EveRefinery is a Windows program that displays market prices and refined prices for the items in your inventory. Thus, you can quickly decide whether to sell or refine each piece of your loot. Website Screenshot
Current features:
- Refined prices are based on PERFECT REFINING
- Select prices for any region
- Select any of the price types, such as Buy-Max (the maximum price people are paying to buy an item) or Sell-Median (mean price people request for an item)
- Show all refinable items in one list
- Limit the list to the assets of a specific character
- Limit the list to the assets at a specific station
- Items inside containers are included
- Each line is colored from green (refine it) to red (sell it)
Quick start guide: 1) Go to the website and download EveRefineryUpdater 2) Run it, and it will download the latest EveRefinery to the same folder 3) Run EveRefinery 4) Go to settings (select icon on the toolbar) 5) On page 1, set desired mineral prices 6) On page 2, add your game accounts (without that, assets feature won't work). There're instructions on adding accounts in a window opened by pressing Add button. 7) Click Load Characters 8) Go back to main window, select prices region and type you want, then (optional) select a character and a station. 9) Enjoy.
Planned features: 1) In-Game browser integration

From the features listed, it's looks like it's going to be a handy tool to many ;)

Did you let the updater finish downloading everything? It would look like System.Data.Sqlite.dll is absent in your case.

I'd like to remind a few things. First, you can use the program without any api keys at all, but that prevents you from accessing your assets. Second, accessing assets needs full api key and that's it. Third, api keys caannot be used to hack into your account in any way.

Would help to have:
- Totals in columns to aid decide if -for example- Trit obtained from refining will be the amount needed. Same applies to earnings after selling. - an exception list to leave out personal items like ships, weapons, a goodies container, certain systems, etc. - automatic recognition of regions to which a station, where goodies are, belongs to.
Looks very promising and if you really have a chance to integrate it to EVE ingame browser, you have a winner!
Congrats!

Cool app, thumbs up!
I planned to have a look into EMMA but I disliked the need of MS SQL Server. But this tool seems to make that venture obsolete
Just one suggestion so far: I like to gather that stuff I want to sell in a container. Next to other containers which contain stuff I want to keep. Would be really helpful if one could even select a specific container in a station.
Cheers!

Edited by: Jedra Okin on 17/03/2010 22:15:37 This is very nice, thank you. I've been using eve asset manager to try to get an idea of base price vs. market price but found that it didn't clearly indicate what to sell like this does.
I was thinking about making my own app but yours does almost everything I want and no doubt you'll improve it. I have a few suggestions of things I would find useful:
- Display delta as a % in addition to a number, just as a nice to have option
- Allow options to use an absolute ISK value in addition to or instead of the % of sell price. Some items have a large enough percentage for the UI to indicate that it should be sold but the actual ISK amount is so low as to not be worth it. I would like to see items where there is a 20% profit and at least 50,000 ISK, as an example. This would have to take the quantity of the item into consideration somehow as well. Perhaps showing the data for both the single item and the stack of items
- Add filtering on delta by % and a specific ISK amount, or by items that only match the color-coding. Allow filtering by 'total profit' as well as 'per item profit'. For example when I sort by delta I can see all the items I can make more than 50k by selling but I can't then sort by name to make it easy to find in my inventory to move to a 'to sell' container. Being able to filter them out and then sort by name would be useful. Additionally (see previous suggestion) I would want to be able to filter on 'total delta' as well. For one item of a 50k profit I really would rather just reprocess it than go through the hassle. If I were to filter 'where delta < -50,000' that would exclude an item that only had a 40k profit. Thats great for 1, but if I had 1000 of those I would obviously want to sell them.
This is definitely the best thing so far to get me started. With a few tweaks on sorting and filtering it could be the perfect tool to pick your character, pick your station, and hit the 'tell me what to sell' button. Ultimately (after I input my criteria on what I consider to be worth my trouble) if I could just see the items that matched I could move them to a container and reprocess everything else saving a ton of time.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this and share it with the eve community. I hope you continue working on it as there is definitely a lot of value potential here.

Tool looks awesome, but I can't say anything more because the updater (and presumably the program itself) does not have proxy authentication support. I'll give it a try when I get home.
One thing of note, does the API allow you to see what is in containers in a station? I refuse to keep my entire inventory in a mess in the station, opting instead to use station warehouses to sort my items. If I could open my "Trash" container to see what the items inside that refine to, that would be pretty nifty.

