Hi again everyone,
As originally discussed in this thread, we're making some adjustments to titans in an upcoming release.
After considering and digesting the feedback, we're making some changes to our original plan.
Specifically, we're reverting the changes to SCAN RESOLUTION that were announced in the above-mentioned thread.
We're aware that this is going to reduce the overall efficacy* of the changes, but we feel that the scan resolution reduction had too much of a negative impact on the titan's other options, and we're not happy with any of the other possible changes we'd previously considered.
Please post additional constructive input in this thread!
Thanks, -Greyscale |

Greyscale,
Please consider special-casing XL turrets and implementing a signature radius based solution. If you modify chancetohit (from http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Turret_damage ) by adding a sigrad based falloff function, but restrict the implementation just to XL turrets, it could be done very quickly. In time for the April escalation release, if not earlier. Plus, special-casing XL would mean subcap v subcap gameplay is not affected and nobody would really care if XL turrets were "special" with respect to sigrad effects. I think if you locked yourself, Masterplan, and Soundwave in a room this could be done in a matter of hours. |

This is a mistake. If you're dead-set on removing this, add a role to the titan (like the old one for destroyers) that causes -50% tracking in addition to the current nerf. |

Nerfing the scan resolution is fine, but not a 8-9 fold nerf. Maybe 2-4x maximum. The main problems we were facing was that we weren't going to be able to lock other capitals in decent time (~60 seconds to lock dreads/carriers) with one sebo. And a large amount of time to lock other titans, or control towers. You could keep the scan res nerf in as is, if you increased the sig radius of the ships we were designed to lock. That way it doesn't take titans forever to lock capitals/towers. |

I don't entirely understand what you're suggesting here - the hit chance is already scaled based on a comparison of the signature resolution and the target's signature radius. My math is rusty, please explain further. |

I think he means not only hit chance but also damage dealt, but I'm not 100% sure.

Possibly he means that in the damage formula there should be an additional factor that depends only on the sigradius/sigresolution ratio.
The current formula has this, but it is combined with transversal velocity, and that means that if transversal is null then the sigradius/sigrasolution ratio does not matter.
In fact, this is the reason why you can use alpha effectively. |
