Now come on freind! You run to the extreme as many others do forgetting the 1000 other ways to die including in high sec. "Hello Kitty Island EVE" is not what I want...I love everything except this silly suicide ganking nonsense. If you have a fleet, I can see sacrificing ships for a greater goal but there honestly should be semblance to reality which makes the game more enjoyable. Why not have flying hambergers and fries that shoot through straws? A: Because it's silly and takes away the rational element of the game.
Suicide ganking = hambergerz n friez shipz.

I will participate in destroying an 1,500,000,000.00 ISK freighter ship and its cargo just to lose almost nothing because insurance reimburses my suicidal ship.

I think the only really silly part of it is the insurance, what is it, 85mil for a raven, 30mil insurance and pays out 115m? either disable/reduce insurance payour from concorde kills, or base insurance values off of actual mineral costs, not expected.

considering the market for sci-fi space MMO's out there, its no wonder. EVE is the only one worth a damn. Everything else is not up to snuff, or doesnt exist yet, or isnt ready for prime consumer usage. -

Stuff, can I haz?
Suicide ganking is fine, it's the insurance that's horribly broken. Also, don't fly all your stuff around at once or fly in high traffic systems with officer fits and such. Makes you less of a target.

Modules. Rigs. Drones.
Of course, if you think you can fight in an unfitted battleship, be my guest.
Honestly, anyone who wants battleship insurance nerfed has never been in a fleet fight. Wouldn't it just be lovely if, when your ship pops in a matter of seconds, you then get to spend 6-8 hours ratting/mining/whatever it is you do... just to replace it?
Oooh boy, if theres one thing I want from EVE, it's more grinding for ISK and less PVP.

Its very simple, if you are going to transport something of high value, do it in a small fast ship(if possible, one that can cloak).

hahahahahahahaha... I mean no. I'm trying to make a point here. OK by your's and other's rationale, it's ok to have jolly green giant-shaped ships. It's would be perfectly ok to have things happen which WOULD NEVER HAPPEN in any feasible reality including the sci-fi universe of EVE.
Some cowboy/girl mozey's into high sec and shoots a ship...ok I can see that happening; but then him or his buddies get to loot the wreck right under the noses of Concord? Are we supposed to believe that would happen? You punch a cop and then send your uncle to take his wallet?

Suicide Ganking is broken.
Short of a massive overhaul of a number of aspects of the game, there is only one "simple" solution: No insurance pay out when a ship dies while flagged to 0.5+ Concord.
The above will not end suicide ganking, as valuable enough cargo will STILL be worth it, but it will certainly change the math.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

It's ironic how the most devastating losses are in highsec.
Care to guess why?
In lowsec/0.0 you minimize your risk. You'd not fly a five billion isk faction battleship, and if you did, the proper precautions would be taken.
You'd not carry all your wealth in one hauler, it'd be silly.
Turns out, it's just as silly in highsec, which is not perfectly safe. The "safety" of CONCORD actually puts people at more risk, because they fail to recognize the danger, and walk right into it. Funny how being aware of a threat makes you avoid it better than the carebear police...

Actually this is a sort of feasible reality for one reason. RP wise, we pod pilots are immortal, and for the most part we can do anything we want.

What "issue"... suicide ganking has been in the game since 2003...its part of the game design. CCP would be crazy to prohibit such a core idea of Eve.

All of them? including ones outside lawful space? I think you underestimate (from a RP point again) just how powerful and feared we pod pilots are. Even if concord doesn't like you, such as people with -10 sec status, there will be places you can live and people who will willingly take you in just because you are a pod pilot.

Negative. CONCORD does not jail anyone. Also, killing someone elses ship is a pretty minor crime. It's not like you murdered another pilot and somehow destroyed all their clones. Even podding isn't murder when they can simply clone themselves.

They would be even crazier if they let it go to such an extent that it starts eating away at EVE as bad press from disgruntled suicided ex-players start flooding the internets with biased anti-comments and the PCU numbers dwindle.
Far-fetched, yes, but still, not totally outside the realm of possibility. Lets not forget about RL concerns with money and how frugal people are turning out to be when the pocket gets a little bit shallower...
They will never make it impossible. They are against everything like that. Can you imagine a message box with "You cant do that" when trying to attack a player in high sec?
No, I dont believe that will ever happen. They might adjust insurances though, and thats fine.

This is not a real solution - as he also said. It just raises the cost for the ganker. If he saw a tech 1 hauler with 1B loot, he would most likely still go for it.
btw - I really like the fact that CCP is aware of suicide ganking. They endorse it.