The API has container ID (eve asset manager lets you filter by that) but as far as I can tell it isn't an option in this tool yet. This does let you sort by station. The container would be nice as well. I forgot about that. Once I move something from my 'unsorted' container to my 'to sell' or 'to refine' container I would like to get it off the screen of things I still need to sort.

The only way the program can see your assets is with the full API. Why don't you go to the EVE api page and do some reading. Let me quote for you:
Quote:
Is this safe? Can someone steal my account?
It is safe to provide your user ID and API key to applications and web sites as long as you are prepared to allow the application or web site to see your character and corporation information.
Sharing your API key, full or limited, does NOT give people access to your account. Sharing your account password would. The API key only allows the recipient to view your character and corporation data but gives them NO control over it. They are NOT able to log in to the game or post on the forums with the API information. The API key is in no way generated from your account password - there is no way to calculate your password using this information.
This is the only safe way to give programs and web sites access to your data. Do not give out your account username or password to any person, program, or web site. Please keep in mind that doing so is a violation of the EULA and can lead to account termination.

Edited by: Mostlikely on 18/03/2010 09:14:45 Very nice work. I'd be very interested in (if possible) separate totals columns, a quantity column and a type column. The main thing I'm missing is 'quantity' of items being accounted for. For example 10mil units of veldspar might be more interesting than 10 units of veldspar but in the current 'per unit' setup they are in all ways equal.
-Totals columns: 11 new columns (3 price, 8 mineral, optional, default off), similar to the current 'pew unit' columns only multiplied by the quantity of the item type for the selected character-station. (When all-items is selected instead of the character you'd default the quantity to 1). -Quantity column: 1 new column (optional, default off), showing the quantity of the item in the selected character-station. -Type (number) column: 1 new column (optional, default on?), showing the type (number) used for the 'sort by type' button. The two sort by buttons can then be removed as you can sort anything you want using the column titles.

Totals will be implemented as a row. I suppose that's what you really want.

Quantity is already calculated in the program's internals, i just need to output it. Will be there soon.

Rather, i will add a checkbox to multiply results by quantity, or even do that by default for any specific assets.

Yes, will be there.

Type sorting is not number sorting. Type is a 3-group string containing its gropu (eg Ammo), subgroup (eg Hybrid) and item name. I will consider adding that column. Thought about it before, but it contains a little too long strings.
Originally by: Mostlikely
Also.. is there any reason your displaying prices as 0 digit numbers? Especially for high-quantity-low-price items the difference between 3,51 isk and 4,49 isk on a per-unit basis can be significant.
No not really. I think i'll add 2 digits to everything to keep it simple.

Great to hear the quantities are coming.. I can't wait. ^^
Originally by: Codeguard Totals will be implemented as a row. I suppose that's what you really want.
I was aiming more at the 'total per item' (ie. price x quantity = total) columns thing. The row is a good idea too ofc.
Originally by: Codeguard Rather, i will add a checkbox to multiply results by quantity, or even do that by default for any specific assets.
A check-box would indeed be fine. The new column approach gives a little more flexibility as you can see information side by side (ie. price per unit | total price) instead of having to flick back and forth but it also adds some clutter (double information). So either is fine.
Originally by: Codeguard Type sorting is not number sorting. Type is a 3-group string containing its gropu (eg Ammo), subgroup (eg Hybrid) and item name. I will consider adding that column. Thought about it before, but it contains a little too long strings.
I didn't stop to think it might be a combination of multiple strings. It's best default disabled ofc. Length is no problem as the user can resize the column the column to suit their needs.
New idea: Is it perhaps an idea to replace the 'Sell Price' column (and related Delta column) with a Price 1 and Price 2 columns (And related Delta 1, Delta 2) where 2's are optional and default off. That way you can configure it to show for example sell min and buy max prices at once or sell min and sell max without having to flick back and forth to see both.
Also, I noticed there's a blank white space at the start of the 'item name' column (most noticeably if you drag the 'sell price' column in front of the 'item name' column). Are you assuming the 'item name' column is always the left most column or was this done for another reason?

this tool looks very nice and extremely helpful, since i have hangars with a crapload of loot and dont know what to do with it. I possibly have wasted millions of isk by scapping instead of selling
however, maybe im too stupid, but i have difficulties to understand the color coding does green mean "sell is better" or "refine is better"? I guess it means "refine is better", but then it wants me to refine all my malkuth launchers and some other ML stuff.
Also I thought refined cost is the price i get from the mins when i scrap the item and sell price is the current market price i am comparing against. But if i switch the metric from let's say sellmin to sellmedian, both numbers change. I dont get this. Shouldn't the mineral sell price stay constant?
Please help! |

Green = safe to refine. Red = must be sold. If in doubt, check refine price and sell price. Maybe you selected wrong price type. If you think you have an issue there, feel free to send me a screenshot to e-mail found in "About" section of the program.

