I used to, but I go through pvp ships like water, so now I just name them <hull class> fit #<fit number in EFT>, so I know what ships have what fitting since I got tons of them now.

Saw a battleship the other day named; "Don't Repackage". Apparently someone learned a valuable lesson.

I have a note in Eve for naming conventions for ships. So when I buy and outfit one, I can usually open that note and grab a name from off it, if I am not inspired already.

Naming a ship the Hood is just asking for it... after all, remember the Hood :)

Edited by: m3talc0re X on 02/01/2009 03:58:52 I tend to have a set naming convention to all my ships. Caldari battleships get like shark names, except for my Rokh, which is the U.S.S. Ruination btw :P My Raven is the U.S.S. Hammerhead, CNR is U.S.S. Tigershark. My Harpy is Spider Bite, I can't remember the others off the top of my head :/
Oh, my Domi is Spud Launcher :P -------------------------- Wait, what now? Yes, I was Anubis Assassin, this will be my new main XD |

Yes, but the name depends on what the ship is used for and what it may look like. For example: if I'm flying a Thorax used for ganking and piracy situations, it's pretty clear what to name it based on what it looks like and it's purpose. ______________ Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. All my ships' names are sentence fragments from any random song I happen to have in my head at the time.

I always change the name of my ships, whether or not I give them a name like "Santa" (now destroyed hurricane) or "Hurricane 019" depends on if I feel the ship deserves a name. Typically permanent ships have a name while expendable ones have ship type and incarnation number next to it. Sometimes I don't even bother with that and will just delete my name before ship type.

I name all of them. I used to use something like AAC-1779 Blindhammer (Or something to that effect, I don't think this would fit) for "Amarrian Assault Cruiser" [Number] [Name]. Now I just slap a name on there and call it good. *** Awake in a Space-Dye Vest Struggling with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence Falling Into Infinity toward a New Millennium While trapped inside this Octavarium. |
