In 1v1 situations, the T2 fit nanoship, on TQ, has to run to anything which can hit at the range - unless it's a curse, or is a very smart pilot fitting in a very specific way.

What I'd like to know from those who are on SISI: What advantages does the Zealot have over the Harbinger within 24km? What advantages do HACs have over their Tier 2 Battlecruiser counterparts in general? If I tank the Zealot, I might as well fly a Harbinger. If I don't, I go pop very very fast because I can't get out fast enough. Am I missing anything?

Nope you pretty much hit the nail on the head pal.
In fact you could insert almost any cruiser, frig or destroyer hull in the place of your zealot and any BC hull in the place of your harbi and the answer will be the same.

Been on the test server and frankly it sux so hard ive been looking for a Eve replacement. I dont want to leave Eve Online as it is NOW but if that changes to something close to what ive seen on the test server im pretty sure ill be gone soon after it goes live..

True but unless the many your talking about are all afk all the 1 nano ship can do is sit on grid at range burning around looking like a total t1t. And tbh on grid at range in a nano zipping around looking like a knob or off grid in a solo fully plated BS bouncing around the system (17 seconds to turn and warp btw in a 6 x 1600 plated Hyperion) making new safe spots is their honestly any real difference?.

I agree that speed tanking does not involve gang mates like RR i would also point out that all but a very few nano can hit at high speeds and also that they are really made to get in close to a large gang of ships and be able to put a tackle on summat while also trying to avoid nuets, webs and ships with fast tracking that can hit them no matter their speed. NBot a easy job by far i can tell ya.
Now a full RR BS surrounded by his buddies can sit at close range and soak up a huge amount of dmg no matter if he is nueted or webbed or scrambled but a if a nano ship is slowed for even a very few seconds ALL the missiles and previously fired and the instant dmg from the gunnery ship firing on hit wil pop him like a balloon before he even realizes it.

I think Bryg might have a point. This would make it less of a nerf, and more of a boost to many of the ships that have been wtfpwned by the nerfbat.

I only have one real question regarding this nerf. What sort of herbal supplement are you dev's partaking of while implementing these changes? Really... you guys are swinging the nerf-bat with all the enthusiasm and coordination of a ADHD crack addict in the whack-a-mole booth at the carnival. The changes to speed are bad enough, but is it my imagination or has explosion velocity on missiles increased as well? Lovely idea mates. Lets give missiles: A) Long Range with damage that doesn't care what range you are at. B) The ability to never miss C) The ability to hit really small ships with tech II ammo
and my favorite
D) No way whatsoever to counteract them with electronics systems. E) No way to mitigate the damage with speed on any platform.
You see... this is really quite similar to the "Unlimited tracking and optimal range" bug SiSi had with turret ships a couple of days ago... OH except that D) didn't really apply to them. So the missiles are now superior to Uber Bugged Turrets.
With these changes in speed to all ships and to the missile formula, why should anyone fly anything that doesn't have MAX number of missile launcher modules and a hefty shield tank? Which Dev was tooling around in his throw away character and saw his missiles falling short of a max skilled Ishtar or Vagabond PVP fit?
I could go into specifics here, but everyone has pretty much hammered all relevant points to death over the last few months and I have no desire to splatter the dead horse any more than it has been.

This is ridiculous. On TQ My inty hits 7k/s w/o implants, on SiSi it only does 4.8k/s. You can't tank an inty! They NEED the SPEED.

CCP please rethink all your proposed changes!!
After reading the dev blogs, and seeing all the changes to the game being made just to reduce Nano ships speed, I am worried even though i am anti-nano.
Memories of Star Wars Galaxies and the NGE changes come to mind. CCP is going to mess with so many parts of the game that it will take years to rebalance, it could ruin the game.
Fix the problem, dont fix what isn't broken. Nano ships are the problem, so just limit the speed of certain ships that are a part of the dilemma, call it a "structural limit speed" . Leave interceptors and frigates alone, they need the speed.
Just don't change an entire slew of modules, mechanics, implants, dynamics just to fix one problem.
CCP may be breaking a whole lot of the game just to solve the Nano-speed issue. I am concerned. -------------------------------------------- Glory to the State and Tibus Heth.