The refined price should stay stable. If it doesn't, that's a bug, however i have no idea what happened. I believe you mistakenly look at "sell price" + "delta" columns. Sure enough, both will change on price type change.

Because there's no code to load skills, and not even going to be, really. I didn't even want to implement non-perfect skills, those not having them don't deserve refining at all :) |

Hmm, just to make sure I'm reading this correctly...
But at the moment, it seems nearly everything is worth selling over refining, minus a select few (25 items out of hundreds)
Also, refining hardly gets more then selling it seems, always figured it was better.
Is this the norm? |

This is not necessarily a bug. Here's how refining can beat selling: Please note, if you use price type such as BuyMax and good refining skills, it will be more profitable to refine. Here's why. BuyMax is what ppl are paying for an item. Most of them buy item to make profit from refining. Can you see the point?
Here's how selling can beat refining: Same logic here, but you need bad refining skills and price type like SellMax or SellMedian.
In my copy down there, i have things allright. If you think you have an issue there, feel free to send me a screenshot. |

Num -> Qty change accepted, will be out next update. As for meta level, it will require the growth of the main database, as the current one misses that information. On the other hand, it sounds reasonable. I'll see what can be done here. For now, i'll add that request at low priority. |

Total cost can be found in the "Sell Price" column. If there're unknown prices, you will see someting like "Unknown (known part is XXX.XXX.XXX)" in that cell. To read the text (as it won't fit the cell i guess) you can point it with your mouse and wait for a tooltip. |

What about a rule that overrides the refine/sell recommendation if the delta isn't a certain minimum or maximum. I have sell lines right now for an item with a refine of 100 isk and sell of 500...why bother? I also have refine lines for items with a slim margin but with the 20 in my hangar it adds up to 500k isk loss if I refine it.
Also the terms for setting up the red/green bar could be clearer if they said:
Recommend selling when sell price is x% greater than refining value.
Recommend refining when value of minerals is greater than x% of sell price.
Recommend selling if delta is greater than: XXXXXX isk.
Cool program though, bout time someone created it!

Something I noticed last night while I was using your program... I set your program to put all my items in alphabetical order and I did the same thing on EVE. When EVE does that it lists all the items that start with an ' first. Such as 'Malkuth' or 'Hypno' etc. Your program throws those items with the M's or H's etc.
I don't how easy it would be to change that to make it match EVE, but it would be nice when I'm going through my items that both programs match.

This. Please add containers to the list. Being able to select by station is great but having to sort through a list of stuff and decide if it's in my ship fitting container, mission fitting container, sell container or hold container is a real pain. I usually don't process through my mission stuff until I have over 10K m3 and using this tool would be fantasic only if I could direct it to look at the container that I wanted to work with.
Overall, Awsome app which I will be using on a regular basis. Thanks for the hard work, blood, sweat and tears.

You aren't really going to refine high meta levels as they always have high market prices compared to refine prices. If you're up to browse assets, there're different applications for that, for example Eve Asset manager. However, this feature is still listed in plans.

Making it open source would certainly help alleviate some people's fears that the program does bad things with their API key.

Very nice program. Possible to add m3/unit and (m3 * quantity) columns. I make some decisions based on how much difficulty I will have moving product to other regions. Currently I simply move stuff into an Itty V until the ship is full, but I'd really like more control than that and I'm tired of doing it manually.

About removing items from the list: don't think so. It would be a complicated system and not really needed. Do you really swipe loot more then once a day?
Searching will possibly be implemented soon.
All price types will stay there. Just don't use them if you don't know how to. A few of those you named are actually useful.
Container names can't be retrieved... CCP limitation :(

The tool is great, very ergonomic functionality and nice presentation, thumbs up!
I just want to suggest, if it's not too hard to implement, to give the option of getting prices from eve metrics, because they have an upload tool that is easier to use, so sometimes their prices are more up to date. Even better would be to pull data from both sites and use the most recent for each item, but this would need more coding for sure.
Also a question, how is the average price calculated? is it weighted by number of items at each price?
Thanks for sharing this with us!

