Edited by: Rsorh Nalozigur on 14/11/2008 02:37:50 Edited by: Rsorh Nalozigur on 14/11/2008 02:35:28 So here we are with two elite frigates that aggro any drones used, so it has to be killed by guns/missiles, now since there is so big spawn in Worlds collide that a normal raven pilot cant free up one slot for target painter then how is he gonna kill those frigates. I see few options, 1. bring someone else to kill them 2. fit warp core stabilizers and warp out and fit for them then come kill them then warp out again and fit for tank and come finish it and remember while doing all this that if you did not free up another mid slot for afterburner then you are wasting hours traveling between the acceleration gates. 3. Don't accept worlds collide. Edit: Also you can bring some precision cruise missiles for killing them but i don't' know how effective it could be. so what are your thoughts?

Whatever you do don't do this. Instead - either kill the scramblers last, or kill everything quickly. Draw full room aggro, release drones and orbit the gate while blazing away. If you have good skills this isn't really that hard. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome.

Uhm, you DO know that you're supposed to save those two frigates until after you're killed everything else, right? You only aggro the entire second pocket if you shoot those two frigs (the spies). Otherwise you can take each group independently and you shouldn't have an issue with shielding or warping out. It really helps to read the mission guides.

That is one solution, but somewhat inconvinient, as they do approx as mutch damage as your average NPC battleship to you. At least angel spies do. Might not be issue if you are the average overtanked permatank guy, but can be slight issue if you operate more on hp buffer than on sustained tanking ability like many higher end 'ganktank' CNR setups do. It does not help either that they almost always web you reducing your speed to something like 3 m/s.
Bringing 'someone else' to do the killing can get you killed real fast btw, as they have 'buddy agro' flag (same as delta frigates in enemies abound series) - ie if anything else than the entity they are agressed on (ie gangmate, drone, salvage thief - anything other than you) shoots them that entity will get full stage agro - has to warp out or dies real fast and then you have all the sudden a lot of red boxses on your overview.
As far as viable solutions go - I would suggest trying to still bleed em to death. If you dual account might also be worth to bring either remote rep drones or remote repper on your wingman if your 'main' guy has borderline tank bcos with new missiles it might take a while to take them out. Or get your wingman in Drake or Nighthawk and let him warp in first in what case they will agress him and he can kill them without full stage agro. DO NOT use drones on them unless you can tank the entire stage.

If a mission is too tough for you, then: a. You aren't doing it right b. You shouldn't be doing it
Missions are not supposed to be risk-less, easy, solo'able ISK-machines. They're supposed to KILL ships when their pilot makes mistakes (including accepting a too tough mission). It's pretty nice that this is now the case again for BS missile ships (was removed when rigs were added.... CCC's). Makes the game more challenging. A challenging game is much better than a predictable one.

I have done this mission many times against sansha and angels. I have found that if u set drones on the 2 elite frigs they draw agro but u do not. 5 light drones make short work of a frig then u recall them and then let them loose again. As soon as both frigs are dead by the drones recall them and then relaunch them against the next group and they do not draw agro. U only draw full room agro if you attack the frigs not if ur drones do the work. Every1 who does lvl 4s regularly should have numerous light drones lying about from loot in their hangers which can be used. T2 lights are better but there expensive and still only take 2 or 3 hits to pop . The T1 do the job and are expendable.

Having drones attack the spies is EXACTLY what triggers full stage aggro.

The gate in this room isn't locked so you can power to the gate, you get aggro from the spawn at the gate when you get close, but generally not an issue - just be aware that if you use your AB and you active tank to save some cap to deal with the initial aggro in the next room

This isnt mis information . I am doing WC at the moment and I regularly farm it. I always kill the 2 frigs first using drones and then move onto the 3 BS that agro u on warp in. This does not get full room agro on the sansha/angels version. Maybe it is differnt on against other factions but not in my experience on the sansha one. I have done It litteraly hundreds of times as i always farm it for a week when i get it. U can kill the 2 frigs with drones and only the drones draw agro. Once there dead u can agro each of the other spawns independantly.

When you pull the drones into your bay, the entire pocket then switches aggro to you.
I haven't done your version of WC though. It's odd that it'd be different. |

There's two sides. Perhaps one is talking about the sansha side while the other is talking about the angel side.
About the angel side. I use a shieldtanked ishtar with AB for the angel pocket.. Well i use an ishtar for everything at the moment but thats not really relevant haha. The moment i warp in i make a 180 and jolt up my old AB so i'm a bit faster than the spies (they fly around 450ms). After i've made some distance from the other groups (60km) i pop my drones and destroy the spies. When the drones start shooting the spies the whole room engages the drones. After the spies die (goes fairly quick) i have them return to the bay. The whole room goes all peace and quiet again and i can tag the groups one by one, starting with the one on the right. Just for clarification: the whole room does aggro the pack of drones when they start shooting at the spies (at least when i'm there). The same thing occurs if someone else in the group shoots the spies. They will get angel thugs scramblerfrigs and everything else on them and that hurts.

