Actually, wasn't there supposed to be a Haruhi season 2 coming out this year? What happened to that?
Kyoto animation. They are working on finishing up the Clannad afterstory methinks, then they decide on Haruhi series 2 (when it starts getting less slice of life) or Full Metal Panic series 3/4 depending on how you judge Fuffumo.

Kyoto dosen't do Originality, it sees Visual Novels and Novels and adapts them.
I know where they are going with her brother "Mister Silver" and "Mister Gold" is going to make things.... interesting when they decide to do it. Truth be told I'm surprised it was Imagin as opposed to Kyoto that did Spice and Wolf.... Second Raid is only the setup to the rest of the plot, FMP is just getting started up if they plan on doing the whole Novel series so I am told.

Just Finished RahXephon. I really enjoyed it. Its abit of a mind**** like Neon Genesis but not nearly as bad and it ties up the story very well at the ending.
Next up ill check out Last Exile.

I just finished watching Death Note. Wow. Bleeding fantastic.
I don't understand why everyone compares it to Code Geass though. There's a vague resemblance between Lelouche's and Light's personalities, and the protagonists' companions are both addicted to some form of food. That's about it as far as I can tell.

Finished Haruhi, it wasn't as good as I expected from all the hype. I hoped it would have had ended in some different way though, maybe a little more colder ending, bit like ergo proxy perhaps?
Oh well, worth watching anyway aguess.

Basicly the Exile was a colony ship from Earth. Eventualy the first war happened and the 2 nations smashed each other back to the stone age. The Exile sat between the 2 factions in the storm, controlled by the Guild who were descended from those that originaly crewed the ship as opposed to had passage.
End of Last Exile, the 2 factions take the ship from the Guild (which only had technology based on Exile) and took power from them. The series is sci-fi post apocalypse in the end

Champloo proves that style alone isn't enough to carry a series, but will still prove popular. Last Exile is very pretty, but the story basically has the characters making the decisions which lead them into the most 'epic' situations, as opposed to decisions that actually make sense. The end makes up for it if you get that far though.
I finished Princess Tutu the other day and have moved it to 'god tier' in my original post due to ninjas with guitars.
If you want more recommendations, try /a/. Don't ask for recommendations, all you get is boku no pico no bibletoads. Instead just lurk and watch out for animes which, when mentioned, are known only by a few on there, but are universally lauded by those who are familiar with them. It takes time, but that's how I found Tutu and Aria, for instance.

People teleporting in from parallel worlds, losing limbs if they materialise inside a solid object - quite amusing  . Also, a big glowing ring appears in the sky from time to time and nobody seems to notice except the protagonists.

Both series are about a protagonist constructing elaborate plans which appear to fail, but which are later revealed to have accounted for that failure. Both protagonists end up in their respective positions because they are expert strategists who have a supernatural power conveniently accidentally given to them. Both intend to use their power to fix the world in some way. Both have connections (the Royal Family and the Police) which are relevant to their quest. Both have a secret identity. Noein is a good action series. Drags on a little long, and the final revelation about what is going on is a letdown IMO, but a good series. Has one particular fight scene down on the docks which is spectacular.

Anyone else seen this? Finally some proper stories in anime show. (No lies!)
Just FYI, it pretty much lacks all action elements. Refreshing to actually find something nice for a change. First episode might look like its standard high-school boy-meets-girl shit, but just watch it through, and see the follow up on episode 2, to be delightfully suprised.

I'll give this topic a bump, I'm actually looking for some recommendations and there seems to be a lot of anime lovers here. I haven't seen a huge amount of stuff, I did have a flatmate who was pretty obsessed but I thought 90% of the stuff he watched was crappy.