Yeah, another argument in favor of the meta-level filter. It lets you check prices yourself for things which are likely to have high sell prices (but eve central data may be wrong).

First, this is a great program. I've been using a spreadsheet to manually enter data, but this is by far much easier to get the total of all my ores from different stations.
I would like to be able to select multiple lines and be able to either get a total for each column of only those rows I selected somewhere. You could update the [Totals] row or put it down in the status bar.
It would also be useful to be able to copy selected lines to the clipboard and allow me to paste them into a spreadsheet.
Any chance the source code would be available? --------------------------------------------------

Ok, the issue is confirmed. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the bug of EveRefinery and rather the bug in CCP's database dump. Yet again it looks like we can't do anything but say "oh well it's CCP". I'll try to cope with it somehow.

Loving the program. I had a load of loot building up and with this I flew through sorting it. One little thing that would make it even better would be the ability to remove or hide items from display. I know that you can only update once a day but with this you could hide stuff that you had already sold/refined or even just sorted. Hope you can add this and thanks for this great tool

Um, silly question, maybe, but is this a CCP approved app? (TOS, 14: "You may not post or distribute emulators, software tools or utilities related to EVE Online without the express written permission of CCP.") And I wouldn't want to download a keylogger or some such. ;)
It looks like a fantastic program, though, to be honest. My indy alt would be very happy to use it! It's just the tool I've wanted to see developed for ages! So, I hope CCP can give some official comment on this. -- Gorgeous, delicious, deculture! |

That's the percentage of money you lose if you refine over selling. If it's negative, then you get more money refining then selling.

Just for the sake of saying it before someone else does, I assume, items that have no refinery value ( i.e. Navy Tags ) will not show up on overview. Also if it appears you are missing items be sure to select 'stack all' from your current location so duplicate items don't show up twice on your hangar floor and only once in the program ( as I was about to request more information on until I realized I hadn't done that yet -.- ) Overall s****y program :D --Neroo Tal Order of the Golden Dawn CEO : Founder |

Not until there's an API for that, which i bet will never happen. Otherwise that would be bannable.
Originally by: Neroo Tal So what does the yellow stand for?
It's between red and green. Yellow typically stand for items that could be sold and refined for quite the same money.
Originally by: Koal possible bug - when I list items in one station in which I have a Raven and a Golem, it seems to list the items on those ships including the Raven itself, but not the Golem. Not sure why the Golem doesn't show up.

Hey
Great App, was thinking of writing a similar one myself. But you beat me too it.
Note: Currently dont use the ability to specify full key. I dont care if someone could see my crap, but will not be responsible for giving away corp intel.
I just use the main page to quickly determine a "base price" of an item. What I would love to see added is the ability to filter this screen by various methods:
- meta level - partial name (sort of a search) - category (ammo, ships, etc, whatever level of detail is provided in data exports) - resource amounts (eg trit > 50000 and Nocxium > 1000) or just (Isogen > 0 to see items with Isogen) - and perhaps other columns like loss %
Hmm actually upon further thought might just add a few columns, (meta level, tech level, category) and then allow them to filter each column?
Anyways enough quick pondering, Nice app!!! Hope you keep enhancing it.

Hi,
first of all, I really appreciate the effort you put into creating this astonishing tool. Thank you very much for all the hard work.
However, I'd like to ask for your advice: Most of my stuff qualifies as green (refine over sell), even though the loss % is 50% or higher (up to > 90% in rare cases) for the vast majority of items. I chose The Forge prices and Sell Median as settings, and I left the color coding at default values (red if <= 50% of sell price, green if >= 100% of sell price). Refinery Efficiency is at 100%, tax at 0%. At the same time, there are other items with a loss percentage of 50% or lower that show a blood red background. This seems to be a contradiction (some items being green while others being red at the same Loss % or even lower Loss % than other items with green background). Could you please point out how to correctly interpret your color coding in combination with Loss % and Delta?