Using drones to kill the frigs on either the angels side or sansha side only draws agro to the drones. Like u confirmed once they are back in ur dronebay everything is silent allowing you to pick off the seperate groups.

Thanks for replies, first of all i want to give some information.
First this is my setup: --------------------------- Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Power Diagnostic System II Co-Processor II
Ballistic Deflection Field II Ballistic Deflection Field II Heat Dissipation Field II Shield Boost Amplifier II X-Large Shield Booster II Heavy Capacitor Booster II
Cruise Missile Launcher II Cruise Missile Launcher II Cruise Missile Launcher II Cruise Missile Launcher II Cruise Missile Launcher II Cruise Missile Launcher II Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain I Small Tractor Beam I
Core Defence Capacitor safeguard I Core Defence Capacitor safeguard I Core Defence Capacitor safeguard I
Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x5
Now i do almost all kind of Level 4 missions, except few which i never do like EA, and AE bonus room as those are bit hard and faction standing drop is one thing i don't like. I never have to use my Cap boosters except in Worlds Collide that too occasionally 2 or 3 boosters. I have done Worlds Collide for like more than 100 may be 200+ times(yes i farmed it) and all i can say is when i warp in the serpentis room with Angel Spies, i get aggro by 3 BS, 3 BC, 3 Guardian Veterans(Elite frigs) and 2 Angel Spies. And after killing the 3 BS, 3 BC and 3 Elite frigs i used to kill the Angel Spies(always) by missiles as drones get aggro. it used to take 14-15 salvos of missiles but they could be killed, and killing them doesn't gave aggro to me from whole room ever... so after killing them i used to kill other two groups separately and then the overseer if any.
Now the facts are given...
Originally by: ISpam 4. Dont be a dumbass. Simply fit hams or heavys. kill frigs.warp out and refit. continue killing everything else.
would you be kind enough to also point out how many times i have to warp out for refitting the ship as i have to kill the big spawn at acceleration gate first which is like 100kms away by those heavy missiles? and taking into account the speed nerf across board by CCP which has already changed speed of Raven to quite a bit(yes i have full navigational skills) let me know mmkay/..
Originally by: Dracthera It really helps to read the mission guides.
I have it all learned and it could be wrong too, see my earlier comments about killing those two frigs and getting full aggro.

I m not using a uber CNR like everyone is using as i don't have ISK and like a bit of a challenge but changing something so bad that is sucks monkey balls isn't right. Also not everyone has the time to play EVE whenever they want some have busy schedules and they can't play at all time, i get little time and use it for making some ISK to be used for my PVP purpose which i do when i get some extra time as on weekends. And there is nothing dynamic added in these missions its still predictable i was just asking for workarounds because i know for one thing CCP don't and won't correct things and we have to adapt :) |

hmmm. i never killed those frigs with drones, always with missiles would have to check if killing by drones has any effect(may trigger entire room as told by some others) although i was thinking on these lines too..

My experience has been that if you leave the drones on Agressive, they will go and attract the attention of the entire pocket, if you keep them on passive you can selectively kill the 2 frigs. |

Dunno what to tell you then. I run that mission in my Drake, and I don't move at all in either of the pockets. There's no way the spies do as much damage as the BSs. I always leave them to last, and it works very well every time. They barely register any damage against my shields.
Anyway, do it how you want. It's an easy mission, and you should never need to warp out of it for any reason (unless you don't pay attention and screw up some pulls). Maybe you need some higher shield skills. /shrug

I always get the Sansha/Angel version. The spies thingie is has never bugged me in any way. I can shoot on them first without any new aggro and I can let the drones jump them too without any zone aggro. I've done WC quite a few times and never seen any odd zone aggro...only on the last stage with the Angels, because the warpin angle is a bit out of the actual warpin point. That hurts :P

I`ve done the mission on quite few occasions, actually always the Sansha/Angel version - I`ve never got other configuration. As we talk about the pocket No 2, attacking the frigs or deploying drones does not aggro the whole pocket - just a nearest group of 3-4 BSs, something I can handle. The other BSs don`t react until I get close enough OR I start shooting at them. Usually, I take down the spies with the T1 drones, then take care of the BSs and then all the rest...
PS I was using both T1 and T2 light drones but the T2 are rather expensive and can still be destroyed quite easily. T1 are good enough, besides after all these missions against Guristas and mercs I have more drones than needed. |

In serpentis-gurista version in my experience serpentis will pop the drones and then agro whatever else happens to be close to them. If drones are recalled they will just switch agro to whatever else is present. Note however that I dual account - if what you describe is true then those rats act different depending if there is multiple players present in stage or only one.

Well, my strategy in those missions has been to get some distance with ABs and then snipe. Thus, I'm killing the spies (with my drones) as I move away from the otherwise nonaggro rat blobs. It's likely that there just isn't anything near the drone aggroing rats and hence they don't aggro on me. Alternately, it may be that behavior is different for one player than multiple players. I've seen mission descriptions which indicate such differences occasionally exist.
