EVE Online: Quantum Rise 1.0.3 will be deployed this Wednesday, 10th December 2008. Tranquility will be down from 11:00 GMT to 15:40 GMT for this patch deployment.
Quantum Rise 1.0.3 focuses mainly on dramatic improvements in our Need for Speed initiative which will result in substantial improvements for large scale fleet battles, small gang warfare and large populations in trade or mission hubs. This patch enhances the client in many ways allowing for a much smoother game play experience for everyone.
Patch Notes are available; updates to the notes may be added should any further items be cleared through the Quality Assurance process. These updates will be highlighted with green text.

Fantastic patch coming it sounds!
The removing camera shake when warping is brilliant, very annoying that is!
I already noticed between a year ago and today that the stutter you get on warp in is much much less in quantum rise, but to get rid of it completely would be ace! so hope that makes it into one of the future patches. Pilots of Honour Axiom Empire |

Edited by: RedSplat on 08/12/2008 15:18:36 If CCP really want to give us a gift this Christmas free game time or isk would go down a treat
EDIT: WHAT exploits were fixed? Were they really exploits or were they game features that people whined about- i.e. Did CCP try and stealth nerf blinkys using the Orca as a base in Empire? There was even talk of French toast
But there was none to be had |

Sorry guys, not impressed. I feel like the little boy who asked for a truck and got a doll. Most players won't notice your gift because they are building and mining. They will of course notice the extra down time. Give us something we need Santa.

I would rather ask whether you will mention the exploits after the patch, we have not heard anything about fixed exploits for a while.
PS. And yes I would also like to have a snowball launcher and more snowballs ;)

This sounds very nice. Like texture blend and speeding. one question. How are we to ask for a performance inprovement. and with these small gangs. what amount of players is needed to get this boost? also. does this boost the entire system or the entire game? plz respond
have a merry christmas! *legwarmer comes down chimney and steals candy from stockings*

Wow, this patch sounds like it will reduce the biggest problem in EvE...lag. Kazzoo, have you ever been tried to hold 0.0 space? It is controlled via fleet/pos warfare, which is laggy atm. Being negative about something that you apparently know nothing about is silly. This patch is exactly what we need. Thanks CCP!

This patch is quite awesome, it gives me about +70fps or so.
Just a questions:
Is it possible to implement a Jambar if you got jammed by jammingdrones?

I think you fail to realize the awesomeness that used to be snowballs :) That being said, thank you for the ability to turn off the shaky camera effect. Much <3

I'm sorry, it appears only positive feedback is appreciated. This patch doesn't help me enjoy the game more. Adding more research slots and reducing the need for players to hangout in hubs would. Considering the outstanding effort CCP has put into its new advertising campaign, a gift for the newer players would have been nice.

Edited by: Razin on 08/12/2008 17:07:13 I tried the changes on SISI and the FPS improvements are awesome before even applying the new graphics options! This patch is like an early Christmas present!
The drone/turret model disabling relationship is slightly confusing. The patch notes say "When drone models are set to disabled then the turrets are automatically also set to disabled." Does this mean that the turret models are never rendered (even when firing) if the drone model rendering is disabled in the graphic options?
P.S. Took around 20 clicks to post this. ...

Ok let me get this straight, your customers ask for a goodie for christmas (like the snowballs a bit back) and you give them .... a patch that u needed to throw in anyway cause the server and client cannot keep up with the current fleet fights?
no offence, nice stuff in the patch, but don¦t try to sell us a (bug) fixing patch as a super nice extra goodie ... it¦s a patch that u needed to do anyway, so where is the "extra"?