This is most likely due to small ISK losses. There's a cutoff value seen in options. If you lose only 1 isk per batch, who cares if it's 1% loss or 99% loss?
Originally by: Hanneshannes I do have a question about a thing I never worried about before though:
[The question is about "Station refining equipment" slider in options]
Different stations have different equipment. Even in empire, you will see stations having no refinery, having smth around 37.5% base yield and 50% base yield. This is especially important if you're using an outpost.

Thank you, this seems to be the case.
A feature I would like to request: Could you please enhance the tool so that it would become possible to compare two different price settings (with only one of them influencing colour coding, Delta, Loss% etc. of course)? For example, if I wanted to sell or refine my collection of 125mm Railgun I's, the "BuyMax"-setting would clearly tell me to refine, wheras the "SellMedian"-setting would keep me from doing so. The reason (in this particular example) is the great difference between the median sell price and the maximum ISK sum that players are usually bidding when entering buy orders. It would be helpful if I could compare those two settings (or any other two settings, for that matter) while still seeing my refinery cost, just to keep me from refining the rather valuable stuff because I had the wrong setting selected at the time.

I don't quite get it. If you decide based on one of the price types, why would you need the second? If you decide based on second, just switch to it?

[154]
For example: Suppose I want to know if I should refine or sell my 'Malkuth' Rocket Launcher I modules. I decide to use BuyMax as the base of my calculations and EveRefinery tells me to refine the modules (the Delta is 11 802.45 ISK). However, when using SellMedian, the Delta changes to -153 674.85 ISK. So in this case, using BuyMax would cost me more than 140 000 ISK of profit. Had I had the opportunity to compare the two settings, I could have avoided the loss (granted, it would also be possible to simply switch between the two, but doing so for every item of interest would pretty soon become tedious, thus the request of adding some kind of comparison feature).
Basically, it would be a convenient addon to an already great program.

Edited by: Codeguard on 21/05/2010 11:40:21 Even if this is to be implemented, it would be done at a low priority, as i don't feel this is in demand. So far, you could consider two-passing all items.
I should also note that the root of your problems should be using incorrect price type, ie BuyMax, while you actually want SellMedian.

I've been looking for an app to help me divide loot when running missions with a buddy. I normally figure sell & refine prices of loot and salvage, give my buddy cash, then sell the loot at my leisure.
This app is useful in that regard, but it would be so much better if I could check all the stuff that I would refine and get a total then all the stuff that is to be sold to get a total as well as salvage and other non-refinable items.

Green = safe to refine at refining % set in options. As for almost everything in green... There's a threshold that colors small cheap stacks green, even if they're slightly more profitable to sell. If that is not the case, you could send a screenshot to my e-mail and i'll help you figure.

Like I suspected, there was no mistake. The issue was about too small stacks, where profits of selling were only around 5.000isk, hence below threshold on Appearance page of options.

This little program is fantastic!
I never knew how to sort out the hundreds of ship parts laying around in station containers for ones of value without spending days at it.
In just a matter of minutes your program reduces my station containers to meaningful lists of items to sell off.
Thanks for making this great tool.

Seems useful, too bad it won't run on Linux-based (or other) operating systems.
Does anyone here know a replacement that is more portable ? If not, I can make my own, I just don't want to recreate the wheel (and waste some time). But yeah, you are obviously interested in my post because you're now reading my signature.

I'll fix spelling when i'm out of laziness. I don't think there's a need to hide Non-market items since that will make things a bit obscure. As for linux... I think Eve won't run on linux either? If you run it via some emulator, it should allow .net as well.

Originally by: Milhibethjida For example: Suppose I want to know if I should refine or sell my 'Malkuth' Rocket Launcher I modules.
Basically, it would be a convenient addon to an already great program.
the program allows for multiple instances to be run. So a work around is to simply run the application twice and use different settings for the instances.

So, I wrote a replacement (in command line) that pretty much does the same thing. Just noticed something though and either I'm being stupid or there's a slight bug..
When quantity goes into the thousands, the app treats (for example) 1,512 as 1.512
i.e. 1512 is seen as 1.512
throwing out total valuations (still useful for comparison though)

Some sort of helpfile would be useful for those of us who didn't take economics in college and don't have a clue as to what delta is. The prices it comes up with don't seem to agree with my spreadsheet for the same items, but since I don't know what the columns actually mean I can't be sure.

