. I wouldn't say.. more than an hour, and You can practice it while on the move in High Sec.
You want to train your skills up. I have not tried it with low skills.
For my Blockade Runner I have an align of like, 2.6 seconds.
Thats.. going to be rough to beat. :p
If I was a little more bored, I would load EFT and give you stats on Battleships.
Suffice to say, it can be messed up, but... if You at least do the basics, it should increase your survivability dramatically.

I can see that, but that's how it should be me thinks. There should be ways to avoid things like gatecamps. The risk for the campers are so low that their chance of catching anything juicy should reflect that.

this technique isnt 100% effective as i was caught at a gatecamp last night while trying it. still gives a better chance of survival though

no im sure i did it right. inty uncloaked and bumped me while my bs aligned . never gained enough speed to warp anyway.
seems campers are catching on  still helps if no inty in camp though.

But I had to post on this thread since this trick is completely stupid. There really isn't any effective way to counter to it.
Yeah, u might wanna try to decloak the mwd/cloaker with drones, but have to do so in less than .5 sec ... Ridiculous!
Pirates and low sec got shafted bad enough as it is, this is just too much.
Bah, for each cloaker/mwder that goes though, I'll go kill an innocent in high sec I guess:)
And the fix is so easy! Don' t allow cloak to be activated when mwd is on, fixed!