Sure, change can be good but at least for me EVE will most probably become much less fun. I've flown gallente ships with LG Snakes for some months now and have grown to love it dearly. Yes, it's nice that I can escape a blob *if* they are disorganized and inexperienced (most Caldari FW) *and* I don't **** up... (but fairly often I do)
I'm not invincible. Heavy neuts, rapiers and webbing ceptors all can drop me, and many of my fits are much more expensive after insurance than what is needed to kill me...
However, for me flying fast is about the enjoyment of having combat really fast paced and being able to move quickly. Going fast is fun even though my DPS is rather limited compared to ship cost and I cannot really tackle anything solo. ATM nano is not the answer to everything, why redesign the whole combat system supposedly because of it?
Most players and probably many at CCP know that the current nano "problems" would be fixed by just adjusting some key issues, like inlining polycarbs, readjusting gang bonuses (added agility for less speed could be a good one) and nerfing snakes *A little*. After that most of the 'ludicrous' speed would be gone and all would be well.
The proposed changes just seem like too much. Doesn't help that I'm solely Gallente and mostly blasters+drones atm.
Please reconsider, drop this redesign and start from scratch, starting with smaller tweaks.
Like someone said you risk a lot by such a complete redesign. The game might(will) be broken for months or years to come as you're trying to fix the things that you overdid. A series of gradual nerfs with adequate assesment in between would be a *much* wiser choise and would make a lot of players I know happy. (And subscribed)

Also, making all speed mods stack with each other makes for really boring fitting... why not just keep the mass reducing attributes and just nef them (polycarbs) enough? Sure that would allow for faster max speeds but why cannot a speed tanker/ nano GTFOer dedicate all his lows and rigs to his speed fit effectively? Armor tankers and shield tankers can do it. Hell, shield tankers can fit all lows, mids and rigs and still have every module mean something...
Even that would probably keep things going Whee! enough for my enjoyment... |

Ships should have a maximum speed they can fly at before falling apart. The simplest and easiest soloution is to apply a max speed to all ships, and do nothing else.
This huge nerf/patch is a friggin joke!!! Look at real life, vehicles can only reach up to a maximum speed before they self destruct, the same rules of physics need to be applied to this game, plain and simple!!!
This game is based off of real life after all, so lets make it that way.

Fine, ships, cars and airplanes fly apart because of friction on the hulls when they go to fast....theirs nothin in space to create friction its a vacuum.
Oh and heat works like over taxing a engine if you think about it.

I went on SISI again, tears... nothing has changed for the better, we who pvp'd are doom'd... Most people think this game is a mining sim, I worked for years to get people over to play and see the fun, its gone now.
I am trying to have as much fun before the changes are forced upon us but in the back of my mind I know its coming and it just makes me really sad all over again... Hard to get motivated when the end is so near...
Blaster babe cries herself to sleep in the ****pit of the final crow she will ever spend 100's of millions of isk on orbiting a distant POS at 12,000 meters per second...popping my last X-Instinct booster before it becomes useless, some consider this a cry for help... it's true drowning in my own sorrow wasn't how I wanted my Eve career to end...

Having just moved into 0.0 I don't have an opinion on Nanos other then they cost alot. ;) I do have a question or two.
How many Anti-Nano posters have you seen saying "If CCP doesn't nerf Nanos I'm quiting."?
How many Pro-Nano posters have you seen saying "If CCP nerfs Nanos I'm quiting."?
Reading some of the posts (and the dev blogs) on the speed nerf I've learned this:
CCP wants to remove the insane/hyper speed nanos wants AF to be usable rework how missiles work
Many testing players Speed nerf way too much! Missles are the way to go, buy your Raven now