Delta is the commonly used symbol for "change". It would be the difference between the market price for the item and the market price of the minerals it could be refined to. This difference is the important part of the program as it lets you know whether you should try sell orders, or refine and sell the minerals.
Keep in mind that putting up sell orders for all the items can be a second job all on its own so it is often worth it, time wise, to reprocess.

Tathyn, the difference between the program and your spreadsheet is most likely due to the difference in mineral prices. If you are positive this is not the case, post specific items.
Samuelus8728, crashing updater means the program itself would crash as well. I believe you should update your .NET 3.5 Framework.

Maybe you should/could consider some filter options as: - display "all", "T1", "T1 named", "T2", "faction", "officer" items, because scrolling all items to find a specific one takes some time (and I would never ever refine a officer item :-) )
- for compairing items of the same group it could be furthermore helpfull to have an option that enables for a tree-like structure just as the ingame market

If you can't find your station in list, then any of the following could be the case: 1) You got a 24 hours CCP lock before the items appeared in station 2) Due to the somewhat outdated DB, the satation is listed as 'Unknown location XXXXXX'
The download site is in the first post (surprise!), or you could use google.
You can select region for capturing prices.
If you get unknown prices, then item is not sold in region you selected, or eve-central didn't provide any data.
Updating refining skills is not planned and i seriously doubt it's going to be implemented.

I would like to second the request for some sort of filtering of sell price data for a particular system if possible. That would be easier than trying to filter for highsec orders only

One Question: Any chance you will update the program now that Faction ships are available in the market? Currently they show as "non-market". Is that hard coded or a function of eve-central?

I believe filtering by system won't be implemented. This will require a much bigger stress on eve-central and i don't think it's as useful.
As for new faction ships, the issue is somewhat outdated database. Months ago, i managed to lose my db stripping script, and i'm still too lazy to pay it an hour to restore :)

Edited by: Arien Moyna on 18/01/2011 15:12:15 I have checked the code of the updater so far, and what it does is simply update the files. No information is send back to the server. If I have more time I will also check the program source for any fishy code. But what I can tell from the source code is that the author is pretty decent in c# and not a scriptkiddy trying to steal or hack anything (I've seen quit a few different coding styles over the years and the coding style used to write this program is the one you would expect in commercial products ;) ) When I have checked the main program it won't prevent the autor from getting you a fishy one with the next update, so if you are really paranoid about your API Key, you can always get a Visual Studio Express for free from http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downloads/ and compile the source code on your own. I don't see any need in it, though.

Hello,
Can someone give me some good startup advice on how to use this software?
I have inserted all my refining levels, updated my prices in my region, even downlodaed my assets, so I think I'm all set!
However, I don't understand a few things.
Refined Cost: What does this mean? Is this the amount of isk I would get (roughly of course) if I sold all the refined minerals based on the price in my region?
Where it has prices at the top, what do I want that to be set to on the whole? At the momemt I have it on "AllMedian" - wasn't sure which was best for "selling" items.
The delta... I assume thats just the diffrence between the two possible incomes???
Help with these few questions would be apreciated, thank-you!
PS. I know this is a little off topic, but this program uses eve central... but the price contributer for eve central hasn't worked since Incursion... do we know what the state of eve central is and will Refinery ever move to another aggregator if Eve Central falls?

Prices based on station: i get prices from eve-central, and as far as i know there's no possibility to query prices fro ma station.
Refined cost: this is the price of minerals (based on mineral price in settings) you get after refining items with selected refining skills.
The best price setting for selling is unclear. I prefer BuyMedian or BuyMax.
Delta is indeed difference between what you get refining / selling.
Eve-central seems to live and have contemporary contribution times.

Excellent tool! Thanks for making it. :)
To selling in certain systems or stations, eve-central doesn't allow you to search prices by system or station, but does allow you to sort the results by system or station. Maybe you could add fields in the setup where if a pilot wants to he could add a system or even station name and let the tool then filter the price results it gets from eve-central so that only those prices would be used in the calculations.

I'm really enjoying the tool but there are a couple of things I'd like to figure out how to do.
Is it possible to ignore 1 item or tell it not to calculate with that item.
an example is any item that doesn't have a current market value is "unknown" and thus the entire column value/isk value is unknown.
I'd like to figure out how to ignore that item so I can get totals to present to my corp. etc
also is there a way to filter out all of the "contract only items"so they dont even show up?

