1. Solving the Pirate Menace - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
"But let's just stick with the snapshot to keep it simple. Out of 4715 people 162 suffered a loss of their ship in Mara, Passari and Eifer. Hrm...162 out of 4715 isn't a majority. Hrm...it's not even a significant number." There's a flaw in thi...

3. TTI ripe for the picking - in Corporation, Alliance and Organization Discussions [original thread]
Some good points here. In this game isk is simply a means to an end. And that ultimate end is getting out there with our cool toys and shooting each other. After all, what's the point of a massively multiplayer space game without massive multiplay...

4. Two good players seek corp - in Corporation, Alliance and Organization Discussions [original thread]
Otto you might want to check out AFO. We're a fun, low-stress but highly committed corp and there are tons of leadership opportunities as we grow. The core group has been around since beta. Check out www.clanafo.com and message myself or Doja in g...

6. Open Eve's Market - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Unfortunately if the pirate drops were sellable on the open market manufacturing anything other than ships would be even more pointless than it already is.

7. Example of how Pirate corps run. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
There is nothing inherently "communist" about corps pooling assets. For example, a company like Microsoft pools the value generated by its employees to do things like lease office space and put computer on every employee's desk. Managers in turn h...

8. Factory Slots and Economy - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
You guys are missing some important facts about tech levels. 1) As long as producers are able to make unlimited copies of BPs their rarity won't mean anything. The market is already flooded with tons of copies of the existing "rare" BPs already. ...

11. BP Copies and Collapsing Market Oh My! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Zero effort? I don't think so. You gloss over minerals acquisition but setting up an efficient supply chain is one of the key challenges of the game, especially where multiple product lines are concerned. I'm constantly monitoring the minerals mar...

12. BP Copies and Collapsing Market Oh My! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
"A 1-2% margin is only peanuts if you're playing small time. If I manufacture goods worth 1 million ISK, that 1-2% is 100-200k less I have to spend. The design of the EVE market favors those who take every tiny advantage they can get, because only...

13. BP Copies and Collapsing Market Oh My! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
A couple problems here. One, if you do the math you'll see that a BP copy researched to 100 mineral efficiency isn't really any better than one researched to 10. There is only a small and fixed amount of waste you can eliminate. We're talking abou...

14. Warp Warfare Imbalence - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
It's even worse than that. Prototype warp scramblers and stasis webs drop from every 2-bit pirate in non-empire space. I think I have about 15 of each type floating around in various hangars.

15. No sympathy. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The reality is gate combat is seriously unbalanced atm. If any of you have ever warped to a gate with 15-20 containers sitting around you know exactly what I'm talking about. By the time you come out of lag and get a handle on the situation your e...

16. Pirates at Passari: Lonetrek!! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
As far as I know Novatech are not pirates, rather anti-pirates who were trying to blockade all pirate escape routes from Passari.

17. Pirates at Passari: Lonetrek!! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Apparently at least one pirate was taken down today by a solo player. These guys do not have a strong hold on the gate and are being actively hunted.

18. My take on manufacturing to sell to others (bad) - in Science and Industry [original thread]
Hey I used to feel the same way you do. At the end of beta I was adamant that prices would fall to the point that manufacturing would not be worthwhile. However, in game I have observed that prices fall and people then exit the market driving pric...

19. My take on manufacturing to sell to others (bad) - in Science and Industry [original thread]
A serious manufacturer doesn't mine his own minerals, and sets aside a substantial capital base for mineral and blueprint acquistion. I haven't done any mining since day one and now have a manufacturing business that pulls in several million a day...
