Can someone please tell me how one physically goes about signing up for this event? Do you need to visit an Agent, or what?
Thanks.

Edited by: Kailynn Absenthe on 25/07/2004 11:48:56 ... its under EVE Insider, Caldari Race.
And seriously, quit whinning, for those that are.
As was said before, its the Caldari race. Based on the Caldari People. Their governement is Corporate driven, it makes absolute sense. And for the person who went as far to say anyone who runs agent missions are "garbage men"... that statement is absolutely inacurite.
Did you whine this much when the Amarr race was only available to TRUE AMARR? Hey at least this race you might be able to participate. There is NO going back if you hadn't picked Amarr, True Blood.
Good Luck to those in the race! See you at the starting line =) Kailynn Absenthe Dream Eternal Inc. |

i'm glad to see an event that is more for individuals instead of a megacorp slugfest. But if the routes are announced more then 5 or 10 minutes in advance i wouldnt race. Then it would just be about who could get more friends to camp gates. I'm sure enough people will rush to gates to pick off racers even if the route isnt known in advance.

I'm guessing the routes will remain secret right up until time of race.
I would not be surprised if they come up with some sort or program that will auto post the whole auto pilot route for the race right to each racers UI.
That way routes are the same, check point are the same, an no one knows before hand.
And with the length of the races that they are implying, on can message his/her corp mates and they can tell them routes and locations after the race starts.
There will be corporate blockades here and there, it's inevitable.
As far as one can tell the only rules that will apply are the rules for engagement per the security level of the system your in.
IE........00, anything goes. webies, rockets, mines, missles, energy succors, vampires, neutralizers......you name it.
0.1 to 0.4 .....you can be criminally flagged for criminal actions, thus delaying your travel waiting for your time to expire if you've done anything......if the centries at the next get didn't alread expire you. for most part just race unless it's the home stretch, then it might be worth the flag to kill your closest opponent if it's in the finish line system
0.5 and up.......just race

There is a really simple way to route the race without ever giving the route away, although it may be manpower intensive, but for an event this big, it shouldn't be a problem. Just have an ISD character sitting some where in each system of the route. Then as soon as they see the first racer in local, just start spamming the name of the next system on the route until the last racer is through. No possible way to camp anything. Although they may want camping in the first place, in which case nevermind.

Yeah, I've only been running caldari agent missions since castor was released, and busted my butt for my 8.0 with lai-dai and 7.0 with Caldari State. you're right, why should I get preference over someone who didn't do that much work?

they give a month notice, thats plenty of time even if your not a runner to get some standing.
i'm very glad they are having an event we agent runners have a head start in.

It's a shame agents don't store the average time taken to complete courier missions - this would be a good way to choose the "fastest" people.
Other than that, standings is the best way to choose participants - you might want to take part in the race but what makes you think a particular corp would want YOU?

16th, lol, signups are extended till the 23rd because the race is so undersubscribed. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

The minium required to hold this is 144, which has been passed by far.
The reason it was postponed for a week is to fit it in with the people who are organising its schedules - it would of been no good going ahead with it if it couldn't physically be executed now ;o)
We've started displaying the number of signups for you so that people in oversubscribed corporations can switch if need be.