You might be able to create a "pathwork" fix.
I'm not sure what evecentrics data pull looks like, but I know on their website interface it shows the volume sitting in station.
You could create a filter where "if quantity=0" don't show.
Or, also using the Eve-database they have item types. I'm not sure, but contract only items might have their own separate item category ( I'd have to go home and open a DB to check). If so (while it would take a bit of manual sorting to find them), you could exclude certain item groups from showing up.
One thing, and I think I asked earlier, that would be really great is if this information could be exported into a .csv file. Or allow for ctrl-f search, or heck even highlightable and copyable. I buy mission loot in bulk at above buy order prices! (sinq laison) |

There's an easy workarond: dump your assets to hangar if you're going to process them anyway. Otherwise, your idea seems reasonable, but below the level that is required to stop being lazy :)

Data in CSV format doesn't have any attributes, such as number or string. You set it when you import into xls. You can also change data formatting after importing.
As for price per item, you can uncheck '12' button on toolbar.

Cool tool, there's a big need for it. A while ago, I did these calculations by hand for a ton of modules I hoarded from L4 missions and made a nice system to keep the list of 'salvage only' modules available in game. Wanting to see if market prices may have changed for certain modules, I tried out your tool and mostly found it to be in agreement. So, great job and good work.
Problems. I'm using Jita as mineral/market pricing, and generally use median sell price for comparison. (I see that I need to use median all for most of these numbers to make sense.) Some modules have very unrealistic price points being reported by your app(I don't know if this is your fault or the market aggregator's)
In general I found that your app doesn't throw out the crazy transactions that always mess up calculations... or it doesn't calculate medians correctly. This messed up items like "Fleeting Progressive Warp Scrambler" and "'Gloom' I White Noise Generator"
But really, only a few modules are affected this way so the tool still saves time(it just can't be trusted.)

I use http://www.eve-central.com/ for pricing. You can check item prices there for whatever items you find incorrect, and most probably you will see just the same there. Also, I don't calculate medians myself.
Should you find that prices are correct on the website, please send me a mail listing specific items and a screenshot.

This is great, just a pity you can't see the container names. As an enhancement it would also be nice to see a new column that shows what isk will be made from the refined minerals, a total for the minerals if sold for each row would be great. Then you could see if it is better to sell item or melt and sell minerals per item.

Originally by: Tandada Great job! Just a thing to add to wishlist: any chance to perform price scan by station rather than region? I mean, I couldn't care less about min/max prices in the whole Forge, but I'd rather make my decision based on Jita prices only!
This. I would absolutely kill to have this LOL. However, I will settle for System even, instead of station-specific prices. I, also, don't give a waffle about the prices all over The Forge.
Originally by: Codeguard Prices based on station: i get prices from eve-central, and as far as i know there's no possibility to query prices fro ma station.
Yes, you can (for Systems). You can in Google spreadsheet anyways, for Jita, by querying:
=ImportXML("http://api.eve-central.com/api/marketstat?typeid=XXXXX&usesystem=30000142", "/evec_api/marketstat/type/sell/avg")
I'm assuming it wouldn't be hard to add this to your program code...? Heck, if you can even just tell me where I'd add/edit it in your folder - I'll do it myself ;)
:: EDIT :: I forgot the most important thing - THANK YOU for this incredible program!

This might have been asked somewhere earlier in the thread, but why does the program advise me to refine items that sell for more than the minerals? Random example, 150mm light autocannon 1 gives me a refined cost of 4700, sell price 10K (rounded up both) yet it's marked green.
I might be missing something obvious here, but as is I don't get it.

Having problems with lots of unknown items too.
Region: The Forge Price history: 28days Max age:14days
And lots of common items are coming back as unknown. Lots of buy orders in market.
Seems its a problem with eve-central.
Take Malkuth heavy missile launcher. Unknown price in refinery, no buy orders in Jita on eve-central, lots of 90 day buy orders for hundreds of units in game.
It's a shame such an awesome program is rendered useless by a site it's dependant upon.

Just confirming I've had the unknown prices thing happen a few times. Quite frustrating.
Rock up to Jita with a freighter load of loot/salvage, fire up Refinery and maybe up to a fifth of the items come back as unknown. This is all just mission stuff, nothing rare or exotic.
No matter what price history or age settings I use or however many times I update prices I can't get them. It's not a regular problem, probably happened two or three times over the last couple of months, but very annoying when it does happen.
Maybe if the update returns an unknown price it could keep the old price?
