If that's the figure you're measuring your success against then you ought to give up now. I'm getting into trade because it's more interesting than mining and might even be fun. As for ISK:With my BS I can mine 1.3mil of Scordite or Pyro an hour including hauling time. I only play for a couple of hours most days but that means in a week I earn upwards of 20mil.
I have yet to see much evidence that trade is anything other than a second rate source of isk. I'm still getting into it but only for the entertainment value. -- (Battle hardened miner)

If you feel the market is overheating then I guess you could increase the tax rate a bit (uuurgh) - after all traders all have to sell at some time
If there is this great problem of defaulted orders, why havent the forums been screaming about it?

It's better than Escrow but I don't agree that it's very good. There's too much clicking backward and forward when trying to find something worth trading. I think there should be a single screen that shows supply/demand for everything in a table. Get rid of large icons so we can see a lot at once.
The only problem then is how you deal with silly prices so they don't ruin the table. They don't need to be regulated out of existance but if there's a way of filtering them (perhaps restrict average calculation to a given %ge range) they would die anyway.
Right now unless you know what you are looking for it is too damn' tedious to click and back and forward between the item selection, supply, demand windows. -- (Battle hardened miner)

I see no problem with having this restriction. If you don't have the funds to buy 100,000,000 tritanium why should you be allowed to place a buy order for that amount?
This just means you must have the cash available to do so. Big deal.

That's just it, you don't see and you haven't read the thread.
Sure I have the money to foot that bill but then I can put up no other secondary speculative buy orders but are confined to that one order I then will have sit and watch getting filled little by little, risking terminal boredom.
This change improve nothing in terms of gameplay and means the market will become boring, ****can this change please.

If you don't want to wait for a huge buy order to be filled, place smaller concurrent ones?

If I could renew them from afar and otherwise manage them perhaps but going around every place I conduct business and enter tiny buy orders every other day would be more of a chore than any fun and games.

Danton,
Quote: Market Improvements The market will be extended such that it will now be accessible anywhere, but not only while docked at stations. Specifically, the following functionality will now be available under all circumstances:
In a given region you can remote sell any item from your asset list located in stations in the same region. Skill based range restrictions will apply. In a given region you can issue remote bids on any station within the region. Skill based range restrictions will apply. In a given region you can modify any open order that you have in same region. Skill based range restrictions will apply. In a given region you can get detailed quotes and browse the whole order stack for a given type. Quotes and order information will be slightly time delayed.
Seems like this may help. Pity it's skill-based though.......

So we have tiny orders done from afar. But where will the profit come from when we got limited numbers of orders? There is a lot of miners supporting each trader so the traders need to spread the orders around where the miners are.
Picture an outlying system with very few resident miners. Who is going to tie down his precious buy orders in a system where orders are filled slowly? A trader servicing a lot of outlying systems might , but he can't with the new rules.
And by the way , I payed for this PC with a credit card , I take my education with the help of a student loan , my father took up a loan to start his buisness. Capitalism is all about doing stuff with money you will earn later. Else we would all be living in farms trading cows and chicken eggs.
